Chapter 76 Lynn: Didn't you guys ever think about attacking his head?

new York.

After getting off the plane, Lynn stretched his limbs and saw Sean standing outside the airport waiting for him.

Upon seeing Lynn, Sean immediately ran over and took the travel bag from Lynn's hands: "Boss, did you enjoy your trip to Eastern Europe? Have you already charmed all the beautiful women in Eastern Europe?"

Seeing Sean's lewd smile, Lynn got into the passenger seat, tossed him a cigarette, and said, "Don't even mention it."

I had planned a month-long vacation, but it's already over in less than ten days.

"By the way, nothing happened at the station while I was away in New York, right?"

Sean caught the cigarette Lynn tossed to him, lit it, and started the car, saying, "Nothing serious happened."

"The cybercrime investigation unit discovered some 'paranormal' videos at a hotel in Hudson Town."

"However, some speculate that this was deliberately created by the mayor of Hudson as a tactic to attract tourists!"

"By the way, boss, are you going home first or back to the station?"

In response to Sean's question, Lynn said, "Let's go back to the station first."

"good!"

Upon hearing Lynn's words, Sean drove directly toward the FBI headquarters in New York.

Inside the Investigation Bureau.

"Come in!"

Upon hearing the knock on the door, James Duke, who was signing documents, said something without even looking up.

After Lynn entered and closed the office door, Duke gestured for Lynn to sit down.

After signing all the documents, Duke closed his pen, looked up at Lynn, and smiled, "How have you been in Eastern Europe these past few days? Didn't you meet many charming beauties?"

Hearing Duke's joke, Lynn laughed and said, "Chief, you and Sean asked me the same questions after we met."

"Haha, what's the big deal? If I were twenty years younger, I would never let such a good opportunity slip by."

Duke tossed Lynn a cigar and continued, "You handled the Sokovia situation very well, although it cost Strucker a base in the process."

"But this also successfully drew Nick Fury's attention to the German Hydra."

"When Pierce called me, he kept praising you. You know, Nick Fury is very trusting, so being able to fool him is proof enough of your ability!"

"Chief, those in Germany..."

"Ignore them, a bunch of good-for-nothings being arrested is no big deal."

Before Lynn could finish speaking, Duke waved his hand and then took out an invitation and handed it to Lynn: "This is an invitation to the New York World's Fair tomorrow night."

Lynn took the invitation from Duke and glanced at it; it was signed Hammer Industries.

He then smiled and asked Duke, "An invitation from Justin Hammer? Director, while his Hammer Industries is quite good, he shouldn't be qualified to send us an invitation, right?"

"He is certainly not qualified to send us an invitation."

In response to Lynn's question, Duke said, "However, since Stark Industries closed its weapons manufacturing division, Hammer Industries has taken over the military's orders."

"It's said that Hammer Industries has produced a batch of mass-producible war robots, designed to rival Tony Stark's Mark armor."

At this point, Duke chuckled and said, "Although these war robots are sold to the military..."

but..:"

Duke didn't say it explicitly, but Lynn understood what he meant.

Once these war robots are mass-produced, Hydra will naturally have no reason to let them go.

"In that case, I'll go to the expo tomorrow to see if Hammer Industries' war robots are really as Justin Hammer described!"

Seeing that Lynn understood his meaning immediately, James Duke nodded in satisfaction.

After leaving Director Duke's office, Lynn did not return to his own office, but went directly to the Illuminati headquarters.

"You finally decided to come back."

Seeing Lynn drive over, Laura put down her tablet and smiled, "Lorna has been nagging me these past few days, asking why you haven't come back yet."

When Laura exposed her little scheme, Polaris slapped her in annoyance.

"Ouch, you've killed me!"

Pretending to be in great pain, Laura collapsed onto the sofa, sticking out her tongue and secretly winking at Polaris.

That's enough!

Seeing her best friend's shameless behavior, Polaris, amused and exasperated, pulled her up from the sofa.

Watching the two playfully bickering, Lynn smiled and handed them the gifts: "These are gifts I brought back for you from Eastern Europe."

"Gift?"

Upon seeing the gift Lynn handed her, Laura ran over and happily opened the gift box.

Upon seeing the exquisite bracelet, Laura smiled sweetly at Lynn and said, "Thank you, Leader."

