Chapter 343 The First Battle!

Jing Chen's voice echoed in everyone's ears. Everyone present was terrified and frantically looked around, trying to find Jing Chen's shadow. But how could Jing Chen let them find him so easily?

"what!"

"Well!"

"what!"

Screams rang out as the group of henchmen fell one after another, each with a bloody gash on their neck.

"Who are you? If you've got the guts, fight me head-on. What kind of skill is it to sneak around like this!" The gang leader shouted to the surroundings, gripping his axe tightly.

"Oh? Is that so? Then I'll grant your wish."

Suddenly, Jing Chen's voice rang out in front of the thug leader. The thug leader reacted quickly and swung his axe at Jing Chen in an instant.

Jing Chen remained calm and easily caught the thug's axe with one hand.

"What!" The gang leader exclaimed in shock.

Jing Chen didn't care whether he was shocked or not. With a shove, he sent the thug leader flying. The underlings were quite sensible; when their leader was sent flying, they all rushed forward. Jing Chen glanced at the crowd and spotted the thugs' second-in-command. A slight smile appeared on his lips, and he swung his axe directly at the second-in-command.

The second-in-command was startled and quickly rolled to the side, barely dodging the axe. Suddenly, a white light appeared in front of him, and a hand grabbed his neck and lifted him up.

The henchmen rushed over and saw their second-in-command captured. They shouted angrily, "Release our second-in-command at once!"

The second-in-command also said, "Do you know what kind of power I have backing? If you kill me, you'll be buried with me!"

Jing Chen scoffed, "Looks like you don't know what the situation is right now, do you? It's not that you've surrounded me, it's that I've surrounded you all by myself!"

As soon as Jing Chen finished speaking, he suddenly exerted force on his hand, and the second-in-command's neck tilted to the side, and he died.

"He killed the second-in-command! Kill him!" The henchmen shouted as they rushed towards Jing Chen, but Jing Chen shook his head and disappeared again.

When Jing Chen reappeared, his back was littered with corpses. Having dealt with the appetizers, it was time for the main course. Jing Chen turned to look at the thug he had just knocked away, a slight smile playing on his lips.

"You...who are you...why...why do you want..." Before the thug could finish speaking, Jing Chen reappeared in front of him, bent down, and said, "Me? I'm just a passerby. But, um, I'll take it. Here's the money."

The thug glanced in the direction Jing Chen was pointing—it was the snake woman who had said she was thirsty earlier. A money pouch fell in front of him. The thug looked at it, then looked up at Jing Chen, who was already walking towards the snake-woman slave.

Seeing Jing Chen walking towards them, the snake-man slaves were all terrified. If Jing Chen truly wanted to kill them, it would be an easy task for him.

Jing Chen snapped his fingers, and all the handcuffs on the snake-man slaves disappeared. The snake-man slaves were still somewhat bewildered, but Jing Chen didn't explain anything to them. He walked straight to the snake-man female slave in red, squatted down, and handed her a water bottle.

"Drink up, you'll have the energy to keep going," Jing Chen said.

The snake-man servant took the water bottle with trembling hands and drank it in large gulps.

She wasn't afraid of poison; even if it were, dying didn't seem so scary. She drank half the bottle in one gulp, then handed it to Jing Chen with both hands. Jing Chen took the bottle and said, "Alright, you're mine now. Come with me."

Without another word, Jing Chen turned and left. The snake-man servant quickly got up and followed. Before leaving, Jing Chen said to the remaining snake-man servants, "You can handle that human. I'm off now."

After saying that, he left without looking back, accompanied by his snake-man servants. The snake-man servants following Jing Chen glanced back; the group of snake-man servants quickly surrounded the thug leader. Although the thug leader was very strong, Jing Chen was not. Besides, there were too many snake-men here; no matter how strong he was, he couldn't possibly defeat him.

……

"Ding, mission complete. Reward: Level 1 of Battle Qi."

As soon as the system's voice faded, Jing Chen felt a surge of power flowing into his body. He stopped, closed his eyes, and focused on the power.

"Is this battle qi? It's definitely not the same type as soul power!" Jing Chen murmured excitedly as he felt the battle qi within his body.

The snake-man servant behind him looked at Jing Chen with some confusion, seemingly not understanding why Jing Chen had stopped.

With his back to the snake-man servant, Jing Chen asked, "What's your name?"

The snake-man servant shook his head. "I don't know, I can't remember anything."

Jing Chen was speechless. Why did the system ask him to save someone with amnesia? Jing Chen said, "It's inconvenient not having a name. How about this, from now on you'll be called Cai Die (Colorful Butterfly)."

"Colorful butterfly?" Colorful butterfly asked.

Jing Chen nodded. "My name is Jing Chen."

After speaking, Jing Chen continued walking forward. He had been forced to pause the evolution of his Creation God Eye for the sake of the battle, and now the evolution progress had actually slowed down. Jing Chen was quite speechless about this. But there was nothing he could do; he didn't know just how strong those people were. He had just been an ordinary person without even any battle aura.

After walking for a while, Jing Chen suddenly stopped. Cai Die looked up, puzzled. There was a beast-drawn carriage in front of them, and a person wrapped in a cloak was sitting in it.

Neither Jing Chen nor the cloaked figure spoke; they stood facing each other in silence. After a while, the cloaked figure said, "Little friend, how about giving me the snake woman behind you? I can pay you."

Jing Chen merely raised his head slightly, his blind eyes staring directly at the cloaked figure, and said, "Why should I give her to you? Give me a reason. If that reason can convince me, then I can give her to you. But if not, please go back to where you came from!"

The cloaked man was somewhat stunned. This aura was not something a child could possess. Could it be a Dou Huang powerhouse?

"A friend asked me to bring her back," the cloaked man said.

"Take her back? Do you know about her background?" Jing Chen asked.

The cloaked figure remained silent. Jing Chen scoffed, "With this kind of reason, you expect me to hand her over to you? Do you think... that's possible?"

Neither the cloaked figure nor Jing Chen spoke. Cai Die stood to the side, too afraid to speak. She had a feeling that both the cloaked figure and the white-haired boy named Jing Chen were very strong.

"I don't know which Dou Huang powerhouse you are, but since that's the case, don't blame me!" the cloaked man said.

Jing Chen simply smiled slightly, "Dou Huang Hai Bodong, you don't really think that having the strength of a Dou Huang means you can roam freely in the desert, do you?"

The cloaked man was shocked. How did he know my identity?! Who is he?

"Ding, mission issued. Mission: Defeat Hai Bodong. Reward: Battle Qi attribute, Ice."
