Chapter 213 The Price of Incompleteness
"Your plans, like your soul, are utterly repulsive."
Frena stared at Gravik with his empty eye sockets, then swung his burning fist out.
"Bang—Sizzle—!!"
The punch landed squarely on Gravik's face.
The intense heat instantly melted half of Gravik's cheek.
The immense impact sent him flying backward, crashing into the control panel behind him and sending sparks flying.
The Skrull warriors around them were shocked at the sight, but instinctively surrounded him.
"For Skrull!"
They brandished various alien weapons in an attempt to stop this burning demon.
"A bunch of pests."
Flames erupted around Fury as he swung his hellfire whip.
"Feel the pain!"
"Snapped!"
The fire whip swept out horizontally.
Three Skrull warriors were cut in half at the waist. No blood flowed from the wounds, as the wounds were charred upon contact.
"Aaaaaah!!"
The remaining soldiers opened fire in terror.
Fury opened his mouth, and a fan-shaped flame shot out.
Any Skrull touched by the flames, whether their skin or armor, turned to ashes.
The pale white bone claws grabbed a Skrull who was trying to escape, and pinched his head with one hand.
"Look into my eyes!" Flames burned his soul through his pupils.
In an instant, the Skrull was reduced to a charred corpse in endless agony.
This was a one-sided massacre.
In just two minutes, hundreds of charred corpses appeared in the hall.
The rest of the Skrulls, witnessing such a horrific scene and with their new leader's fate unknown, scattered in panic and fled.
After dealing with the henchmen, Fury stepped forward, ready to put an end to this radical leader with a "look in my eyes".
"Accept your judgment."
However, Gravik laughed out loud and slowly stood up.
"Hehe...hehehe..."
His cheeks, which had been melted, were now completely healed, and a reddish-orange glow shone beneath his skin.
It's like magma flowing under the skin.
"Hmm? Extremis virus?"
Fury's skull-like eye sockets flickered with fire, seemingly somewhat surprised.
Gravik moved his chin, a smug smile spreading across his face.
"Not bad, Fury."
"But that's not enough."
After he finished speaking, Gravik's body began to undergo a dramatic change.
His left arm muscles suddenly swelled, tearing through his sleeve, and his skin instantly turned dark green, becoming as thick as a cement pillar—that was Hulk's arm!
His right side was covered with a layer of grayish-brown keratin like rock, and bone spurs even protruded from his spine—a sign of hatred!
"What...?"
On Frena's burning skull, the jawbone agape slightly, clearly startled.
"But have you forgotten who I am?"
"I am Gravik, the commander of the squad you sent to be in charge of 'post-war cleanup' back then."
"I remember now..."
Fury's voice turned low.
"The Battle of New York...and the Dark Elves..."
"I once ordered Skrulls to disguise themselves as Damage Control Bureau cleanup personnel and go to the battlefield to collect blood and tissue samples left behind by those super-creatures... in order to deal with future threats."
"Ha! That's right!"
Gravik's figure suddenly blurred, like an afterimage.
That's Quicksilver's super speed gene!
"And now... I am that threat!"
Fury only felt a blur before his eyes.
Immediately afterwards, a tremendous force slammed into his chest.
"Bang--!!"
His skeletal body crashed uncontrollably through three layers of concrete walls.
In the ruins, rubble exploded.
"That damn hybrid monster..."
Fury spat out a mouthful of flaming saliva.
He swung the chains of fire, aiming to entangle Gravik.
"Too slow!"
Gravik vanished instantly, reappearing beside Fury.
Fury turned to the side and opened his mouth, spewing out a stream of hellfire.
Gravik did not dodge.
His body instantly turned icy blue, covered in a chilling frost, allowing him to withstand the scorching heat of hellfire.
The Frost Giants' unique power of ice is one of the few powers capable of resisting Hellfire.
"Got you!"
Gravik's arm broke through the flames, grabbed Fury's skull, and lifted him into the air.
Then his arm muscles bulged, transforming into Hulk's arm, and he tried to crush Fury's head.
"Ho—!"
Fury was not to be outdone, and flames suddenly erupted from his body.
"I am immortal!!"
The bony hand gripped Gravik's wrist, and hellfire scorched his green skin.
"Sizzle sizzle—"
The smell of burning permeated the air.
Hulk's arm was burned and torn open, and Gravik, in pain, released Fury.
Its remarkable regenerative power then instantly repaired the arm wound.
The two engaged in battle once again.
This is a battle between monsters.
The entire base was riddled with holes, walls collapsed, and steel beams melted.
The fighting went from the inside out, from the abandoned nuclear power plant all the way to the center of Pripyat.
There is an abandoned amusement park here.
The rusty Ferris wheel creaked and groaned in the cold wind.
"Bang!"
Fury was slammed into the bumper car area by Gravik's heavy hammer, smashing several rusty cars flat.
Gravik fell from the sky like a meteorite, his feet pointing straight at Fury.
Fury rolled away to avoid it, and the chain in his hand got tangled in the Ferris wheel's support frame. He pulled hard.
The massive Ferris wheel support broke and crashed into Gravik.
Gravik supported the support structure weighing hundreds of tons with one hand, while conjuring a huge frost spear with the other.
"Die, Fury!"
The two were locked in a fierce and evenly matched battle.
Suddenly a gust of wind blew by.
The gray clouds that had been hanging over Pripyat miraculously began to crack open.
The long-awaited sunlight pierced through the clouds and shone directly on the amusement park and the two people battling it out.
"Sizzle—"
The hellfire on Fury's body contracted abruptly the moment it came into contact with the sunlight.
That seemingly endless power suddenly experienced a noticeable pause.
"What's going on?!" Fury exclaimed in surprise.
His movements were a beat too slow.
"ha!"
Gravik keenly observed this change.
"What's wrong, old man? Out of gas?"
Gravik grinned maliciously, seized the opportunity, and instantly lunged forward.
Raising his massive fist, he unleashed a series of punches on Fury.
"Bang bang bang!"
Fury was beaten so badly that he was powerless to fight back. The flames on his body grew weaker and weaker, and even cracks seemed to appear on his bones.
"Damn it...why?!"
Fury was forced to retreat repeatedly, eventually crashing into the railing of a spinning airplane and falling to his knees.
Just as he was puzzled.
A familiar voice rang in his ears.
"Are you confused, Fury?"
That was Mephisto's voice.
Why does your energy wane like a man with premature ejaculation under the sunlight?
"This is not my fault."
"Do you remember the little game you played on the contract?"
"You think you can get power from me for free just by using that damned ceramic seal?"
"Hahahaha—!" Mephisto's laughter echoed in Fury's mind.
"Since it's a fair trade, it must be based on an equivalent exchange."
"An incomplete price can only yield incomplete power."