After saying that, she put on the bracelet and then waved it at Polaris, saying, "Isn't it pretty!"

"Um!"

Seeing the pink diamond bracelet on her best friend's wrist, Polaris couldn't wait to open her gift.

Inside the exquisite gift box lay a necklace inlaid with green gemstones.

He took out the necklace and glanced at it. The green gemstone shone faintly in the sunlight, just like when he used his mutant ability.

"Thank you, Lynn!"

Polaris really loves this necklace.

Seeing the joy in Polaris's eyes, Lynn raised her hand and ruffled her hair: "I'm glad you like it."

Not long after, when Peter Parker returned to the Illuminati base, he was so excited when he saw the gift Lynn had brought him that he did a somersault on the spot.

"Thank you for the gift, Lynn. This is the first time I've received... no, I mean, although Aunt May, Uncle Ben, and Harry have given me gifts before, but..."

Seeing Peter's excitement, Lynn smiled and said, "I know what you want to say, don't be shy."

"By the way, Peter, how have you been lately?"

Upon hearing Lynn's inquiry about his recent situation, Peter Parker carefully put the gift away and then excitedly began to talk to Lynn about what had happened recently.

Including Professor Connors' experiments.

It seems that Professor Connors' transformation into a lizard man is almost over.

Perfect opportunity! I can use this incident to act as a mentor to Peter Parker.

The reason we didn't do this before is that Peter's age is the age when he hates being lectured. Forcing him to act as a life mentor and tell him what is right and wrong would only backfire.

Only at the right time can he gain Peter Parker's approval and become his true guide on his superhero journey!

Scene from the New York World's Fair.

When Lynn got out of the car, a large crowd had already gathered outside the expo venue.

In addition to a number of invited celebrities, many media outlets from across the United States and thousands of tourists visited this grand expo.

Upon seeing Lynn, the surrounding crowd greeted him.

Lynn naturally waved to them enthusiastically.

As for the reception staff from Hammer Industries, Lynn indicated that they didn't need to worry about him.

Not far away.

Hearing the cheers that suddenly came from behind her, Pepper subconsciously turned around and glanced back.

Upon seeing Lynn appear, he whispered something to Natasha beside him.

Natasha left Pepper's side and went straight to Lynn's side.

"Hi, Lynn, long time no see!"

Looking at Natasha, who walked up to him with a smile, Lynn laughed and said, "You look beautiful today, Natasha. I think Justin Hammer will want to kick you out when he sees you."

"Oh? Why?"

"Because you'll steal the show from this entire expo!"

In response to Lynn's praise, Natasha smiled and said, "Really? I don't think Justin Hammer would do that, especially since I came with Ms. Pepper."

"By the way, do you know about Tony Stark?"

"Tony? What happened to him?"

"He was poisoned by palladium; if we hadn't discovered it, he would probably be dead!"

"Palladium poisoning?"

Hearing Natasha say this, Lynn paused for a moment, then continued walking towards Pepper: "No wonder he gave me his private satellite and also gave Rhodes a suit of armor."

Aren't you worried?

Seeing Lynn's nonchalant demeanor, Natasha asked with a smile.

"Since you've said that, it means S.H.I.E.L.D. already has a solution for Tony's poisoning, right?"

"It's mainly because Tony is smart. When Coulson went to New Mexico, he said that Tony Stark had already found a solution."

"That's good."

Lynn greeted Pepper with a smile as he approached her.

"Long time no see, Lynn. You were quite the star of the show the other day."

Lynn greeted Pepper with a smile and exchanged a few pleasantries with her.

Upon entering the expo, the scene was extremely lively.

After switching seats, Lynn sat next to Pepper and said, "I heard that Hammer Industries has manufactured a batch of war robots to compete with Tony's Mark armor?"

Pepper didn't think much of Justin Hammer: "Before Stark Industries' weapons manufacturing division closed, the military's weapons orders always prioritized Stark Industries."

"Justin Hammer always regarded Tony as his biggest rival, and even imitated Tony's every move in public, but Tony never gave him a second glance."

As the two were chatting, the lights in the venue suddenly dimmed, and then a burst of light music began to play on the stage.

As the music played, Justin Hammer danced with some awkward steps, twisting his body and greeting the people in the audience.

