Chapter 362 Searching
Chapter 362 Searching
The door to the House of Requirement opened a crack.
Immediately afterwards, Draco Malfoy's head peeked out from under the door.
He glanced around warily, and froze when he saw Harry, Ron, and Maurice all staring at him.
"Hello," Morris greeted politely.
Draco's face paled, and he immediately tried to retreat back inside the door.
However, Ron darted forward, grabbed the door frame, and pulled hard, tearing the wooden door open completely.
Draco was much thinner than Ron, and he stumbled from the door, almost falling to the ground.
He managed to steady himself, slowly raised his head, and growled hoarsely, "What do you want to do?"
Almost simultaneously, he drew his wand and aimed it at Ron's head.
Ron instinctively took a step back.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Draco slipped out of the room.
The door to the Room of Requirement closed behind him and then disappeared into the wall as if melting away.
"So that's how it is." Harry stared at the empty wall that had been restored to its original state and muttered to himself.
Morris's gaze fell on Draco.
Draco was covered in dust and looked much the same as he had yesterday morning.
He watched as the door behind him completely disappeared, sneered, and turned to Ron, saying, "I'll tell the professor that you cornered me here and even tried to attack me."
"That's hard to say, Malfoy," Harry said calmly. "Neither of us had wands, yet you pulled one out and pointed it at someone else. Maurice, did you record what happened in the crystal ball?"
Morris cooperated perfectly, taking a crystal ball from his pocket and holding it in his hand before Draco could react.
Upon seeing this, Draco's face immediately darkened.
"Get out of the way!"
He put away his wand, squeezed through the gap between Harry and Ron, and immediately prepared to turn and run away.
But just then, Maurice's voice rang out.
"Malfoy, what brings you to the Room of Requirement?"
Draco paused in his steps.
He turned and stared intently at Maurice. "You know this place?"
He clearly hadn't expected to hear the term "Room of Requirement" from Morris.
Morris shrugged casually. "It's not a big secret at Hogwarts. Many people know about the Room of Requirement, such as house-elves and some professors."
Draco narrowed his eyes. "What I do is none of your business."
After saying that, he walked quickly toward the stairs as if fleeing, leaving behind only a patch of dust that he shook off his clothes.
The corridor fell silent.
Ron burst out laughing first. "Malfoy ran away, ha, he was scared."
Harry chuckled softly, but the smile quickly faded.
He turned to Maurice and asked earnestly, "How are we going to use this room?"
“It’s very simple.” Morris walked to the empty wall. “I’ll demonstrate.”
He walked back and forth three times, silently thinking, "Warehouse."
Judging from Malfoy's state just now, he was most likely looking for something somewhere.
Soon, a door appeared on the empty wall, exactly the same as the one that had just disappeared.
"Cool." Ron whistled. "How come we never noticed this hidden room before?"
Morris didn't say much, but stepped forward and opened the door. Harry and Ron quickly followed.
Inside was an enormous storage room.
Dilapidated tables and chairs, rusty crucibles, broken crystal balls, and unidentifiable magical devices... the clutter was piled up densely, almost reaching the ceiling. A musty, dusty smell permeated the air.
Morris unconsciously rubbed his nose.
I have no idea where all the dust in this room comes from.
But that's not important.
Morris looked around and found an area with obvious signs of ransacking—things were scattered on the ground, several boxes were all opened, and there were several shallow footprints on the ground.
Harry obviously noticed it too.
"The footprints match," he crouched down to examine them closely. "Malfoy is probably looking for something here."
"What do you think he's looking for?" Ron asked as he stepped forward.
"It must be something very evil," Harry said in a low voice.
"Maybe some mysterious person gave him some kind of mission," Ron said in a low voice. "You know, Malfoy's father was a Death Eater."
He suddenly stopped.
Because Maurice and Harry were staring at him from both sides.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Ron asked, somewhat bewildered.
"Perhaps you're right." Harry's expression turned serious. "In fact, this morning I overheard Malfoy talking to another Slytherin student. They were talking about Voldemort."
Ron's eyes widened immediately. "How come I don't know? What exactly did we talk about?"
"I didn't hear you clearly," Harry shook his head. "They spotted me when I tried to get a little closer."
Morris always felt that things weren't that simple.
"We must first find out what Malfoy is looking for," Harry said firmly.
"I agree," Ron agreed.
Morris stroked his chin, saying with interest, "I'm starting to get interested too. I'll help."
Harry glanced at him, seemingly somewhat surprised.
"So what should we do next?" Ron asked.
Harry adjusted his glasses. "First, we need to know what Malfoy is looking for. The fact that he's been searching this room for so long means it's well hidden and isn't something ordinary."
"That's the problem," Ron said, spreading his hands. "We don't even know what he's looking for, how are we supposed to investigate?"
Harry fell into deep thought, his brow furrowed. "We need to find a way to get it out of Malfoy."
"Good idea." Morris glanced at his pocket watch. "But you'll need a better plan."
Harry fell silent.
For the next few days, Harry and Ron spent almost all their free time tracking Draco Malfoy.
As for Maurice, he wasn't in a hurry. He simply chose one night to come to the House of Requirement alone and searched for a long time, hoping to find something special.
Unfortunately, nothing was gained.
So he put the matter aside for the time being.
It's not that I've lost interest, but rather that there are more important things to accomplish.
Finally, the second Saturday arrived, the day of the explorers' gathering.
early morning.
Morris, Kyle, Neville, and the Weasley brothers gathered on time at the Black Lake.
The air was damp with the scent of the lake, and the gray sky was reflected on the water.
