Dark Wizard: Rise! My undead army!
Chapter 87 went too far.
"A stable phase rune set?" Gregor raised an eyebrow. "That's not difficult, although it's a bit complicated. But give me some time, and I can carve a set for you."
"As for Void Silver Dust..." He clicked his tongue and shook his head, "That stuff is a real rarity."
"It originates from certain spatially unstable secondary dimensional rifts, or needs to be extracted from the remains of special void creatures. It is difficult to collect but has a wide range of uses, so its price has always remained high."
"Our lab's budget... you know, it can't afford that kind of luxury. And I don't have any stock here either."
Seeing Lynn's slightly disappointed expression, Gregor added:
"However, if you have enough magic stones, I do know a few channels you can try asking around, but of course, the price won't be cheap."
"How many magic stones do we need?" Lynn asked.
"It's hard to say, it depends on the quality and quantity, but it would probably take at least two or three hundred magic stones to buy enough to repair this lamp."
Two or three hundred magic stones!
Lynn currently only has twenty-four magic stones in his possession, plus the remaining contribution points in his nameplate, which is far from enough to reach that number.
However, given Lynn's earning speed, it won't be long before he gathers enough magic stones.
"Understood, thank you, mentor. Please keep an eye out for me in the meantime, and if you come across any Void Silver Dust, please get it for me first. I'll pay you back when I have more money."
Lynn didn't stand on ceremony at all, treating the old man like an interest-free credit card for now, knowing he could definitely pay it back anyway.
Upon hearing this, Gregor glanced at him without any surprise, revealing a "I knew it" expression, and waved his hand:
"You little rascal, you really don't miss out on any opportunity. I haven't even charged you for the 'Stable Phase Rune Set' yet, and you're already eyeing my magic stones."
Despite saying that, there was little blame in his tone; it was more like a helpless teasing.
"Alright, let's leave the Soul Lamp here for now. I'll figure out a more reliable way to repair it when I have some free time."
As instructed, Lynn gently placed the [Damaged Phase Soul Lamp] on a corner of the control panel.
But he did not leave immediately. Instead, he took out a blank bone tablet, picked up a bone pen, pondered for a moment, and then quickly began to sketch on it.
The pen tip glided across the bone plate, making a soft rustling sound.
He drew a simplified diagram of the energy circuits and rune arrays inside the Soul Lamp, and clearly marked the seven energy circuit break points and nineteen missing or incorrect rune locations discovered in the analysis at key positions.
Beside him, he also provided concise annotations outlining his initial restoration plan.
For example, the best way to connect a broken loop, or several possible alternatives to a missing rune and their advantages and disadvantages.
A moment later, he pushed the bone plate, covered with annotations, toward Gregor:
"Mentor, here are the repair methods I've come up with and some points to note. Perhaps they can be of some help to you and save you some time."
Gregor had already picked up the bone plate related to the "Reverse Soul Prism" again, ready to continue tackling the problem.
He caught a glimpse of what Lynn was pushing towards him out of the corner of his eye, but at first he didn't pay any attention and just casually said "hmm".
But when his gaze inadvertently swept over the markings on the bone plate, his fingers paused slightly.
He put down the bone plate in his hand, picked up the drawing Lynn had made, brought it close to his eyes, and his cloudy eyes widened even more.
"How could they have detected this hidden circuit breakage here?"
"The third node of this 'phase shift' core rune is wrong... Even I only vaguely felt something was wrong after sensing it several times just now, but you noticed it at a glance?"
"And this... this energy blockage point is hidden in the mirror reflection zone of the main circuit, extremely well concealed..."
Gregor's fingers traced the markings on the bone plate, one by one, his expression gradually becoming serious.
He suddenly raised his head and stared intently at Lynn, his gaze as if he wanted to dissect Lynn's head to see what was inside.
"Kid!"
Gregor's voice was filled with disbelief. "These problems...some of them even require me to spend time carefully examining them to find!"
"How long have you had it? How many glances have you taken? You haven't even opened it, yet you've marked all the key issues and given directions for repair?"
He paused, his eyes turning strange, even carrying a hint of mockery and danger.
"Hey...you're not some old monster disguised as an apprentice, are you, kid, here to make fun of me?"
"How about... I perform a craniotomy to see what's so special about your brain structure? Don't worry, I'm very skilled, it won't hurt at all."
Lynn felt a chill run down her spine, realizing that she had gone a bit too far this time.
He quickly flashed a "pure" yet slightly "embarrassed" smile:
"Professor, you're joking. I've been thinking about it a lot these past few days..."
"By the way, I ran into Instructor Harold of Gears and Bones at the market a couple of days ago. I took this Soul Lamp apart and studied it for a while... and that's when I discovered quite a few problems."
There's no other way; now we have to use Harold as a scapegoat.
"Harold? That rusty old man can see through this?" Gregor snorted, clearly not believing the explanation.
But he didn't delve into it further; everyone has secrets, especially in this dark wizarding academy.
Lynn's almost superhuman "insight" and "knowledge application ability" are precisely the "source of inspiration" that his "Death Transformation" project desperately needs.
As long as Lynn can continue to provide valuable ideas, he doesn't care where that ability comes from.
"Alright, stop with that."
Gregor waved his hand, carefully putting away the detailed bone plate and placing it together with the broken soul lamp.
"Your quick strokes have saved me a lot of trouble. I'll take care of the rune group and keep an eye on the Void Silver Dust. You go do what you need to do and don't disturb my research!"
After saying that, he tossed Lynn's [Ring of the Dead] over and then ignored Lynn, immersing himself back into his own world of bone plates.
However, the slight trembling of his eyebrows revealed that his inner self was not as calm as it appeared.
What secret does this kid have? It's really irritating not to find out...
Lynn breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that she had gotten away with this hurdle.
Without another word, he picked up the Undead Ring and quietly retreated to the control panel on the other side of the laboratory, preparing for another task—enhancing the Death Knight!
The Death Knight was Lynn's first high-ranking undead.
Although the potential is somewhat low due to the "materials" and refining methods, Lynn still intends to make up for it.
Hmm... If Alphonse, with his high-level Death Affinity talent, were used to forge a Death Knight, that would be extraordinary.
