Chapter 171 An Overdeveloped Industry

When Mr. Pierre expressed his interest in making a deal, the workshop owner readily accepted the order. "Any cup will do, whether it's for yellow or red, we can make it!" the burly man from the Southern Empire assured his two customers, patting his large belly.

However, when they proposed to order a large quantity of glass bottles according to their own standards, the workshop owner hesitated, and when he heard Pierre say that "this will be a long-term order," he refused outright.

"Sorry, you two, our workshop can't do it!" The door slammed shut, and Rorschach and Pierre were kicked out.

Pierre thought he had said something wrong: "What's going on?"

Luo Xia pulled him along the river: "Ask at the next place."

However, all the workshops gave the same answer, whether they were workshops that made wine bottles and glasses or those that made flat glass; without exception, they were all rejected.

"How could this happen!" Pierre kicked away a shard of glass from the doorway, sending it flying in an arc into the lake. The shard was green; it was a local specialty, named "Forest Glass" because of its color.

It would be so cool to use it as a beer bottle – a big green bottle for barbecue. But Rorschach, who has repeatedly run into obstacles, is now only filled with regret.

"Let's go straight to the largest workshop and try to meet with the guild leader of the Glass Guild." Rorschach realized he had gotten the order wrong. When doing business in Byrne, you should talk to the guild first, and then talk to a specific merchant. Bart had clearly reminded him that he should deal with the guild himself.

"I'm sorry, gentlemen, but I don't see any sincerity from you. I haven't even seen the samples of the drinks you mentioned. If it were just energy potions, I could believe it with the assurance of this mage, but soda? What kind of soda is that? I'm a country bumpkin, I don't understand." The chairman was also a burly man who had been drinking beer, but his voice was as muffled as if he were working a bellows.

The guild master's bulbous nose twitched as he declined Pierre's invitation and subtly implied that while Rorschach's orders seemed substantial, he (theoretically) had to consider the entire guild and allocate only a small portion to each workshop.

"Unfortunately, the airship I was on had an accident, and some of my luggage, including samples, was lost, but I assure you..."

Luo Xia stopped Pierre from continuing, bowing slightly: "Our visit today was presumptuous. We originally planned to just tour your place, but we were deeply impressed by your exquisite glass craftsmanship. Next time, we will bring our own products to impress you."

The guild master stood up, grasped Rorschach's hand with his calloused and burn-scarred hands, and the two took their leave.

Today, I spent a lot of time packing my things, cleaning my dorm, and getting home from school, so I only have two updates today. I'll continue with three updates tomorrow!
