My necromancer career begins at Hogwarts

Chapter 51 Materials Acquired

The night tour was a great success.

Morris successfully scouted the location, and the twins satisfied their curiosity by learning the secret of the fourth floor.

In addition, the twins formally invited Maurice to join their nighttime stroll group.

But Maurice refused; he preferred to act alone.

Moreover, he would go out at night not for fun, but for the knowledge in the forbidden book area.

The twins clearly showed little interest in the restricted book section.

They preferred to tease the doorman named Filch.

Soon, it was October 31st, Halloween Eve.

Today is the day of the official operation.

Hogwarts will host a rather lavish dinner on this day.

When Morris arrived at the chapel at dinner time, it had been completely decorated for the holiday.

The table was piled high with golden-brown pumpkin pies, along with heaps of candy puddings, and the air was filled with the aroma of cinnamon, caramel, and roasted meat.

The ghosts were also unusually active, floating around in the sky.

Maurice sat down at the Ravenclaw table and began to enjoy the sweet crème brûlée.

To be honest, he had always thought that wizards didn't celebrate Halloween.

After all, in this magical world, things like skeletons and ghosts are real and everyday occurrences.

The festivals that Muggles use to scare themselves seem rather unoriginal to wizards.

Or is it simply an excuse to eat and drink to one's heart's content?

But regardless, Morris was very satisfied.

The crème brûlée in front of him was incredibly sweet, but it suited his taste perfectly.

After eating some cookies and pudding, Maurice looked toward the Gryffindor table, where the Weasley twins, who had been there three minutes earlier, were nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile, Snape was sitting on the professor's table, slowly eating a steak.

well.

It's time to go.

Morris put the last bite of pudding into his mouth, wiped his mouth with a napkin, and then stood up naturally, walking towards the side door of the auditorium.

The students were so busy stuffing food into their mouths that they didn't pay any attention to him.

When he reached the corridor, just in case, he cast a Disillusionment Spell on himself to prevent anyone passing by from recognizing him.

On the stairs leading to the basement, a foul odor inexplicably hit us.

If I had to describe it, it would be like a damp, smelly sock that hasn't been washed in ages.

"Who threw this dung ball here?"

Morris muttered to himself.

Which despicable guy did this?

He almost vomited up the dessert he had just eaten.

Fortunately, the stench finally dissipated just as we were about to reach the potions classroom.

At the classroom door, Maurice canceled his Disillusionment spell, and at the same time, two red-haired figures appeared beside him.

"You've kept us waiting for a long time," Fred said, his tone tinged with dissatisfaction.

"I'm sorry," Morris said, "the crème brûlée is tempting me, and I can't resist it."

"That's a really lame reason," George said, somewhat speechless.

That's enough of the jokes.

After the three of them assembled, they quickly entered the classroom and headed straight for Snape's office.

Snape's office was just as Maurice had imagined: rigid and cold.

There was a desk, a few chairs, and several bookshelves that reached the ceiling, filled with books and various bottles and jars.

There was a pile of students' homework that had not yet been graded on the table.

"Hey, Fred," George suddenly exclaimed, pointing to the pile of homework, "I saw your Potions homework. You got a 'D.' Do you need me to correct it for you?"

Don't do anything unnecessary or foolish.

Fred lowered his voice and said seriously, "Hurry up, I don't want to stay in this place for another second. It feels like a bat's nest."

Morris then walked toward the bookshelves and display jars.

Of course, I'm just taking a quick look.

If anything is touched, Snape might find out.

The jars were all labeled, each with a date and a number of potion ingredients.

They were probably conducting some kind of magic potion experiment.

Unfortunately, with Morris's current knowledge of potions, he was unable to understand the purpose of these experiments.

Just as Maurice was engrossed in watching...

"We should go, Maurice."

Morris turned around and saw that Fred had already obtained the key to the potion ingredient warehouse, which was hanging on a rusty little iron ring.

The three of them left the room, and Fred handed the key to Morris.

"Remember," he instructed, "be quick. Once you have the potion ingredients, put everything back to its original state so we won't be noticed. If anything unexpected happens, like Snape suddenly returning, George and I will make a commotion outside to attract attention. You just have to act accordingly."

Morris took the keys and said earnestly, "Okay, thank you."

To be honest, the Weasley twins took a considerable risk for him this time.

This touched him.

Good person...

They knew that if they were caught, none of the three of them would escape punishment.

Of course, if it really comes to that, he will try his best to take the responsibility upon himself.

"Click".

The door was opened smoothly.

Morris gently pushed open the door, and a strong, complex smell rushed out, almost making him catch his breath.

However, the smell is not unpleasant; in fact, it is somewhat addictive.

"The fireflies are twinkling."

A steady white light shone at the tip of his staff.

Then the light came in, and he began to look around.

There are several rows of wooden cabinets here, each with a label that is clearly written and easy to understand.

The management is clearly taking good care of this place.

"Narcissus root powder, valerian root, sleep bean..."

Because the categories were so clearly defined, Morris quickly found what he was looking for.

The materials stored here are plentiful, but he only took two portions.

Therefore, without careful observation, one would not notice any changes in the containers holding the materials.

After sorting and packing all the necessary items, Maurice left the room.

Great, everything went smoothly.

He gently opened the door and slipped out of the potions classroom.

Fred and George were waiting at the corner of the corridor.

After returning the key to its original position, the three quickly left.

Back in the first-floor hallway, Fred leaned against a cold marble pillar and asked in a low voice, "Did you get it?"

Morris nodded, feeling the heavy weight of the two small bottles in the inner pocket of his arms.

He can't wait to try brewing the "life-and-death water".

“We’ve had some commotion here,” George chimed in. “Shortly after you went in, there was a really loud noise coming from upstairs! Like a wall collapsed, and something was yelling… I think it sounds a bit like a troll.”

In fact, Morris had also overheard it.

But this should have nothing to do with them.

He waved his hand dismissively, "This is none of our business. Let's go back to the auditorium now; I need to eat something else."

"That's true." The twins nodded in unison.