On stage, after greeting everyone, Justin Hammer went straight to the point: "Ladies and gentlemen, for a long time our nation has sent brave soldiers to risk their lives in battle..."

"Until Iron Man appeared, we thought no one would lose their lives anymore, but he refused to reveal his advanced technology, which was very unfair."

"God, I knew he was going to throw dirty water on Tony."

Pepper shook her head as she listened to Justin Hammer's words, but then she saw Lynn quietly answer the phone.

"Lynn, I saw the invitation list. You're at the expo, right?"

As Tony Stark piloted his battle armor and flew rapidly toward the expo site, he asked anxiously.

"Yes, sitting right next to Pepper."

"Very good!"

Upon hearing Lynn's reply, Tony Stark immediately said, "I'll be at the expo right away."

Lynn, please protect Pepper. This expo is Ivan Vanko's scheme.

Having said that, Justin Hammer introduced the war robots on the stage one by one.

Not only that, even War Machine Rhodes appeared in the center of the stage wearing Iron Man armor.

"What? Lynn, I just heard Justin Hammer introducing Rhodes?"

"That's right."

Upon hearing Tony's voice, Lynn said, "That's right, Rhodes is also on stage, leading those war robots in a salute."

"Damn it!"

After muttering a curse under his breath, Tony Stark immediately said, "Lynn, take Pepper away first, I'll be right there!"

After hanging up the phone, Pepper looked at Lynn and said, "Tony's on the phone?"

Nodding, he repeated Tony's words: "So danger will soon befall us here. Natasha and I will take you away first."

"Ivan Vanko? Damn it, he's the guy who attacked Tony at that F1 race in Morocco."

I can't believe he actually got together with Justin Hammer!

Upon hearing Lynn's words, Pepper immediately grabbed her bag and got up to leave.

General Ross, who was standing nearby, noticed the three men getting up and said, "Lynn, the expo has just started. Our military's war machines, developed in cooperation with Hammer Industries, haven't been fully showcased yet. Why are you in such a hurry to leave?"

Hearing General Ross's apparent pride in the war robots, Lynn chuckled, "I just received word that chaos is about to erupt here. It's a pity the FBI from New York only sent me."

"However, I see that you have quite a few military personnel, so General Ross, I suggest that your military immediately send people to evacuate the crowd."

"That way, when the FBI takes over the accident investigation, you might be able to avoid some trouble!"

After saying that, Lynn took Pepper and left.

Ross frowned immediately as he watched Lynn leave with Pepper.

The focus returned to the stage, watching Justin, who was now energetically introducing the war robot.

Hammer and Ross frowned even more deeply.

Although it's unclear where Lynn received this message from, it's obvious that he's reminding himself of it.

Despite the fact that the military and the FBI have never gotten along.

But out of personal trust in Lynn, General Ross waved.

Soon a soldier disguised as a security guard ran over.

"Everyone be on high alert to prevent anyone from infiltrating the crowd and attacking the venue!"

Ross assumed that the chaos Lynn described was a terrorist attack, so he ordered his men to increase security.

I never imagined that the root of the chaos was actually on the stage!

When Tony Stark landed on the stage in his armor, the audience erupted in cheers, with many rising to their feet to applaud.

"Tony, this is not the time for you to act recklessly. Get out of here now."

Upon seeing Tony Stark arrive, Rhodes immediately began to persuade him.

As a friend, Rod didn't want to see Tony do anything rash in this situation.

Especially in front of the military and the media, if he makes a big fuss, it will inevitably bring unnecessary trouble to him and even Stark Industries!

Tony ignored Rhodes's advice and instead looked down at the stands.

Seeing that Lynn Pepper and Natasha were no longer in the audience, Tony finally breathed a sigh of relief: "Rhodes, this expo is a conspiracy. Ivan Vanko has taken control of these war robots. We must find a way to save these civilians."

"What? Ivan Vanko?"

Before Tony could finish speaking, all the war robots on the stage aimed their weapons at him.

Not only that, even the weapon systems of the Rhodes Armor have locked onto Tony Stark.

"Damn it, Tony, get out of here! My armor system has been hacked! I can't control my armor anymore!"

