"It's nothing." Lin Yi waved his hand casually, clearly not taking the little incident to heart.

After walking along the beach with Xing for a while, we came to the edge of a small, sheltered grove of trees.

There stands a solitary little wooden hut here, its structure appearing very simple.

Xing pushed open the door, stepped aside to let Lin Yi in, and said with a slightly embarrassed expression, "It's a bit simple, Mr. Lin Yi, please don't mind."

Lin Yi walked in and glanced around. The room wasn't large, and the furnishings were as simple as the exterior. There was a low wooden cabinet, a small round table, two wooden stools, and a simple little wooden bed. The room was very clean, suggesting that Xing often came here.

"The scenery is quite nice." Lin Yi shook his head. Although it was a bit simple, the location was excellent. Through the large wooden windows, one could see the distant beach and the azure sea. The cabin was also built in a sheltered spot, with only a gentle sea breeze flowing in through the windows, which didn't make one feel uncomfortable.

Lin Yi looked out the window. He often liked to sit by the window in his treehouse and look at the scenery outside. Now that he was in a different place and with a different style, it still felt just as comfortable. He was even thinking about going back and setting up a similar place to stay. It seemed like a good idea to go there and spend a few days when he was feeling down.

After sitting down on the wooden stool, Xing quickly took out a wooden water cup from the low cabinet, poured him a cup of water with a ceramic pot, and also pulled out a plate of fruit.

These items are all handmade, which is not surprising. The planet of the Qi Yuan people still lives in tribal communities and is self-sufficient, unlike Earth where there is a developed trade. Even a wooden cup comes in a variety of styles.

Looking at the plate of fruit, Lin Yi was momentarily lost in thought. He had eaten this stuff when he traveled back to the planet of the Qi Yuan Clan seven hundred years ago. It was delicious, but it didn't have much flavor!

"Something's not right!" a voice suddenly rang out.

Xing, who had just sat down opposite Lin Yi, paused for a moment, then looked at Lin Yi with a puzzled and cautious expression: "Wh-what's wrong?"

Lin Yi frowned slightly and looked down at the shield in front of his chest. It wasn't him speaking; it was the shield that was talking.

The shield crackled and transformed into a mechanical lizard, which kicked off Lin Yi's chest, flipped in mid-air, and landed on the wooden table.

"Huh?" Xing was startled by the sudden change and leaned back slightly, then stared wide-eyed with curiosity at the small, exquisite shield on the table. She had seen many alien races in the game, including mechanical lifeforms, but this was the first time she had seen one so small and exquisite.

"What's going on?" Lin Yi asked. Generally speaking, the shield wouldn't transform on its own in front of others without his signal, so this unusual behavior clearly indicated that it had discovered something.

Sure enough, the shield clicked and rotated, aiming at the star. A very faint blue light swept across it, and then the blue light quickly spread throughout the entire planet.

"Oh ho, I knew it, this is getting interesting..." Shield paced back and forth, examining Star.

Xing looked at the little moving thing, a little curious and wanting to reach out and poke it, but after thinking about it, she didn't dare. The little thing looked a bit fierce, and she was afraid it would jump up and bite her.

"This race has signs of decay on their bodies!" The shield stopped, pointing with its mechanical forelimb at the somewhat bewildered Star: "They have signs of decay!"

"From the moment I was teleported to this planet, I could vaguely sense that repulsive aura!" the shield said, making a human-like gesture of pinching its nose.

Lin Yi chuckled. This little gadget actually has this kind of function?

"What do you mean? Translate it," Lin Yi said.

"The translation is that this race has been rejected by this universe, and judging from the dilapidated patterns, it's been quite some time. They should have gone extinct long ago. It's really strange that they've survived until now," the shield explained.

As soon as she finished speaking, Xing, who was sitting opposite her, narrowed her pupils to a thin line and suddenly grabbed the shield.

"Hey, what the hell do you need 78 for?!" The shield was shocked, and its two front claws quickly transformed into cannon muzzles, aiming at the star.

Xing's eyes shone terrifyingly as she stared intently at the shield in her hand, her voice trembling with excitement: "What did you just say?! The universe is rejecting us? Why?!"

"What do you mean we should have gone extinct long ago? Is it because the universe is rejecting us?" Xing asked, swaying as he spoke.

"Calm down! Calm down, little girl! Put me down first, or I'll fire!" The shield was shaking so hard it made his head spin. He wasn't really going to fire, he was just startled by Xing's overreaction.

Xing then realized she had overreacted. She took a few deep breaths, trying to calm her racing heart, and slowly released the shield, placing it back on the table. Then, she gave Lin Yi and the shield an apologetic look: "I'm sorry, I lost my composure. This news is too..."

Lin Yi waved his hand, indicating his understanding: "I understand, it's normal. As for the shield, tell me what you know about it, I'm quite curious too."

The shield's words, when considered in relation to the history and current state of the Axolotl race, are not difficult to deduce. Takunmo had previously stated that the Axolotl's reproductive capacity had been declining for a long time. If it weren't for that portal of light, the Axolotl race would likely have become extinct long ago, which aligns with what the shield said.

The portal restored some of the salamanders' reproductive abilities, extending their lifespan. But is all of this related to the Celestials or the entities behind them? Are the salamanders part of their plan? Or were they merely an unexpected variable resulting from the portal's effect?

The shield settled firmly on the table, and pointing to the star, it continued, "Let's talk about her first. According to my scan, this race you mentioned before, called the Qiyuan Clan, and the planet they inhabit, are clearly an anomalous collection."

"As for what outliers are, that requires a discussion of the cosmic level. The universe operates on complex but relatively stable underlying rules. These rules maintain the basic order of spacetime structure, energy flow, and matter evolution. Outliers refer to those existences that are incompatible with the rules of the universe, or even cause interference and conflict. An outlier could be a special life form, a unique energy form, or even a planet; it is not fixed."

"When anomalies reach a certain number or intensity, they will disrupt the local stability of the universe. The universe will then automatically react by rejecting these anomalies. The decaying aura on the Qiyuan race and on this planet is the best proof of this. The universe's immune system operates on a rule-based level and will reject anomalies in various ways. The Qiyuan race's reproductive ability is one such phenomenon of rejection."

"Logically speaking, the Qi Yuan race and this planet should have disappeared long ago in the long process of repulsion. The fact that they've survived until now means that some external force has helped them." After saying that, the shield added, "Of course, such external intervention usually comes at a price."
