Harry Potter, the savior of Night City

Chapter 16 The First Quidditch Match

"So, can you tell me now what kind of trap you're planning?" Harry asked Snape.

"No, but I'll increase your commission." Snape took a small bag from the shelf and handed it to Harry. "A bag with a Stretch Mark Charm and fifty bottles of White Dictamnus, extra money from Dumbledore."

"Understood." Harry took the bag, turned and left, determined not to let Snape see his ecstatic emoticon °*:.☆( ̄▽ ̄)/$:*.°★* .

Harry has wanted White Dessert Essence for a long time, but he never knew where to find it. Now that he's been given fifty bottles at once, that's definitely more than enough. He might even be able to bring some back to Night City.

Back in his dormitory, Harry opened the bag. The green potion lay quietly inside, along with a piece of paper. He took it out and saw that it was Professor Snape's improved White Pepper potion recipe. He was even happier.

"I love you to death, Professor," Harry couldn't help but say.

"Achoo!" Professor Snape sneezed twice before going to bed.

Soon, the day of the Quidditch match arrived. Harry ate a hot dog at the Slytherin table to ensure he was full of energy, while Marcus kept nagging beside him, which Harry chose to ignore.

At 11 a.m., Harry entered the Slytherin dressing room and changed into his dark green clothes. Marcus was telling everyone what to do, but Marcus's tactics were at least despicable and underhanded, if not honorable. It was the first time Harry truly saw what his captain was really like.

Marcus turned to Harry, gave him a smile, and began to encourage him, but Harry just nodded perfunctorily.

"Alright, time's up! Let's go, the Quidditch Cup is ours!"

Harry stepped out of the dressing room, and a huge cheer reached his ears. Almost everyone from Hogwarts was there. He looked around the arena. Madam Hooch was the referee, and the old bee was watching them from the platform. The old bee even winked at Harry. Harry silently looked away, feeling that his eyes had been polluted. Even the prosthetic eye, tainted by his personality, seemed a little disgusted and was now flickering.

"Please hop on your flying brooms, all contestants," said Madam Hooch.

Harry mounted his broom, his muscles tensing, and as soon as the whistle blew, he launched himself into the air, high above the stadium, to wait for the thief.

"What incredible speed!" exclaimed Gryffindor commentator Lee Jordan. "Harry's speed is like that of an eagle-headed horseman."

All the players rose into the air, and Gryffindor Chaser Angelina skillfully dodged Derian's blockade and shot the ball into the goal from Miles' blind spot.

"Gryffindor scores first!" Lee Jordan shouted excitedly.

Marcus let out a disgruntled "tsk" to signal to Derian, and the two quickly flew to Angelina's side to interfere. Fred and George exchanged a smile, and George raised his wooden stick to hit the Quaffle and passed it to Fred. Fred used the force of the Quaffle to hit Marcus on the head, forcing Marcus to dodge. Angelina seized the opportunity and passed the Quaffle to Spinnet.

"Beautiful interference and pass!" Lee Jordan shouted.

Spinnet rushed toward the goal, the two batters had vanished, and she swept the Quaffle into the net with ease.

"Gryffindor scores another 10 points! Beautiful shot!"

Marcus turned to his two batters and said, "What are you doing? Forget Bernice (the seeker), distract the opposing batter!"

Lena and Evan (Slytherin batters) immediately shifted their focus, hitting the runner towards Fred and George. Just as Fred was about to hit the runner towards Marcus, Evan suddenly appeared behind him, raising his bat to smash it down on Fred's head. George noticed this and immediately rushed forward to block Evan's bat with the head of his broom, but because he couldn't stop in time, he crashed into Evan.

The whistle blew, and George was called for a foul. Although Evan intended to foul, he didn't commit a full foul, but George's collision with him was indeed a violation clearly stated in the rules.

"Slytherin's free throw!"

"Damn it, it was Evan who fouled, those despicable Slytherin bastards!" Lee Jordan shouted angrily, while Professor McGonagall pulled him away from the side.

Harry was very disappointed with Slytherin's playing style. A perfectly good match had been turned into a mess, and he wouldn't have wanted to play at all if it weren't for the need to lure Quirrell out.

After the Slytherin penalty kick, the game continued. Just then, a golden flash of light caught Harry's attention. He gripped his broom and swooped down. Bernice also spotted the Golden Snitch, but she was closer. Harry chose the fastest way to accelerate—swooping down—and quickly passed by Bernice. Bernice knew she couldn't outrun Harry, so she decided to swerve to the side to block his view. Harry quickly changed direction, but he was a little too slow, and the Golden Snitch disappeared from sight again.

Harry had no choice but to fly into the air again in hopes of finding the Golden Snitch. Just then, the Nimbus 2000 under Harry's buttocks suddenly started acting up, shaking violently like a mad bull.

"Damn Quirrell, I'll kill you sooner or later." Harry knew that Quirrell must have used his power. The Curious Case Files automatically activated the magic transmission diagram. Sure enough, there was a black magic path connecting Quirrell's eyes and Harry's broom, but there was also a blue path connecting Harry's broom and Snape's eyes.

"What's wrong with Harry?" Hagrid asked, puzzled. "He seems to have lost control of his broom."

Hermione and Ron had been watching Harry closely, and they naturally noticed the change. While Hermione was anxiously trying to figure out what to do, a dark figure suddenly flashed through Ron's mind, and he immediately shook Hermione.

"Is someone casting a curse on Harry's broom? Like Snape..."

Before Ron could finish speaking, Hermione suddenly realized something, and the image of the double serpent staff appeared in her eyes. She looked around the arena and saw two magical paths connecting Harry's broom and Snape's and Quirrell's eyes, but she couldn't tell if they were malicious.

Hermione immediately turned to Ron and said, "It could be Quirrell, or it could be Snape." Without waiting for Ron to ask, she immediately walked towards the stands where Quirrell and Snape were. She stumbled and squeezed through the crowd, finally reaching Quirrell's back. She then immediately set Quirrell's clothes on fire. Before Quirrell could notice anything amiss, she reached for Snape, crouched down behind him, and gave him a hard shove. Snape, caught off guard, stumbled and fell. Hermione then immediately turned and left, blending into the crowd.

At this moment, Harry's broom stopped shaking. His Crossroads broom had been watching Quirrell and Snape at maximum magnification and had seen everything. "Hermione, well done," he muttered, then continued his search for the Golden Snitch.

Just then, the Golden Snitch suddenly whizzed past his face. He immediately swooped down, and Bernice, of course, saw it too, rushing towards the Golden Snitch. She tried to use the same trick again, tilting her body towards Harry to block his view while she chased after the Snitch. Harry wouldn't fall into the same trap twice; he quickly rushed forward, completely ignoring Bernice. Bernice tilted slightly behind her and saw Harry getting closer and closer, about to collide with her. Helpless, she could only dodge.

Harry's gamble paid off. He chased after it at an even faster speed, almost diving at a ninety-degree angle. Just before he hit the ground, he reached out and grabbed the Golden Snitch, then quickly pulled up, his toes skimming across the pitch before soaring into the sky.

He hovered in the air, holding the Golden Snitch high in his hand. The crowd was silent, then erupted in cheers. Harry hadn't used any Slytherin tricks; he had even taken down the Golden Snitch in a way that was somewhat Gryffindor-like, earning everyone's respect.

Harry's face flushed with excitement, and he even brought the Golden Snitch close to his lips and kissed it.

"The match is over! Harry Potter has caught the Golden Snitch, and Slytherin is the winner!" The match concluded with Madam Hooch's announcement.
