Chapter 27 Potions Class
Chapter 27 Potions Class
Tai'an walked into the classroom, went to his seat, and was about to sit down when he suddenly noticed a suspicious water stain on the chair.
It was a childish prank; the culprit was obvious without even thinking.
The silver-haired loli lay sprawled on the table like a quail, her head buried deep in her arms, emitting a smug hum from the tip of her nose.
"You don't actually think it's cute to do this, do you?"
Tai'an couldn't help but make a sarcastic remark, then waved the monk's hand to sweep away the water stains and sat down leisurely.
I'm too lazy to argue with kids, so I'll just write it down in my little notebook and settle the score with interest later.
"That wretched Xiao An!"
The silver-haired loli cautiously peeked out from under her arms, her face and back flushed as if she had a fever.
My plan to get diarrhea at noon failed, so I had to come up with a new plan.
However, the overly simplistic single-celled brain can't think of any truly extreme ways to retaliate; it mostly resorts to little pranks and tricks.
Half-elves, being long-lived beings, are naturally slow-developing, and this is compounded by the negative consequences of the closed-off education system of the Ilantis royal family. She's roughly equivalent to a six or seven-year-old human child, at that age where she's universally disliked…
Why would an older man argue with a little girl?
Tai'an maintained his aloof demeanor, which annoyed Yin Yue, who kicked a stool behind him.
"Xiao An! I was wrong..."
"Yes, I won't forgive you. Just you wait."
"Hmph, you stingy person."
The two's childish conversation left those around them bewildered.
Potions Master Paramela strode into the classroom, gently waving her wand.
One after another, thick books fell onto the students' desks like fairy petals.
The Seventeenth Edition of New Potions.
"Class, please turn to page thirty-six. Let's start by learning about common potion ingredients."
The two-hour class was divided into three sections. The first section covered theoretical knowledge, the second section involved practical experience in the medicinal garden, and the third section focused on hands-on production.
The locations are in three different places.
"Children, Potions is a very profound subject, and also a very promising one. You've probably all heard about the income of Potions Masters. I can tell you with certainty that it's the most lucrative profession, bar none." Paramela, with her unkempt appearance, messy gray-white curly hair, and thick oil stains on the lenses of her thick-rimmed glasses, gave a brief introduction before getting to the point.
There was no gradual learning process; the opening scene was the preparation of a life potion, an extremely difficult task for apprentices. Following the textbook steps and sharing her own insights, the old witch spoke very quickly; if one lost focus even slightly, the rest of the lesson became completely incomprehensible.
"The cost of materials for each potion of life is less than one silver dollar, which is about seventy copper pence at the current market price. If the finished product is sold to a potion shop, you can get about twenty silver dollars. If you sell it yourself, you can get more profit. As a well-known medical supply, the potion of life has always been a best-selling product that is in short supply."
Paramela paused slightly, picked up the glass on the podium, took a sip of tea to moisten her throat:
"Every potion master's time is equivalent to that of Jinlong. Back then, I didn't have a mentor to teach me step by step. I had to learn by reading books and figuring things out on my own."
Of course, for some quick-witted individuals, I'm willing to offer guidance to help them avoid pitfalls, but that's all. To become my apprentice, you need to independently concoct a life potion and then come to my office for an assessment. Remember, my energy is limited; I will only accept a maximum of three apprentices, first come, first served. As for later applicants, I will decide based on the situation; if someone is exceptionally talented, I might make an exception. Once you've successfully concocted the life potion, it proves you have a talent for potion-making. If you have any questions, you can ask me directly in class or in my office.
Question loop solution.
The young wizards eagerly raised their hands, asking questions about things they weren't clear on, mainly because the material processing procedures in the book contained many unfamiliar terms.
Tai'an lowered his head and repeatedly flipped through the book in his hands, silently comparing the merits of magic potions and alchemy.
Essentially, alchemy involves condensing materials into a solid form, and its concept and difficulty should be higher than those of liquid-like magical potions.
When medicinal materials are compressed and condensed, their original medicinal properties undergo a qualitative change.
"Ugh, stop kicking my chair." The young wizard turned around angrily.
"Xiao An! Do you want to be a potion master?" The little girl rested her chin on the desk and blinked her eyelashes rapidly.
"I'm somewhat interested." Tai'an didn't deny it; having another way to make money would make things easier for him in the future.
"I'm better at potions! You can ask me if you don't understand anything." The silver-haired loli smiled, revealing her dimples, looking quite smug.
"I don't believe it." Tai An turned his head coldly.
"Don't underestimate me, okay? I've received guidance from a court mage in potion making." Silvermoon kicked the stool from behind again.
The young wizard, annoyed, casually scooped up the moon from the bottom of the sea and grabbed the little girl's restless leg.
"What are you doing! Let me go! There's a difference between men and women." The silver-haired loli looked flustered, her heart suddenly racing, her face quickly turning red, and she felt waves of strange and stimulating sensations, as if her muscles were spasming.
"Behave yourself!" The young wizard glared back at her, warning her, leaving a light but firm mark on the silver-haired loli's calf with his fingers.
"Waaaaah, I hate you." Tears welled up in Silver Moon's eyes.
The two sat in the back row of the classroom, and their little actions went unnoticed except by their deskmate, Dorothy.
Paramela took out a glasses cloth, summoned a splash of water, cleaned the stains from the lenses, put her glasses back on, and announced loudly, "Alright, children! Take your books and follow me to the Potions Garden."
The students gradually stood up.
Following behind Palamera, we waited for the ladder to heaven in front of the iron gate.
Silver Moon was the last to leave the classroom, hopping along the wall like a lame cat.
"Are you alright?" Dorothy, his deskmate, helped support his shoulder.
"It's nothing! I just twisted my ankle!"
The boy saw the silver-haired girl's embarrassment but felt no remorse. Firstly, he knew he hadn't used any force, and secondly, she deserved it!
The Potions Garden is located in the Dark Forest outside the Wizarding Academy. Most of the herbs require sunlight to grow properly. However, some rare herbs, such as the Dead Soul Grass, may need to be grown in areas without sunlight.
In front of the school gate, Paramela greeted the Three-Eyed Raven: "Lord Gargamel, I'm taking the students to the Potions Garden."
"Okay! Go ahead without worry! Just contact me if you need anything!" The three-eyed raven stood on the head of the demon statue, preening its feathers.
Holding the mithril wand, Silvermoon hovered in mid-air, using the Mage's Hand to propel herself forward, floating to Tai'an's side, and making a face as she lowered her eyelids.
