American comic: I, JoJo, am going to heaven!

Chapter 55 The Strangeness of the Necklace

The Chevrolet sped along the desert highway all night.

After several hours of travel, they finally arrived at the Texas border from the border city of New Mexico.

This strange group, consisting of four men dressed in different styles and a dog, quickly attracted the attention of passersby.

But none of them paid any attention.

"What's our first step?" Thor asked excitedly. "So we're ready to go right away?"

"No," Jon shook his head, "Let's find out the local legends first."

"Since the Devil's Palm can move within Texas, there must be rumors about it here."

"Then let's split up," Coulson decided decisively. "Thor goes to the bar to gather information, Remy goes to the casino to inquire. Iggy, you—"

"Woof!" Before Coulson could finish speaking, Iggy turned and left.

As a dog with a free spirit, it will not obey human commands.

"Phil," Jon said, lighting a cigarette and looking up.

"Go check the police records with your FBI credentials. People here aren't so docile; there will be clues."

"And what about you?" Coulson asked. "How about we go together?"

"Me?" Jon turned to look at the unusually prominent church in the distance. "I'm going there."

He remembered that the formation of the Demon's Palm was related to the remains of a saint.

The so-called saint's remains will attract people with Stand potential to awaken their Stand abilities.

In other words, since there is a demon's palm here, and there are also religious things here.

In other words, that church might very well have kept relevant records.

So Jon decided to go there and try his luck.

"Understood," Coulson nodded.

The group then split up and took action separately.

As dusk fell, Jon walked along the bustling streets of Texas.

"What happened to this road?" He frowned, looking at the potholed surface. "It looks like it's been plowed."

"They've embezzled way too much money."

He shook his head, attributing it to corruption by the local government, and didn't think much of it.

Soon after, Jon finally arrived at the church.

He pushed open the church door, and a rich aroma of incense immediately wafted out.

"Tsk." Jon frowned unhappily, glancing around the empty church.

"Where is the priest?" His voice was particularly clear in the silent church.

That's strange, it shouldn't be like this.

Jon frowned slightly, instinctively becoming wary.

His gaze swept back and forth in the church, quickly passing over the murals on the walls and the burning candles.

Sudden.

Suddenly, a creaking sound came from the side door.

Jon whirled around, his crimson eyes meeting the priest's as he entered through the door in the dim light.

In the dim light, the tall Jon stood there quietly.

Golden hair, a blue-green hat, fair skin, and most importantly, those scarlet eyes!

The priest was startled; he could see a chilling coldness in those eyes.

It's like looking at a small loaf of bread; that's definitely not the way you look at your own kind!

Without a doubt, this is a devilish man!

Seeing this, the priest immediately gripped the blessed cross on his chest and said, trembling:

"You...you are..."

"Father..." A deep voice echoed in the church, "Where...did you just go?"

Tap, tap, tap, the riding boots made a crisp sound as they stepped on the floor.

"Gulp." The priest subconsciously swallowed.

He looked at the evil man before him, whose every move exuded the aura of a powerful figure, and his breathing gradually became rapid.

As Jon drew closer, the priest felt as if an invisible hand had gripped his throat.

This was the first time he had ever experienced the feeling of time dragging on endlessly.

"You, you, you..." the priest stammered, his courage vanishing instantly.

"Father." Jon had already stood opposite the priest, looking down at him with his hand inside his clothes.

The priest's eyes widened, and finally, mustering his courage, he loudly refused, "I cannot tell you the location of the contract!"

"This is my identification." At the same time, Jon pulled out his identification and showed it to the priest.

"Huh?" ×2

The two of them were stunned at the same time.

"You're not...sent by the devil?" the priest asked, his voice trembling.

"What devil?" Jon frowned. "I'm from the FBI, here to investigate something."

Upon hearing this, the priest finally breathed a sigh of relief. His legs went weak, but Jon caught him.

"Be careful, I can't afford to pay your medical bills."

"Then why were you looking at me like that just now!" The priest's back was soaked with sweat. "I thought I was going to meet God!"

Jon rubbed his temples in frustration.

It's all because of this damned conditioned reflex; every time he sees a priest's robe, he thinks of Pucci.

The thought of that bastard Pucci made him want to punch him, and he couldn't help it.

Thinking of this, he helped the priest sit down, and then pulled out the chair opposite him.

"Listen," he lowered his voice, "I need the record of the devil's palm; it's very important to me."

"Varied......"

Just as the priest was about to speak, Jon stopped him by raising his hand.

"Don't try to fool me, I know your church must have records."

The priest stared at Jon for a few seconds, and finally could only nod slowly.

"The Chosen Land will only be revealed to those chosen; satellites and maps are useless."

He opened the Bible and explained it to Jon:

"Legend has it that a saint was resurrected three days after his death, traveled far and wide, and then slept here in peace. His body was transformed into nine immortal parts..."

"So the Devil's Palm consists of these nine parts?" Jon's eyes flashed with a sharp light.

"And there's one more crucial point," the priest added:

"You must experience the suffering that the saints went through and walk along the path the saints took in life in order to find that place."

"Walk along..."

Just as Jon was about to speak, he suddenly raised his hand and covered his chest.

The redstone necklace worn by Aja beneath her clothes was getting slightly warm.

The residual ripple energy inside is rebounding uncontrollably.

"This is...this is like...like..."

He suddenly pulled out the necklace and stared at it, which had been blessed with coded messages by the blade.

"This is a warning, a counterattack! That's the true function of the necklace!"

suddenly!

"Bang!" The church door was violently slammed open by a gust of cold wind.

"Excuse me for disturbing you, Father."

Wu Xinmo, wrapped in a trench coat, drifted in, a mocking smile on his pale face.

"I just can't hold back anymore; you and your guest are talking way too much nonsense."

"It's the Witch's Heart Demon!" The priest grabbed the crucifix and was about to get up.

"Father..." Jon stood up and grabbed his shoulder. "Sit still."

He shielded the priest behind him.

"Are you crazy? That's—"

"I know who he is." Jon stared at the newcomer.

"You're the devil the priest was talking about?" Jon asked casually. "Is it you?"

"Oh?" Wu Xinmo's eyes were flippant and full of contempt. "Heh... I actually misjudged him."

"I never expected this!" He suddenly spread his arms wide exaggeratedly and shouted, "There's actually a human-vampire hybrid hiding here!"

"In this world, there are very few bastards like you!"

"Oh?"

Jon's head hung low, the shadow cast by his hat obscuring his face.

Only his slightly trembling shoulders betrayed his emotions—emotions like a volcanic eruption.

"A mongrel?"

When he looked up again, a ferocious grin spread across his face.

A dangerous glint flashed in the scarlet eyes beneath the brim of the hat.

"You bastard!"

Jon's fists clenched so tightly he cracked as he snatched the consecrated crucifix from the priest's hands.

"No one has ever dared to call me that to my face before; you're the first!"

"Are you prepared?"

Looking at the Demon Heart Witch in front of him, he unconsciously took a half step back.

But then, this action stunned even himself.

He, the son of Mephisto, a being who devours souls at will, is actually afraid?

This is impossible!
