Harry Potter, the savior of Night City
Chapter 71: Finally, things are peaceful?
"Damn it, damn it!"
Lockhart twisted and turned as he fled madly, so fast that even a Thestral couldn't keep up with him. But his eyes couldn't keep up with his body's speed, so he simply stopped looking and used his powerful physique to rampage through the Forbidden Forest, smashing down trees that blocked his path, crushing boulders, and killing passing animals. He ran all the way through the Forbidden Forest, and finally, just as he was about to reach the Muggle-inhabited area...
"Bang!"
He crashed hard into an invisible wall, and no matter how hard he charged forward, he could not break through this barrier of air.
"How could this happen? How could this happen!"
Lockhart began to feel fear. He didn't know what was happening, he didn't know about the strange divine power in Harry, he didn't know about the invisible wall in front of him. The unknown awakened the fear he had when he was still human.
He held his head with his upper hands and tightly hugged his body with his lower hands, coiling his snake-like body like a tortoise encountering a natural enemy, trying to protect himself.
But then, pink rose from his body, all his fear was dispelled, and he began to devote himself to repairing his body, thinking about attacking Hogwarts again.
----------
"Phew." Slaanesh and Merlin both breathed a sigh of relief. Slaanesh restored Lockhart's hope and banished his fear, so that Lockhart would consciously seek revenge on Harry and the others in the future and then be killed. Merlin, on the other hand, was glad that he didn't have to fix the timeline; he only needed to patch this bugged period of time.
----------
"Harry, you..." Dumbledore looked at Harry with complicated emotions. That power just now, that power that could hurt Lockhart, was no mistake, it was also a kind of so-called divine power. He was afraid that Harry would break free from control like Lockhart.
Harry knew exactly what Dumbledore was thinking. He looked up at Dumbledore and chuckled, "Don't worry, Headmaster, I'm fine, but I might need some treatment."
Dumbledore heard the answer he wanted and smiled. Harry was still willing to stay under his control, but wanted him to fulfill some of his requests.
"Professor McGonagall, please take Mr. Potter and Professor Flitwick to the Medical Wing. As for Harry's ability to defeat Lockhart, I guided him privately; only Harry can control that kind of power."
Professor McGonagall and the others naturally didn't understand what the two riddle-makers were saying. She had already helped Harry up and rushed to the hospital wing. Professor Sprout also helped Professor Flitwick up and headed to the hospital wing. Only Snape understood the meaning behind the words of the two people who didn't deserve to stay in Gotham City. His eyes became complicated. He didn't ask anything and turned to leave.
......
Gilderoy Lockhart sexually assaulted students at school!?
This big news spread quickly, with Dumbledore certainly fanning the flames behind the scenes, even though he received more than five rants every day criticizing him for recruiting Lockhart.
Harry was not pushed out by Dumbledore, effectively preventing the secret of Harry from being exposed. The story of Harry entering the medical wing was simply glossed over by Harry claiming that he was caught in the crossfire.
As things gradually came to light, Lockhart, the big star, had become a universally hated rapist in everyone's eyes. Moreover, Dumbledore's statement about escaping from his clutches instantly instilled panic in people. How terrifying must a rapist be if he could escape from Dumbledore's clutches?
Therefore, at the strong request of the people, Lockhart was put on a wanted list with a reward of three thousand Galleons, dead or alive.
Serena's haggard appearance led students and professors to imagine her as a pitiful child suffering under Lockhart's torment. Almost every professor took extra care of her, even giving her private lessons, buying her clothes and snacks. Her classmates also helped her in every way. This, in turn, counterbalanced the possibility of Riddle causing trouble. He needed Serena to recover somewhat, otherwise it would certainly arouse suspicion. This also allowed Serena's near-collapsed body and mind a period of rest.
Life is gradually getting back on track, everything is moving in a positive direction, everything is thriving, and things are returning to peace...?
......
at night...
Riddle once again guided Serena to the second floor. This time, they were lucky; there were no teachers patrolling at night or students wandering around. He successfully led Serena to a girls' restroom. Serena slowly crept in, and the moonlight shone on the circle of sinks.
"This is it..."
Serena walked toward the sink, and just then, a voice rang out.
"A little girl? Strolling at night? Oh, you must be Serena~"
A ghost floated down to Serena's side, looked her up and down, and finally remembered that this was the Serena who had been the subject of much gossip about being assaulted by a perverted professor.
"Oh, going out at night isn't right, you know~" the bespectacled ghost teased. "If you go out at night, another perverted professor will kidnap you~"
The ghost seemed to enjoy mocking people whose backgrounds, experiences, or appearances were miserable; it seemed that mocking these people brought her pleasure.
"Myrtle..."
Riddle's voice came from Serena's mouth, and Myrtle's smile froze on her face. The ghost's body trembled like a sieve, and then without saying a word, it immediately crawled into the toilet and disappeared.
Serena ignored her and turned to look for something on the sink. Finally, she stopped in front of a snake pattern. She stared at the pattern and hissed like a snake. Then, the sink slowly moved in front of her, leaving behind a deep pit entrance.
She leaped down, using the rock wall as a cushion to land on the ground, and walked effortlessly into the depths of the cave. In front of a door covered with serpentine reliefs, she hissed again, and the door opened in response.
Upon entering, you are greeted by a wide stone-paved path with pools on both sides, each containing a snake-shaped sculpture at regular intervals.
At the end of the stone-paved road stood a huge statue, the very statue of Salazar Slytherin. Serena walked to the foot of the statue, and Riddle used Serena's body to emit a long series of hisses.
As the hissing subsided, the Slytherin statue opened its mouth, and a giant snake with its eyes closed crawled out, writhing its body before Serena.
Whispers emanated from Serena's mouth; these were no longer the hissing sounds, but whispers of the same nature as Lockhart's mother goddess whispers.
The giant serpent wanted to escape, but the restriction in its bloodline forced it to listen to her. The serpent writhed in pain, its body constantly oozing disgusting mucus. Its writhing became more and more intense. In its brain, a whisper was battling its consciousness and was firmly in control.
Serena, no, it should be Riddle, coldly watched the scene before her, a smile slowly appearing on her lips.