Hearing Rod's anxious tone, Tony Stark shoved Justin Hammer aside as he approached.

He then controlled his mech to take off: "Since his target is me, we'd better fight outside; there are too many civilians here!"

As Tony's suit took off, the war robots on stage immediately opened fire.

The glass dome above the expo fell off one after another under the shooting of these bullets, and the people at the scene were frightened and kept screaming and running away.

"FUXX!"

Upon seeing this, General Ross, sitting in the audience, immediately cursed angrily.

He now finally understood what Lynn meant by chaos!

"Damn it, why did it turn out like this?"

Ignoring the falling glass fragments, General Ross grabbed Justin Hammer who was fleeing and questioned him.

"I...I...Someone must have hacked into the war robot's control system! I'm going to the control room right now!"

Seeing Justin Hammer's flustered expression, General Ross grabbed him by the collar and dragged him backstage.

At that moment, General Ross remembered what Lynn had said before he left: if any civilians were injured or even killed, then Justin Hammer would be the culprit.

In any case, the blame should absolutely not be placed on the military.

Backstage.

When General Ross brought Justin Hammer to the control room, all the staff inside were obediently squatting on the floor.

Lynn sat in front of the computer wearing a communication headset, constantly talking to Joey.

Joey was vying with Ivan Vanko for control of the war robot: "Boss, I'll have control of the war robot in three minutes at most. This Ivan Vanko is indeed a genius, but in computer technology, he's a little worse than me!"

Hearing Joey's confident words, Lynn said, "Well done, Tony, hold on for three more minutes!"

"I heard you."

Controlling his battle suit as he flew over the city, watching the war robots relentlessly pursuing him, Tony...

Stark said, "You really have a lot of geniuses under your command, Lynn. After this matter is over, you have to introduce this genius to me."

"Come on, Tony, you can't poach my men."

After saying that, Lynn turned to look at Justin Hammer, who had been captured by General Ross, then stepped forward, grabbed him by the neck, and demanded, "Where is Ivan Vanko?"

With Lynn gripping his neck, Justin Hammer struggled, but when he saw Lynn's eyes grow cold, he immediately said, "Right here in my company. Believe me, I really didn't do this, Mr. Hall. I swear I didn't order it!"

Upon hearing Justin Hammer's explanation, Natasha said, "I'll go catch that guy."

After saying that, Natasha ran straight outside.

Watching Natasha leave, Lynn returned to his computer. One screen displayed the progress of controlling the war robot, while the other screens showed the situation outside.

On the screen, war robots were firing continuously, while civilians screamed and fled.

Some civilians were jostled and tumbled down the stairs, trampled over by those behind them before they could even get up, while many more civilians scurried about like headless flies.

Seeing the chaotic situation outside, Pepper covered her mouth, her eyes filled with worry.

Seeing Tony Stark flying around in his armor while bullets from the war droids kept hitting it, he asked worriedly, "Lynn, will Tony be alright?"

In response to Pepper's question, Lynn looked at the screen and saw Tony flying in circles while launching a counterattack. He then said to Pepper, "Don't worry, Pepper, I think Tony can handle these war robots."

As they were talking, Rhodes' voice came through the communication headset; he had now regained control of his armor.

Pepper breathed a sigh of relief when she saw Tony and Rhodes together eliminate all the pursuing war robots.

General Ross, standing nearby, kicked Justin Hammer to the ground, then went to Lynn's side and offered him a cigarette, saying, "Lynn, this has nothing to do with the military. It's all that son of a bitch's and Ivan Vanko's conspiracy."

Faced with General Ross's overtures, Lynn accepted the cigarette but did not light it: "General Ross, it's best to discuss this with our director."

.

"Can't you make the decision yourself?"

Hearing Lynn say this, General Ross felt a pang of unease. If that vampire James Duke were to speak up, who knows what kind of price the military would have to pay?

"I'm just a low-level supervisor at the FBI in New York."

Hearing Lynn say this, General Ross shook his head helplessly, looking at Justin Hammer who was getting up from the ground, thinking of his solemn promise.

General Ross then kicked him again.

"Boss, it's done!"

Seeing the programs for all the war robots on the computer turn from red to green, Joey immediately said, "Now all the war robots are under my control."

"Boss, what should we do with these lumps of iron?"

