Harry Potter, the savior of Night City
Chapter 23 Hagrid, what are you raising, potion bar?
Two weeks had passed since Neville knocked Malfoy into St. Mungo's, and things had calmed down at the school. With the Quidditch match still a day away, Dumbledore hadn't summoned Harry again, and Harry was too lazy to think about what the old man was up to.
Soon, the next day arrived, and the Quidditch match began, with Slytherin facing Hufflepuff. This time, Snape was the referee. Although Harry had a good impression of Snape, he didn't quite agree with Snape's excessive favoritism towards his own house.
The Loopballs flew through the air, and Harry dodged them as they suddenly appeared, his eyes wide open, searching for the Golden Snitch. Yes, Harry didn't want to play along anymore, because Slytherin's underhanded tactics were making him increasingly uncomfortable, so he decided to finish quickly and just start fighting.
Harry adjusted the magnification of the Strange Paths to five times. After receiving Harry's order to find the Snitch, the Strange Paths suddenly had an idea. Since there are two prosthetic eyes, there's no need for it to only look at one side at a time. Then, Harry's two eyes began to rotate in different directions, and two images appeared in Harry's eyes at the same time.
"Wait, I'm a little dizzy..." Harry was dizzy from the spinning of the Stranger and asked it to stop. The Stranger obediently stopped spinning and then returned to its original position. Harry rubbed his eyes and suddenly saw a golden light flash below. He quickened his broom and swooped down like an eagle spotting its prey. The Hufflepuff Seeker had obviously noticed his movement, but it was too late. Harry was already in front of the Snitch. He reached out and grabbed the Snitch, lifting it high into the air.
The match ended with Slytherin defeating Hufflepuff 150-10 in five minutes, breaking the known house record. Harry clearly had no interest in Slytherin's celebration, refused it, and went to find Ron and Hermione.
In the following days, Malfoy was discharged from the hospital. Just as Harry had expected, he became unusually quiet, even a little too quiet. It seems that he has become somewhat withdrawn. Moreover, he starts to tremble whenever he sees Harry and Neville. As for the others, apart from Quirrell, who seems to be getting worse and Quirrell, and Snape, who is becoming more and more irritable, nothing else seems to have happened... huh?
One day after Easter, Ron was reading with Harry and Hermione in the library. Harry was learning enchanting and carving, Hermione was still engrossed in her little blue-glowing notebook, and Ron was lying on the table looking out the window, feeling utterly hopeless about having two book kings beside him.
Then, the sound of footsteps, "tap, tap, tap," came from behind. Ron turned around and saw Hagrid, his hands behind his back as if he were covering something.
"Hagrid, what are you doing here?" Ron asked, drawing the attention of Harry and Hermione, who looked up at Hagrid.
"Just browsing," Hagrid said, his voice a little guilty, and quickly changed the subject, "Are you still investigating the Philosopher's Stone?"
"I've found everything," Harry said calmly. "Dumbledore has basically told me the main things."
"How could Professor Dumbledore do this? You're still just a child." Hagrid was also somewhat dissatisfied with Dumbledore's behavior.
"Alright, Hagrid, it's alright. We even took down a giant once," Ron said from the side.
"Hagrid, what's that in your hand?" Harry asked Hagrid.
"They're all just books about fantastic beasts. Anyway, I'm leaving now. You all study hard." Hagrid didn't continue the standoff. He concealed what he was carrying and walked out of the library.
"What is he hiding?" Hermione wondered, puzzled by Hagrid's attempt to conceal something.
"I'll go take a look." Ron had long wanted to leave, so he immediately volunteered to go and search. Soon, he returned carrying a pile of books.
"The Dragon Species of Britain and Ireland," "From Dragon Eggs to Hell"... He's looking for something about dragons!
"He always wanted a dragon." Harry recalled the longing in Hagrid's eyes when he looked at the dragon at the bottom of Gringotts.
"That's illegal! Getting caught like that is no joke." Ron disagreed with Hagrid's dangerous idea. "Keeping dragons was banned in the last century. Otherwise, there would be plenty of people keeping dangerous creatures in their backyards. At that point, not only Muggles, but even wizards would be wiped out by dragons."
"He's Hagrid, you know. If he really wanted to raise him, he probably wouldn't even consider the consequences," Hermione interjected.
"How about... we go check out Hagrid?" Ron suggested.
"Walk."
"Walk."
The three hit it off immediately, packed their things, and headed towards Hagrid's hut.
An hour later, they knocked on Hagrid's door. The hut was completely covered up, with even the smallest gap blocked by the curtains. Hagrid opened the door a crack, and after seeing that it was Harry and his two companions, he immediately pulled them in and then quickly closed the door.
The hut was so hot it was suffocating; Harry was even having trouble breathing. Hagrid brought them tea and ferret sandwiches. Ron and Hermione only drank the tea and refused the sandwiches, but Harry accepted them all, eating the sandwiches and tea with great satisfaction. After finishing, he didn't forget to tell Hagrid to use less salt next time.
"What brings you here?"
"It's nothing much, I just wanted to come and chat with you."
"I will not tell you anything about the Philosopher's Stone," Hagrid said firmly, assuming they wanted to know about it.
"No, we..." Harry was about to say it wasn't what he thought when he suddenly saw a huge black thing roasting in the fireplace. He pointed to the fireplace and asked, "Hagrid, what's that?"
Hagrid turned his head and saw Harry pointing at the fireplace, becoming somewhat uneasy. "That, that's..."
"Where did you get this, Hagrid?" Ron was already squatting in front of the fireplace. "A dragon egg, you must have spent a fortune on it."
"I won it," Hagrid suddenly said with a hint of pride. "I won it playing cards with a complete stranger. To be honest, that guy was a really bad player."
"You're going to hatch it for him?" Hermione asked. "And what will you do after you hatch it?"
"Oh, I've read so many books on how to raise a fire dragon. I know exactly what food and growth materials a fire dragon needs." Hagrid puffed out his chest.
"Hagrid, what kind of dragon is that?" Ron asked curiously.
"I checked, it's a Norwegian Spinosaurus, it's incredibly rare." Hagrid looked very proud.
Harry stood up from the sofa and walked over to Hagrid.
"That's a dragon egg."
"Dragon egg".
"You've prepared everything you need to raise the fire dragon."
"Ready."
"You need to hatch it."
"yes."
Harry gathered his jumbled thoughts and then looked up at Hagrid.
"Hagrid".
"What's wrong?"
"What are you raising, medicine potions?!"
