The black mist drifted in the air. He didn't know where to go or what to do. In fact, the longer he remained in the mist, the more his memories faded. If someone from the magical world were here, they would recognize him as Obscurial at a glance. But this was Night City. Even with Harry's unintentional burst of magic, the level of magic was far from being able to explore it in depth. The people of Night City didn't even know what the essence of magic was.

Number 0 floated in the air. He destroyed the research institute, killed all the researchers and corporate dogs in suits, and his tormented, riddled-with-holes mind maintained a final consciousness, allowing him to spare those who were being studied like him.

Silently and slowly drifting through the air, like a dark cloud over barren land, he staggered toward the bustling city. He didn't know why he was going there, but his remaining consciousness told him to enter the city, find the same mark as the researcher, and then destroy them.

With this thought in mind, he silently drifted into Night City. He felt his consciousness slowly dissipating, and then he condensed back into the form of Number 0. He was still that little boy, wearing the same hospital gown as in the research institute, with pure black eyes and a pale face. He was very thin, but he could not feel hunger and only knew how to keep walking.

The scavengers targeted him, and the moment their hands touched him, black spikes erupted from his body, riddling several scavengers with holes. A new recruit to the Vortex Gang, looking at the Obscure One, felt as if he were seeing his former self. He stepped forward, wanting to treat him to a meal, but before he could speak, a thick black pillar pierced his head. The beggar, seeing his good looks, wanted to use him as his cup, but as he approached, he saw the Obscure One pass right through his body, as if nothing had happened. Looking down, he saw a large, humanoid hole, just big enough for the Obscure One to pass through, had appeared in his body. The wound was enveloped in thick, black magic and quickly dissipated. The beggar's life ended at that moment…

Mo Mo Ran didn't know how long he had walked, only that the buildings around him changed from tin shacks to high-rise buildings, and then from high-rise buildings to classical houses. He had a sudden thought, looked up, and the sign he had been searching for was right above him, the top of a construction site.

"Huff...huff...huff..."

A sound like a whirlwind emanated from him, and black mist flowed from his eyes, thick and liquid-like, enveloping his entire body. Amid the terrified gazes of the passersby, he silently and suddenly surged into the air. Long, thin strands of black mist twisted and contorted in mid-air, manifesting everything he saw on his body. Black cherry blossoms appeared on his body, courtyard-like buildings sprouted from his body, and tiger heads and claws, identical to graffiti on the walls, surged forth from his body.

Momo Ran transformed into a bizarre creature. In its cherry blossom-like head, the tiger's head became a flower stamen, and the tiger's eyes were filled with black cherry blossoms. Scales, resembling oil-oil-like courtyard tiles and rooftops, flowed slowly. Black tiger claws grew from beneath its body, and its tail resembled the light strips hanging from the roof, with haphazardly growing black light strips forming that strange tail. Momo Ran had become a dragon-like creature, but although it was a dragon, it did not possess even a trace of dragon characteristics. At first glance, it was just a monster that had been randomly deformed.

Silently watching the sign, he then crashed into the Arasaka sign like a madman. His entire body hurtled through like a truck, not only shattering the sign but also slamming his body into the building, smashing the nearly completed structure to pieces. Then, he flew out again, his body curling into a ball, and slammed hard into the ground. His target was clear: those trucks bearing the Arasaka sign.

But the civilians didn't see it that way. All they saw was a boy suddenly turning into a monster, smashing a building, and then charging towards them. Instantly, chaos erupted in the streets. Ordinary people regretted not bringing their guns when they went out today and could only scramble away to escape. The mercenaries, on the other hand, had vanished the moment the boy transformed, leaving only a few greenhorns who hadn't even had a chance to react.

Silently, the truck charged towards the man. Seeing that he had no way to avoid it, the man suddenly released heat from his hands, activated the overload function, and put his gorilla arms at maximum power, hoping to stop the man. The man simply ran over the man without leaving a trace.

"Bang!"

A huge crash was heard, and several Arasaka trucks were almost crushed. Momo Ran stopped abruptly. In his eyes, there were no longer any particularly large Arasaka signs around him. Even if he had eyes all over his body, he could not see a single large Arasaka sign. For a moment, he was a little confused and did not know what to do. He just floated in the air and watched several cars with flashing lights rushing towards him.

"NCPD! Put it down... Holy crap!!" The cops' car stopped fifty meters away from the Obscurus. The police got out of the car, pointing their guns at the Obscurus in the sky. They had never faced anything like this before and had no idea what to do next. They could only ask headquarters for instructions.

NCPD Night City Headquarters

The dispatcher stared at the markers transmitted from the camera, unsure of what to do. She flipped through the manual but found no instructions on how to deal with this kind of thing. Finally, she made up her mind to follow her teacher's advice: kill anything unknown first. She opened her mouth, about to speak, when the chief's voice came through her earpiece.

"Pass the word down: capture that thing alive. Use bullets, electric fences, anything you can. Capture that thing alive and send it to Arasaka Tower."

"But this doesn't fit..."

"Capture it alive and pass the word down, or you'll have to choose between NCPD dispatch and a streetwalker."

The sound stopped, the dispatcher took a deep breath, and spoke into the microphone.

"Capture that thing alive and take it to Arasaka Tower."

.......

"Move the plasma cannon!" Upon receiving the order, the NCPD began their encirclement and suppression of the Obscurus. Bullets passed right through the Obscurus's body, and so did the cannonballs, some even being crushed into fragments inside. There was no other way but to bring out the plasma cannon. This thing was secondhand, bought from the Cleaners. It was originally intended for the squad's sheriff to use when encountering a troublesome enemy, but now it seemed the timing was perfect.

With the command given, the plasma cannon was activated, and the current converged at the muzzle. The massive current was continuously condensed, and the formless current was like bursting lava. The plasma slowly condensed from the muzzle and dripped down before dissipating on the ground.

"Sizzle... Bang!"

The orange-yellow plasma ball bombarded the unconscious Momo Ran, and the current instantly flowed through his body, causing the simulated head, scales, and other objects to tremble incessantly.

Silently, its last remaining consciousness collapsed under the plasma cannon, replaced by an endless torment of painful memories. The memories were silently eroded, leaving only hatred and agony. The plasma cannon had indeed wounded it. But that was all; now, it was furious.

As the plasma cannon hit its target, the police cheered and pulled the trigger again, preparing for another shot. Looking up, they saw a huge black sphere hurtling towards them.