Before Lynn could speak after hearing Joey's words, Rhodes said, "Lynn, these war robots were ordered by our military from Hammer Industries. You can't bring them back to the FBI!"

Lynn pretended not to hear Rhodes's answer: "Joey, these war robots should have self-destruct programs installed."

"Once the self-destruct program can be removed and there is no danger, these war robots will be moved to a 'safe zone.'"

"No problem, boss, I'm confident I can handle the self-destruct program of these metal lumps."

In response to Lynn's instructions, Joey immediately began to decipher the self-destruct program of these war robots.

The program had just been 50% cracked when a red signal representing a steel armor was seen flying rapidly toward the Expo.

Joey immediately said, "Mr. Stark, a lump of iron is flying toward you. Compared to other lumps of iron, its energy level is exceptionally high."

As soon as Joey finished speaking, Natasha's voice came through the communication headset: "It should be Ivan..."

"That guy from Vanke, when I got to Hammer Industries, he wasn't there anymore."

Seeing the guard hanging from the ceiling by ropes, Natasha immediately took out a USB drive, plugged it into the computer, and copied the data.

Upon hearing what Joey and Natasha said, Tony Stark and Rhodes immediately became alert.

Soon, Ivan Vanko, dressed in a suit of Iron Man armor, landed in front of the two from the air.

As the helmet of his armor opened, Ivan Vanko looked at Tony Stark and said, "It feels so good to be back."

Inside the control room.

At that moment, the NYPD arrived and, at Lynn's signal, arrested Justin Hammer.

"Pepper, you go with these officers and leave first. I'll go see Tony if he needs any help."

Upon hearing Lynn's words, Pepper immediately nodded.

After Lynn left, Pepper and the police officers came outside, but they were not in a hurry to get in the police car and leave.

"Thank you, but you guys go ahead. Happy will take me home."

Upon hearing Pepper's words, the officers nodded and left.

"Pepper..."

"I'm a little worried about Tony."

Looking at the shards of glass and fragments of the war robot scattered on the ground, Pepper said worriedly, "I won't feel at ease until I see Tony come back with my own eyes."

Faced with Pepper's insistence, Happy had no choice but to nod and say, "Alright, but Mr. Lynn said these robots will self-destruct, so I suggest we find a safe place to stay first."

On the battlefield.

The bullets struck Ivan Vanko's armor, but did not cause any damage to it.

Instead, the weapon on the shoulder of Rhodes' armor was shattered directly by Ivan Vanko using a whip charged with electricity!

Seeing this, Tony controlled his armor to crash into Ivan Vanko, but was immediately kicked away by him.

Before Tony could even stabilize his flying armor, Ivan Fanco's projectiles had already entangled Tony's armor.

The huge electric current directly caused damage to the surface of Tony's armor.

Seeing Tony subdued, countless bullets from the Rhodes Armor's arm formed a rain of fire as it attacked Ivan.

Vanke.

Although the bullets did not harm Ivan Vanko, Tony took the opportunity to escape his restraints.

Seeing Tony Stark break free of his restraints, Rhodey attacked while asking, "Tony, where's that laser weapon you were using? Let's try again!"

"That's a one-time use item."

With that, Tony raised his hand and unleashed a palm energy cannon directly at Ivan Vanko.

"boom.."

A loud explosion rang out, but Ivan Vanko was completely unharmed.

Instead, he looked at the two with a mocking expression and said, "Tony Stark, is this all you've got? It seems that the hatred your Stark family inflicted on our family back then can now be fully avenged on you!"

Seeing Ivan Vanko's smug look, Rhodes stepped forward, activating a miniature missile on his shoulder. "Looks like it's time for my 'ex-wife' to make her appearance."

"What is it?"

"My ex-wife!"

As soon as he finished speaking, the miniature missile hurtled towards Ivan Vanko!

"Thump.:"

A crisp sound rang out, and the "ex-wife" struck Ivan Vanko's armor, went out of control, and fell to the ground.

Tony Stark said speechlessly, "Weapons produced by Hammer Industries?"

"Woolen cloth.."

Shrugging at Tony, Rhodes frowned and asked, "What do we do now?"

"The Ivan Vanko armor's defense is like a tortoise shell; our attacks simply can't penetrate it!"

