Chapter 116 Ron's Curse

Chapter 116 Ron's Curse

Rewind three minutes to the Quidditch pitch.

The two groups, Gryffindor and Slytherin, are facing off.

Ron glared angrily at Draco Malfoy across from him, his ears ringing.

Just now, Malfoy proudly announced that he had joined Slytherin's Quidditch team and become the Seeker.

But that's not all; what's important is the method by which the other party joined the Quidditch team—Lucius Malfoy donated seven of the latest flying brooms to the Slytherin Quidditch team.

On what grounds?

Does having money mean you can do whatever you want?

"Pretty good, isn't it?" Malfoy lifted the broom in his hand and said to Ron, "Weasley, you'll never even get your hands on a broom like this in your entire life. After all, your family probably couldn't even afford a broom tail with a year's worth of Galleons saved up, right?"

A burst of laughter erupted from Slytherin's side.

"Is it something to be proud of to pay to get into the Quidditch team?" Hermione said sharply. "Malfoy, if your father hadn't spent this money on you, you would never have gotten into the Quidditch team in your entire life."

Malfoy's smug expression froze for a moment.

He said viciously, "Nobody asked you, you stinking little mud-brain."

Mud seed.

That one word completely ignited the atmosphere on the field.

"What did you say?!"

Ron suddenly drew his wand, the tip pointing directly at Malfoy, and the other Gryffindor students also turned cold.

Malfoy burst into laughter.

"Weasley, you probably can't even cast a levitation charm," he said, taking a step forward, his tone malicious. "What, you want to duel? I remember your wand was broken, wasn't it? Did you pick this wand out of some trash can?"

Ron's face turned from red to white, and then from white to green.

He gripped his wand tightly, his mind blank, anger gradually taking over.

Finally, he couldn't hold back any longer.

Or rather, they couldn't bear it anymore.

"Malfoy!!"

Ron let out a tearing roar, gripped his wand tightly, and swung it violently toward Malfoy.

"boom!"

Harry didn't hear what spell Ron chanted; he only heard a deafening explosion followed by an extremely bright light.

The light instantly engulfed Ron himself, as well as Malfoy, who was not far away, and the group of Slytherins behind him.

After the bright light dissipated.

The sight before Harry was almost unbelievable.

"vomit--!"

"Ahem!"

"Ugh... Ugh!"

Draco Malfoy, captain Flint, and the Slytherin team members behind them were all bent over, pale-faced, and retching violently.

The next second, sticky slugs gushed out of their mouths and fell to the ground with a pattering sound.

Ron wasn't in much better shape either; his wand was now just a charred handle.

He braced himself on one hand, his face even more pale than Malfoy's, and covered his mouth tightly with the other.

"vomit--!"

Finally, he couldn't resist any longer and let go, letting a sticky, blood-tinged slug fall to the ground.

Clearly, he was also under the slug curse, and it seemed his condition was more serious.

Harry and Hermione gasped and rushed forward to help Ron.

The Weasley twins in the Gryffindor group watched this scene in disbelief.

Their silly little brother actually used a curse to wipe out almost the entire Slytherin team.

"Merlin's beard." The two exchanged a glance and quickly ran to Ron's side.

"Stop the spell!" Fred waved his wand, and a flash of light appeared, but Ron was still painfully gagging, spitting out another slug.

"Damn it," George cursed, and pulled out his wand to try it out.

At this moment, a bystander named Morris rushed over.

The scene before him was chaotic: wriggling slugs all over the ground, Slytherin students and Ron retching incessantly, and a charred wand handle at Ron's feet.

Oh ho, it seems he missed the best part.

He immediately went to Harry's side and asked, "What happened?"

Harry quickly recounted what had happened.

Morris nodded, walked straight to Ron, and waved his wand, "Stop Cursing!"

Just as Fred was about to warn that the spell was useless, Morris's wand was already pointed out, and a white light enveloped Ron.

Unlike the twins' previous attempts, Ron gasped for breath, as if escaping from suffocation, and his violent gagging immediately stopped.

"Cough cough... Thank you, Mosley." Ron looked at Maurice gratefully, his voice hoarse, and some color returned to his face.

"Hey... how did you do that?" George couldn't help but ask.

Morris put away his wand, his tone relaxed. "You two are still too green."

Fred and George exchanged another glance and shrugged.

Never mind, they've already witnessed Morris's talent for spellcasting.

Across from him, Malfoy, retching, hissed in a muffled voice, "Weasley... quickly undo our spell, or... or I'll tell... Professor Snape, and you're finished."

As soon as he finished speaking, he spat out another slug.

Ron had just caught his breath when he heard Malfoy's threat, and he straightened up by taking Harry's arm for support.

"Is all you do to tattle?" he shouted. "Go ahead, tell Snape, I'm waiting."

He turned to Maurice and explained, "Ignore them, Maurice, they deserve it. We all heard them calling Hermione a Mudblood."

Morris shrugged. "Suit yourself."

He was just passing by and happened to come and help out.

Afterwards, the Slytherin team, under the incoherent commands of their captain Flint, left the pitch in a disheveled state, supporting each other.

Meanwhile, Gryffindor erupted in a long-suppressed cheer and laughter.

"Well done!" Wood and his teammates rushed over and patted Ron on the shoulder.

Hermione's excitement was quickly replaced by worry. She stared in the direction Slytherin had disappeared, her brow furrowed. "Wait, what if Malfoy tells us they'll complain?"

"Relax," Fred waved his hand dismissively, saying slyly, "They're just bluffing. There won't be any problems. Think about it, how are they going to explain this? That a whole group of them got knocked out by a second-year student with a broken wand with a single spell, and that they vomited slugs all over the place? Slytherin can't afford that kind of embarrassment."

Several Gryffindor players around him let out low, approving chuckles.

Ron picked up the wand that was almost completely broken off from the ground.

"Speaking of which," Maurice said, his gaze falling on the wand, "how did you do that, Ron?"

The slug curse cast by the opponent was clearly abnormally powerful, even blasting the wand itself down to just the handle.

Ron glanced awkwardly at the wand in his hand—a wand that Morris had lent him.

"I don't know," he said softly. "I wasn't thinking about anything at the time, I was just very angry... and I might have even mispronounced the spell."

Did you mispronounce the incantation?

Morris became even more curious about what had happened.
