A barrage of firepower instantly rained down on the head and torso of the hundred-meter-tall behemoth, the exploding flames stretching across the night sky. The behemoth roared again, taking a half-step back that sent the earth trembling. Some of its smaller parts were blown off their backs by the explosions and plummeted to the ground with screams.

But Tony's mind wasn't on that right now. He temporarily relinquished most of the control to Jarvis while continuing to communicate with Lin Yi.

"I truly don't possess the Anti-Celestial Race battle suit. You might not know, but that thing is as vital as life itself to my other self!"

"But I made a deal with another version of myself, and I possess some of the Anti-Celestial Race combat suit technology. I can transfer it all to you. Also, the rare metals we agreed on before still apply, or if you have other requests, as long as I can fulfill them!"

Tony's speech became faster and faster, and his tone became increasingly anxious.

Every second that he hesitated increased the probability of Pepper and Morgan facing mutation, leaving him no time to be complacent.

The shield nudged Lin Yi, who was deep in thought: "Dude, are you really not planning to make a move? In this situation, it seems there's no better way than for you to take action. After all, not everyone has such an absurdly powerful and controllable biofield as you."

Lin Yi clicked his tongue and grabbed another handful of popcorn.

"I feel like something's not right."

"What's wrong?"

"Why do I have to save Morgan and Pepper again?" Lin Yi said, "I remember encountering a similar situation not long after I transmigrated. Although the process and reasons were different, I also saved Morgan and Pepper."

"This shouldn't have happened in the main storyline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. I have a feeling there's something else going on behind the scenes. Don't you think it's a bit like... forcing Tony and Peter to suffer the same fate? Having to lose something or someone important?"

"If I hadn't intervened in that last attack, Morgan and Pepper from my universe would probably be gone by now..."

Shield scratched the lizard's head: "No way, this must be a coincidence, right? I think you're being a bit too sensitive. I don't think it's that far-fetched..." As he said this, Shield's tone was not quite sure.

Lin Yi finished the last popcorn and sighed softly, "I also hope it won't be this outrageous, but my sixth sense is as accurate as it gets. My sixth sense tells me there's something fishy going on here..."

"Okay, fine, your sixth sense is pretty amazing, but I don't think this is the time to talk about that." Shield curled his lip. "Even if there really is a ghost, are you sure you're not going to take action? That mother and daughter don't seem to have much time left."

Lin Yi brushed the popcorn crumbs off his clothes and stood up.

"Yes, you can see they've already set conditions. Although we didn't get the Anti-Celestial Race battle suit, we still have some technology, so the price is reasonable. But..."

Lin Yi looked down and spoke directly to Tony: "I can take action. The reward is the Anti-Celestial Race combat suit technology you possess, plus... I need to ask another person a few questions. You need to act as a go-between and ensure that his answers are truthful."

Tony was initially delighted upon hearing this, but his heart sank immediately afterward.

The other side of him is a bit irritable and doesn't understand human speech, giving off a difficult aura.

But for Pepper and Morgan's sake, Tony gritted his teeth: "I'll do everything I can to make him answer your questions and tell the truth!"

That's right, he can guarantee that as long as he agrees to the requests his other self made. He believes his other self still has that much integrity!

Before he could finish speaking, he received no reply from Lin Yi, but a sonic boom that resounded through the sky came from high above.

Lin Yi has already answered with his actions; their deal is done.

What should have been a piercing sonic boom sounded incredibly pleasant and reassuring to Tony's ears!

Meanwhile, on the third basement level of Stark Tower, in a separate, circular refuge pod...

Pepper felt a wave of despair as the environmental erosion concentration on the status display screen had risen to R9.7.

The red mist inside the chamber thickened again. Morgan had closed her eyes and fallen into a coma. Her face was purple, her lips were bloodless, and red lines crawled across her face and arms.

Little Morgan was covered in sweat, breathing heavily, and his little hands were still tightly clutching Pepper's clothes.

Pepper, though an adult, was no better off. Her heart was racing, red lines appeared on her body, and her vision began to blur.

She strained to keep an eye on the status indicator; less than three minutes remained of relatively safe time.

Three minutes later, they will undergo an irreversible mutation.

Or perhaps it won't take that long? We're only 0.3 seconds away from R10 level environmental erosion. Once we reach level 10, the time will shrink again, probably to around ten seconds.

The physical discomfort was nothing compared to the worry and heartache for Morgan and the doubts about Tony.

What exactly is Tony doing?

Does he know the current situation?

What method did he suggest? No.

What can they do in three minutes? Do they still have any hope?

boom!

A loud crashing sound rang out, and Pepper, who was already in a slightly dazed state, reacted slowly for two seconds before turning her head.

Someone's here? Is it Tony? Or is it just a hallucination?

Morgan vaguely saw a figure walking towards him.

He walked through the dense corrosive environment, and the thick corrosive fog would actually retreat when it encountered him.

It wasn't Tony; it was a young man.

...So, it was just a hallucination before the mutation? How could the corrosive mist possibly avoid people?

Pepper shook her head with a wry smile, but then she was stunned. She felt her increasingly blurred thoughts begin to clear. Moreover, the indescribable discomfort of being in the corrosive environment was rapidly subsiding.

She subconsciously looked at her arm and Morgan in her arms.

Even the red lines were gradually fading, and Morgan's breathing was beginning to calm down.

Pepper suddenly looked up, staring incredulously at the young man standing outside the cabin.

"Hi, Ms. Pepper, good evening." Lin Yi greeted her with a smile, using her bio-force field to dispel the corrosive mist inside the refuge pod.

"You are...?" Pepper's voice was dry, and she had to choke several times before she could speak.

"It doesn't matter, are you ready?" Lin Yi asked back.

Pepper was taken aback.

"Ready... what?"

Lin Yi smiled, stepped forward and grabbed the bottom of the circular refuge pod. He spread his bio-force field and lifted it up with a forceful effort, just as Pepper exclaimed in surprise.

"Get ready, we're getting out of this godforsaken place!"

Lin Yi responded, dragging the refuge pod, and with a thought, took off!

With another scream from Pepper, the biofield enveloped the refuge pod as it crashed through Stark Tower, streaking across the sky like a meteor.