Seeing Ivan Vanko's mocking expression, Tony Stark took a deep breath and then said to Rhodes, "I have an idea, but it's dangerous, Rhodes. I need you and me..."

"Bang!"

Before Tony Stark could finish speaking, a bullet pierced Ivan Vanko's head from a hundred meters away.

The sudden turn of events left Tony Stark and Rhodes speechless.

Ivan Vanko, who was just moments ago so arrogant and whose attacks were ineffective, was now shot in the head by a single bullet.

How could an opponent that I tried so hard to defeat be so easily defeated?

For some reason, Tony Stark felt that the battle was somewhat anticlimactic. He looked in the direction from which the bullets had come and saw Lynn Hall waving at them again.

[You have killed Ivan Vanko, whose favorability rating was -7, and gained 500 experience points!]

Upon hearing the system notification, Lynn casually put away his gun.

Lynn had heard from Tony Stark that Ivan Vanko harbored resentment towards him for saving him more than once, and believed that he and Tony were on the same side.

Unexpectedly, after stealing Ivan Vanko's head, he only received a legacy of 500 experience points.

That makes sense, though. Ivan Vanko is just a minor, third-rate villain who doesn't possess any special supernatural abilities.

So it's normal for you to get 500 points of legacy experience!

Controlling their armor, Tony and Rhodey flew over, their expressions complex as they opened their visors.

Lynn, however, chuckled and asked, "I watched the whole fight. He had his helmet off most of the time, didn't you ever think of attacking his head?"

"Bots and energy cannons are all aimed at Ivan Vanko's armor... I don't even know how to describe this battle!"

Upon hearing Lynn's complaint, Tony Stark and Rhodes exchanged a glance.

For a moment, no one knew how to respond.

Indeed, there were many opportunities to attack his head directly, including when he landed in front of them from the air and deliberately opened his helmet to reveal his face.

But both of them were thinking about how to destroy his armor.

Yes, that's just like how every time Captain America encounters an enemy, the enemy shoots bullets at his shield.

Seeing that the two remained silent, Lynn raised his hand to check the time and said, "Alright, hurry up and pack up and leave. The relevant departments for handling the aftermath have already arrived."

"Many people were killed or injured at this expo, especially due to the stampede. I expect the news will be very lively tomorrow!"

Hearing Lynn say that, Tony nodded: "Thank you, Lynn, you saved me again."

Three days later, at a press conference at the Federal Building in New York.

"According to the subsequent on-site investigation report, the death toll at the expo site three days prior was 17."

And the number of injured reached 126.

.

"According to our FBI investigation, the masterminds behind this incident are Justin Hammer and Ivan Vanko from the United States."

"Their primary target was high-ranking military officials at the expo, hoping to use the opportunity of showcasing weapons to eliminate them all!"

Upon hearing Lynn's report on the case's outcome, the media present were immediately in an uproar.

Some reporters even raised their hands to ask Lynn questions.

Looking at the reporters raising their hands below the stage, Lynn directly pointed to a media outlet that had a close working relationship with the FBI.

"Mr. Lynn, are you saying that the Russian Empire is the mastermind behind this? What evidence do you have?"

In response to reporters' questions, Lynn opened a PowerPoint presentation and said, "I think you all remember the incident of the plane carrying a nuclear bomb that landed at New York Airport."

Upon hearing Lynn's question, many media personnel at the scene nodded in agreement.

The defection of a Russian soldier to the United States in a plane carrying nuclear weapons was a "feast" for the press.

Therefore, they naturally remembered this grand feast very clearly.

"According to our investigation, although Ivan Vanko is officially wanted by the Russian Federation, he has close ties with some Russian officials in private."

"Many of his overseas accounts are related to the Russian bear."

At this point, Lynn flipped through the slides, which were filled with evidence of the collaboration between Ivan Vanko and Justin Hammer.

"Since Stark Industries' weapons manufacturing division closed, Hammer Industries has been actively seeking orders from the military, but with limited success."

"After discovering this, Ivan Vanko, who was secretly assigned by the Russian Empire, took the initiative to attack Tony Stark in Morocco in order to demonstrate his abilities to Justin Hammer."

"Just as Ivan Vanko had planned, Justin Hammer, after witnessing Vanko's abilities, took the initiative to rescue him from the Moroccan prison."

