Become a Homelander and a Marvel superstar

Chapter 597 The Greatest Hero

Thinking of this, Gu Yi's evaluation of Azu rose to another level.

"The Dark Book is extremely dangerous, Anthony," the Ancient One said, though relieved.

"Its very existence is a threat to reality. Now that Wanda has returned safely, that book must be destroyed immediately."

"I agree with you, teacher." Azu shrugged helplessly. "But unfortunately, the book was in Strange's hands at the time. When he fell into the portal, the book disappeared into the multiverse with him."

The Ancient One fell silent.

He sighed silently.

Stephen Strange.

She personally selected the next Sorcerer Supreme after observing countless futures through the Time Stone.

He originally had an irreplaceable mission.

But now, with the arrival of Homelander and the occurrence of various events beyond her comprehension, the world's development has long since deviated from its intended course.

Since the future has become chaotic, clinging to past arrangements is futile.

Gu Yi, with her open-mindedness, quickly accepted this reality.

"This is Stephen's calamity, and his destiny," the Ancient One said calmly. "But arbitrarily crossing the barriers of the multiverse, or even using dark magic to forcibly interfere in other universes, will have very serious consequences."

Gu Yi looked at Emilia lying on the ground.

"If the barrier between the two universes is weakened too much, it will trigger a collision event. As a result, both universes will be destroyed simultaneously, with neither escaping unscathed."

Azu frowned inwardly.

Collision event?

It sounds like another apocalyptic scenario, but in two different universes.

But this kind of uncontrollable apocalypse is not what Azu likes.

"So, what does the teacher think we should do?" Azu asked.

After a moment's thought, the Ancient One offered her suggestion: "The power within this girl is too immense and uncontrollable. If left to roam freely, she herself will become a walking source of disaster. Once she awakens, ask her if she'd like to go to Kamar-Taj. I will personally teach her how to properly use and control this power."

"I will ask for her opinion." Azu nodded solemnly.

Entrusting Emilia to the Ancient One was indeed a good choice.

Keeping them around is not very useful; in fact, it's more likely to cause trouble.

Kamar-Taj has a well-developed magical defense system, making it a perfect place to be a daycare center.

……

at the same time.

In the unknown multiverse.

"Bang!"

Strange fell out of the star-shaped portal.

It slammed heavily onto the hard cement floor.

Strange groaned in pain, clutching his back, and struggled to his feet.

He steadied himself and tried to refocus his gaze.

He found himself standing in the middle of a wide street.

"Beep—beep beep!"

The sharp honking of car horns exploded in his ears one after another.

Strange was startled and quickly walked to the sidewalk.

A strangely shaped car sped past him, brushing close to his back.

He leaned against a nearby lamppost and began to survey his surroundings.

This sight left him completely stunned.

He knew this place all too well.

This is New York.

After graduating from high school, he lived in New York City and could recognize the street layout and building outlines with his eyes closed.

However, there was a sense of incongruity about this New York.

The streets are lined with green belts full of various flowers.

The building's exterior walls were covered with vines, and even the lampposts were adorned with meticulously trimmed potted plants.

This concrete jungle has been decorated to resemble a garden city.

The air didn't have that distinctive New York smell of car exhaust and sewer fumes; instead, it was filled with a fresh floral fragrance.

Strange frowned and walked down the street.

He walked to the intersection and looked at the traffic lights ahead.

The red light is on.

Instead of slowing down, all the vehicles accelerated and sped through the intersection.

Immediately afterwards, the traffic light turned green.

The cars braked in unison and came to a steady stop in front of the zebra crossing.

Meanwhile, pedestrians on the roadside routinely begin to cross the road when the green light turns on.

Red light means go, green light means stop.

Strange finally realized that he was no longer in his original universe.

That damned magic went out of control and actually threw him into New York in another multiverse.

They come, the security.

As a seasoned arcane mage, Strange quickly regained his composure.

He needs to figure out the basics of this world before he can figure out a way to go back.

Following the route he remembered, he headed towards Greenwich Village.

If the Kamar-Taj tradition exists in this world, then the New York Temple will still be in that familiar location.

After walking through several streets lined with flowers, Strange arrived at 177A Brick Street.

Sure enough, that familiar Victorian-style building stood there.

But what stopped Strange was not the temple itself.

He discovered that a huge bronze statue was standing in front of the main gate of the temple.

The statue depicts a man wearing a robe and cloak.

He gently raised his left hand, his gaze fixed resolutely on the distance.

Strange looked up and stared blankly at the statue.

Because the statue's face is clearly his own!

He walked to the base of the statue and saw clearly a line of text inscribed on the pedestal:

Stephen Strange. He gave his life in the battle against Thanos. We are forever grateful to Earth's greatest hero.

Strange stared at the line of text and read it over and over again, a jolt running through him.

Is this version of himself in the universe not only the Sorcerer Supreme, but also a great hero who saved the world?

It was even erected as a statue for people to admire?

In his own universe, he is a rebellious mage who has fallen into dark magic, a homeless dog terrified by the Homelanders.

But here, he is revered as a savior.

"Why... why is there such a big difference between us, even though we're the same person?" This stark contrast left Strange with mixed feelings.

Just as he was staring blankly at the statue.

A voice suddenly came from behind him.

"Stephen?"

The voice was very soft, but it made Strange freeze.

This sound.

This was the voice that haunted his dreams, a voice he could never forget, even in his deepest nightmares.

Strange's heart pounded as he slowly turned around.

Sunlight filtered through the leaves and spilled onto the street.

A woman in a white business suit stood there.

Long, brown, flowing hair; delicate features; and those eyes that he knew all too well.

Christine Palmer.

Strange's eyes instantly reddened.

In the original universe, she died in that car accident, which became the root of Strange's obsession with getting involved with dark magic at all costs.

And now, she is standing alive and well in front of him.
