Gently dab the cigar scraps into the ashtray.

Richie Hood looked at Lynn sitting across from him and smiled, "I still have three years until my retirement, but I'm not going to wait any longer."

"After 25 years of fieldwork, I'm covered in injuries and ailments. My whole body aches on rainy days."

"I've already spoken with the director and I'm planning to step down from this position next year. I'll then hold the title of consultant within the bureau."

As he spoke, Richie Hood picked up the coffee pot to pour himself a cup of coffee.

Seeing Richie's action, Lynn smiled, reached out, took the coffee pot from him, and poured himself a cup.

He then picked up Richie Hood's cup and poured him a glass of water.

"Drink less coffee at night, and if you follow your work schedule, you can get a few more hours of sleep."

Taking the water Lynn Hall handed him, Richie Hood smiled and shook his head: "When I was your age, I once slept for only two hours in three days while on a mission."

"I can't do it now, my body is failing me. All I hope for now is for my granddaughter to graduate from university, find a good job, and get married before I pass away."

After taking a sip of water, Richie Hood suddenly said to Lynn Hall, "Lynn, if you want to take my place, you'll have to figure out how to win over the other three assistant managers first."

"To stand out from the agents and rise to D2, none of them are simple. Of course, you are the best. Your only disadvantage is your age."

"When I step down, I will recommend you to the director, but the other three..."

"clear!"

Lynn smiled and nodded upon hearing what Supervisor Rich Hood said.

There are nineteen levels of FBI agents, with agent levels ranging from S1 to S15, and above that are management levels.

Sean, one of his subordinates, is an S14-level senior agent, while he himself is a D2-level assistant agent supervisor.

Above him are the D3 Senior Executive Deputy Director and the D4-level Special Agent Director.

The man standing before me, Richie Hood, is a D4-level intelligence chief.

His superior is James Duke, the director of the FBI's New York field office!

Of course, if we break it down further, there are also assistant directors, office directors, and senior inspectors, etc.

However, since many of these positions are at the administrative level and involve different departmental responsibilities, they are not currently of much concern to Lynn Hall.

The reason why the intelligence chief, Rich Hood, has a 7% approval rating for himself and thinks highly of himself is because he is the most favored person in the intelligence community.

The biggest reason, of course, is related to interests.

This was before Lynn Hall became the assistant head of the Secret Service and was transferred to the New York office.

Many of the unspoken "old rules" between the two of them actually don't exist.

After leaving Richie Hood's office, Lynn returned to his lounge in the building.

After washing up, I lay in bed and recalled the events of the day.

After confirming that there were no mistakes, Lynn Hall closed his eyes and rested with peace of mind.

This is what Lynn does every night before going to bed after joining the FBI.

Only in this way can you ensure that you will not encounter any problems.

The next morning, in the director's office.

"So, the Brooklyn bombing case is solved?"

He looked at Lynn Hall, who was sitting in front of him reporting on the progress of the case.

Director James Duke nodded approvingly: "I knew it. It's most reassuring to have you handle this."

"You flatter me, Director, but there is one more thing I need to report to you."

As he spoke, Lynn recounted the statements of the two Middle Eastern men to James Duke.

This includes the Los Angeles terrorist attack two years ago and the kidnapping of Tony Stark.

"So you're saying that Tony Stark, who's been missing for two and a half months, is currently in the hands of those terrorists in the Middle East?"

After capping his pen and pondering for a moment, James Duke said, "Ever since Tony Stark was attacked and disappeared, the military, the CIA, and S.H.I.E.L.D. have all been searching for him."

"If only they could have rescued Tony Stark before..."

At this point, James Duke suddenly asked Lynn, "Lynn, how many years has our FBI director been in that position?"

"This is the eighth year, Director."

Since Hoover stepped down as director, the term of office for the FBI director has been set at ten years.

The current FBI director has been in office for eight years!

Upon hearing Lynn's answer, James Duke narrowed his eyes and thought for a moment, then looked at Lynn and said seriously, "Lynn Hall, I now order you to lead all the agents and action teams in your group to the Middle East immediately to rescue Tony Stark."

"We must rescue Tony Stark no matter what!"

"clear!"

Upon hearing James Duke's order, Lynn Hall immediately nodded.

Watching Lynn get up and leave for the door, James Duke suddenly said, "After this mission is successful, your level should be raised. Also, Richie is getting old."

"Thank you, Director!"

"You're welcome. When you return from the Middle East, I'll introduce you to some members of the Brotherhood."

Upon hearing James Duke's promise, Lynn Hall thanked him again without batting an eye.

After Lynn had completely left, James Duke leaned back in his chair and began to think.

To become the next director of the FBI, one needs an outstanding track record.

Even within the FBI, there are factions.

Moreover, there are many people eyeing that position.

So, if Lynn Hall really can rescue Tony Stark from the Middle East...

Then the stepping stones under one's feet will undoubtedly be higher!

As for Tony Stark himself?

In the eyes of James Duke, or in the eyes of most Hydra members, it wasn't actually that important.

Even though he was called a genius and developed many high-performance weapons.

But compared to his father Howard Stark, Tony Stark is just a playboy.

So James Duke doesn't mind making Tony Stark his own achievement!

But he has a very high opinion of Lynn Hall.

With that in mind, James Duke took out his personal cell phone and dialed a number.

An hour later, inside a Quinjet fighter jet flying towards the Middle East.

"Boss, is this a huge operation? What if Tony Stark isn't with those terrorists? Will the director target us when we get back?"

Before Sean could finish expressing his concerns, a very capable female agent standing nearby snapped, "Shut up, Sean! If you dare say another unlucky thing, I'll sew your mouth shut!"

Hearing Alice's reprimand, Sean chuckled and didn't care.

After all, she's the goddess in my heart!

"Don't be so nervous. We're all family here, so there's nothing you can't say."

I glanced around the cabin and saw that all the agents and action team members had a favorability rating of 6 to 7.

Lynn smiled, then looked at the somewhat nervous Middle Eastern man sitting there: "If you can lead me to the armed group that kidnapped Tony Stark..."

"Then I'll allow one of you to return to your hometown!"

Upon receiving Lynn's promise, the two Middle Eastern men's eyes lit up instantly.