"And the two of them collaborated to create those war robots, preparing to showcase them to the world at the expo."

Turning the PowerPoint slide again reveals a chat log between Ivan Vanko and "someone".

"According to the records we cracked from Ivan Vanko's computer, Ivan Vanko and officials from the Russian Empire devised a plan to kill high-ranking military officials at the expo."

"The purpose is to embarrass the US military in front of the whole world, as retaliation for the US harboring soldiers from Russia."

"Fortunately, Mr. Tony Stark appeared in time as Iron Man at the critical moment, saving the civilians and military officials on the scene."

"Otherwise, the Russian Empire's conspiracy will succeed!"

Seeing Lynn present irrefutable evidence, the reporters present erupted in uproar once again.

"My God, I never imagined that what was ostensibly targeting Tony Stark was actually an attempt to kill all the high-ranking military officials?"

"Fortunately, Mr. Lynn Hall tracked down the clues, and Tony Stark arrived in time; otherwise, America would have been humiliated in front of the whole world!"

"Fuck you, those damn Russian bears!"

Inside Tony Stark's villa.

Tony Stark stared in disbelief at the live press conference broadcast on television.

Even Pepper was shocked.

"So... I am now the hero who saved the top brass of the US military and prevented the US from losing face in front of the whole world?"

Upon hearing Lynn's story, Tony looked at Pepper beside him, and even his voice changed slightly.

"That's right, that's what Lynn said, and I reckon that's what the entire American public will think after the press conference!"

"Oh God..."

Leaning back on the sofa, Tony Stark still looked incredulous: "I find this all a bit ridiculous. Ivan Vanko wants revenge on me, what does that have to do with the Russians?"

"and.."

"I think Lynn is telling the truth!"

Before Tony could finish speaking, Pepper interrupted, "And what Lynn said must be true, Tony."

Ivan Vanko killed 17 innocent civilians at the fair in retaliation for your death.

7

"Which explanation do you find more convincing: Ivan Vanko, acting on orders from the Soviet Union, attempted to assassinate high-ranking military officials but failed, resulting in the deaths of 17 innocent civilians?"

Upon hearing Pepper's words, Tony Stark paused for a moment: "But..."

"Tony, do you think Lynn would lie about this?"

Holding Tony's hand, Pepper said gently, "If you lie about something like this, it will definitely be found out."

"Besides, we all know Lynn; you should know what kind of person Lynn is!"

In response to Pepper's words of comfort, Tony Stark thought for a moment: "Although Lynn always picks the most expensive drinks whenever he comes, and he also likes to steal the most beautiful women with the longest legs."

"But as an FBI agent, he's incredibly capable, and as a friend, he's extremely trustworthy!"

Hearing Tony's assessment of Lynn, Pepper laughed and said, "That's right, and he's saved us more than once. I believe he wouldn't lie!"

"call.."

Tony let out a long sigh of relief, leaned back on the sofa, and nodded.

"Alright, I'm off to work now. Perhaps you've become a hero in the eyes of the American people, and Stark Industries' stock will rise even higher!"

Pepper kissed Tony on the cheek and then got up and walked outside.

After Pepper left, Tony Stark remained silent for a while before speaking, "Jarvis, do two things for me."

"The first thing is to help me compensate the families of the 17 deceased, and also cover all medical expenses, nutrition expenses, and all other costs for the injured."

"Secondly, help me check Ivan Vanko's overseas bank accounts and the accuracy of the evidence Lynn released!"

Upon hearing Tony Stark's words, Jarvis replied, "Yes, sir. But are you implying that Mr. Lynn is misleading the public?"

"There are some."

Nodding slightly, Tony Stark said solemnly, "Although I know that if this is false, then Lynn did this to help me, so that the public would not place all the blame for the deaths on me."

"But Jarvis, if this responsibility truly belongs to me, then at least I can't run away from it!"

"Honestly, I'm really grateful to Lynn. As a friend, he's done everything he could for me."

"But I don't want my friends to bear these burdens for me!"

Upon hearing Tony Stark's words, Jarvis replied, "Yes, sir. We are currently investigating Ivan Vanko's overseas accounts and the evidence released by Mr. Lynn."
