Chapter 261 You are my Darling!

The ten operators rode in their vehicles to the boarding point for the FRANXX, and all the pilots had already boarded the FRANXX.

As the broadcast ended, five mechanical doors slowly opened, revealing rows of Franxx machines. Each Franxx was at least ten meters tall.

A huge black monster emerged from the ground, its entire body black except for a few blue lights on its horns and face.

After the guard finished speaking, several turrets appeared on the mobile fortress behind Zero and started firing wildly at the Klaxosaur.

No one here seemed too nervous about the white Klaxosaur.

The white Klaxosaurus clung tightly to the black Klaxosaurus, tearing the black Klaxosaurus's back to shreds with just its mouth.

The black Klaxosaurus suddenly opened its mouth, and a powerful energy condensed inside. Its tail bent and stretched, transforming into something resembling a propulsion device. It then frantically collected energy, and with a shudder, the white Klaxosaurus was blasted to the ground.

Zero finally arrived at the first battlefield and saw two Klaxosaurs, one large and one small, facing off against each other. For a moment, he didn't understand what was happening.

The black Klaxosaurus opened its mouth wide, its mouth churning with energy, its target the smaller Klaxosaurus in front of it. The white Klaxosaurus, however, remained unfazed, calmly waiting for the black Klaxosaurus to gather its energy.

A beam of blue energy shot out from the black Klaxosaur's mouth. The white Klaxosaur simply tilted its front body slightly downward and used its tail to block in front of it. It seemed like a suicidal move, but it perfectly blocked the black Klaxosaur's attack!

And so, the two Klaxosaurs, one large and one small, engaged in a tug-of-war of strength. When they clashed, a blinding light erupted, making everyone unable to open their eyes. After a brief standoff, it seemed the black Klaxosaur ran out of energy and ceased its attack.

A cloud of smoke flew over, and Zero instinctively covered his eyes with his hand. When the smoke cleared and Zero opened his eyes again, a white dragon was flying towards him.

Seeing that things were going badly, Zero quickly rolled to the side, thus avoiding being hit.

After the thick smoke cleared, Zero, clutching her aching head, quickly regained consciousness. She heard the sound of steam rising in her ears, followed by a man covered in blood lying in front of her.

Zero recognized the man! It was the same man she had met in the forest! Zero quickly went over, supporting the man's neck with one hand and lifting his body slightly. Looking at the man in her arms, who was barely alive, Zero fell silent.

"He's already done for, don't worry about him." A woman stepped out of the cockpit of a white Klaxosaur—no, not a Klaxosaur, but a FranXX!

Zero looked up at the woman, who was wearing a red, tight-fitting combat suit and was leaning against the cockpit door frame, looking at Zero.

"You, you are... what are you doing there?" Zero stood up and asked.

"What are you doing? Destroying the monsters!" Zero Two said, his face covered in blood.

"Are you operating this robot all by yourself?" Zero asked.

Zero Two stood up and walked towards the cockpit. "I'm leaving."

"Wait a minute!" Zero had barely finished speaking when Zero Two was already unsteady on his feet. If he hadn't been holding onto the door frame, he probably would have fallen over.

"No! You're still injured!" Zero said.

Zero held Zero Two's hand, not wanting Zero Two to go and die like this.

"Get out of the way! You're in my way." Zero Two casually waved his hand, sending Zero Fan back several steps.

Zero Two straightened up and gently advised, "You're being too reckless, and you're all alone. You can't start a FRANXX by yourself!"

Ling Er said calmly, "I've always been alone. I'm used to being alone; this is how I've always been."

"No! I can't just watch you go and die!" Zero said.

Zero Two paused for a moment, then looked up at Zero and said, "I'm not afraid of death. It won't be long before that guy starts his operation, and then we'll all die. I'm not afraid of death, I have things I must accomplish. I'm leaving." After saying that, Zero Two stumbled into the cockpit.

Looking at Zero Two's figure, Zero didn't know what to say. Saying too much would seem too pale, but saying nothing would mean watching Zero Two die.

Zero lowered her head, reflecting on the days and nights she had spent with her comrades over the years. She clenched her hands, then loosened them, and finally, as if understanding something, she clasped them tightly together. "Wait!"

"I'm going to get on this robot too. I can't abandon you, and I can't watch you go to your death in vain!" Zero said.

"Huh?" Zero Two seemed to be startled by Zero's words and turned to look at Zero behind her.

"Are you prepared to die?" Zero Two asked.

"The resolve to die? I don't know, but for some reason, I'm not afraid of death at all. What I fear more than death is losing my place to live. Losing my place to live is more painful than death." Zero clutched his chest and said, "So, please let me fight with you!"

Zero looked up and saw Zero Two looking down at him. "Hey, just like me. You and I are very similar. It's been a long time since I've seen human tears." Zero Two reached out a hand and wiped away the tears from the corner of Zero's eyes. "I really like your eyes. They make my heart race."

Zero Two withdrew his hand, stood up straight, and stretched out his hand again. "Come on up."

Zero reached out and grasped Zero-Two's hand. Zero-Two pulled hard, and Zero-Two fell backward. Zero looked at Zero-Two in surprise, while Zero-Two smiled back at Zero.

"I'll let you have a taste. From now on, you're my Darling!" Zero Two said, pulling Zero into his arms and kissing him.
