Chapter 53 Iggy and Fury's Guesses
"It really is Iggy!"
Jon's pupils contracted sharply as he stared at the black and white dog in front of him, his face filled with disbelief.
"Jon, did you see that?"
Coulson's eyes widened as well: "This dog...it's a Stand user?"
"Hey!" Iggy suddenly spoke up, "What's your relationship with Dio?"
Upon hearing Iggy's words, Jon realized something was amiss.
"Wait...why can I understand a dog? I haven't been drinking!"
"Phil," he turned to Coulson, "can you understand me?"
"It's just making noise." Coulson shook his head, then realized, "Wait, you mean..."
"I can understand it," Jon said, his breath quickening. "And it could very well be the Iggy I know!"
"Hey kid!" Iggy scratched the ground impatiently. "Answer my question! The SPW Foundation showed me pictures of Dio! What's your relationship with that guy?"
Jon was silent for a moment, then finally looked up: "Although I don't want to admit it... Dio is indeed my biological father."
"What?!" Iggy's fur stood on end. "Jotaro and Polnareff didn't take that guy down? You stupid two-legged beast! And you too!"
"You little brat, born evil with Dior's blood, I'm coming for you!"
It suddenly summoned a substitute, and the Fool's claws aimed straight for Jon's throat, clearly having misunderstood something.
suddenly!
"Ora!" Star Platinum appeared automatically and shattered the Fool's claw with a single punch.
Looking at Star Platinum, who shattered his Stand.
"This is!" Iggy exclaimed in shock, stepping back. "Star Platinum? Jotaro's Stand? Wait..."
"Speaking of which," it scrutinized Jon, "your belt is the same as Jotaro's... what's going on..."
Jon opened his mouth, but didn't know how to explain.
But the most bewildered person on the scene was definitely Coulson. He couldn't understand the conversation at all, let alone why the two sides had suddenly started fighting.
In his view, Jon was talking to himself the whole time, while Iggy was barking, and he himself knew nothing.
After a moment, Iggy withdrew his stand-in, his tone suddenly turning somber:
"Hey! Where's Jotaro? Why hasn't the SPW Foundation contacted me yet?"
"JoTaro-san..." Jon calmly gazed at Iggy, "He's gone. As for this Stand..."
He raised his hand to touch his forehead, and to the astonishment of Coulson and Iggy, a disc slowly popped out from his forehead.
That's the disc of Star Platinum's Stand!
"This Star Platinum was entrusted to me by Jotaro before he died, during a battle."
"Do you understand, Iggy?"
After saying that, he pressed the disc back onto his forehead.
Jon found that he seemed to be able to calmly accept the deaths of his friends.
My emotions aren't as intense as they were at the beginning, but I still feel a little uncomfortable.
Upon hearing this, Iggy's dog face was filled with disbelief, because it recognized the 17-year-old Jotaro.
How could this be! The invincible Jotaro is dead. Iggy kept questioning himself.
No!
Just as Iggy was about to press for more information, Jon had already turned to leave.
"Phil, I'm leaving."
"Uh..." Coulson hesitated for a moment, then quickly followed.
He knew Jon; when the time came, Jon would tell him.
This is the tacit understanding between the two.
"Stop right there!" Iggy manipulated a sand wall to block the gate. "Don't even think about leaving until you explain yourself!"
"Iggy".
Jon stopped and turned to look down at Iggy, his eyes very calm.
"JO Taro-san once said that your greatest wish is to live a peaceful and uneventful life."
"But he disrupted your life in his attempt to deal with Dior, and also made you, sigh... Anyway, he has always regretted it."
"so!"
Jon suddenly raised his voice and pointed at Iggy, who was standing there dumbfounded.
"Don't follow! As the last survivor, your mission is over!"
Upon hearing this, Iggy froze on the spot, sensing concern in Jon's resolute eyes.
After a long silence, it finally lowered its head, let out a whimper, and turned to leave in the opposite direction.
Watching Iggy's departing figure, a hint of loneliness flashed in Jon's eyes.
He couldn't involve Iggy again; Iggy had already died once, and that would be too selfish.
Finally, only after Iggy's figure had completely disappeared did he light a cigarette and take a deep drag.
"Sorry," Jon said to Coulson, "I got a little out of control just now."
"That dog...is it special to you?" Coulson leaned against the door.
"Jotaro, Iggy, Dio... It sounds like you've been through a lot."
"Yes," Jon said, a look of reminiscence in his eyes. "Phil, I also saved the world."
Coulson immediately tensed up.
Knowing Jon as he did, he understood that those casual words were definitely not a joke.
Could it be that a world-destroying crisis really occurred somewhere unknown to S.H.I.E.L.D.
"No need to think about it anymore," Jon said, straightening up from against the wall. "Phil, can we keep today's events a secret?"
"About Iggy?" Coulson hesitated, standing up. "This... I... I'll take a look."
"Don't worry, I won't make things difficult for you." Jon patted him on the shoulder. "Just don't disturb it or enter it into the database, that's enough."
"No problem," Coulson immediately agreed. "I'll only report to Fury, don't worry."
"Thanks." Jon turned and walked toward the Chevrolet.
It wouldn't hurt to only tell Fury, after all, that one-eyed old fox is best at keeping secrets.
Back at base, Coulson stood in Fury's office and gave a detailed report on what he had seen and heard that day.
"According to current intelligence, Jon Snow's biological father is named Dio, who is an enemy of Jotaro. The newly appeared Iggy is also hostile to Dio."
"Oh?"
Fury's fingers flew across the keyboard, and the relationship diagram in his private database—that little Rubik's Cube—gradually came together.
"It seems the Psychology Department's prediction was correct; Jon did indeed experience significant trauma."
"He mentioned a friend named Visa who has the ability to manipulate global weather."
Colson added:
"Didn't we suspect that his aversion to social interaction stemmed from witnessing his friend's death?"
"So... the current situation is quite clear."
Fury suddenly stood up and pushed the holographic projection toward Coulson.
In the image, Dior's name is marked in blood red, extending into multiple branches.
"Dio the vampire orchestrated a global conspiracy."
"Jotaro's squad went to stop him, and after paying a heavy price, they finally defeated Dio."
Fury's single eye gleamed sharply, clearly indicating his confidence in his reasoning.
"In the end, only Jon and Iggy survived, while Vesa died. In other words, these were the roots of his psychological trauma."
"We need to think of a way. Future Avengers can't have such severe trauma; it's too unstable."
"Understood." Coulson nodded; as a friend, he also wanted to heal Jon's emotional wounds.
"By the way, sir," Coulson suddenly remembered something, "how do you explain that Jon Snow inherited Jotaro's Star Platinum?"
He stepped forward: "Would you allow your enemy's son to inherit your double?"
"This..." Fury narrowed his one eye slightly, tapping his finger twice on the table. "We still lack information."
"never mind."
Suddenly, he waved his hand and said, "Let's leave it at that. Let bygones be bygones."
Fury, no, Talos, stood up, turned to face the floor-to-ceiling window, lost in thought.
After a long time, he finally made his decision. He said:
"From this day forward, Jon Snow will never be included on the special personnel list again. This matter is hereby closed."
Consider it a favor I'm doing you, Jon.
"drop--"
Suddenly, a computer notification interrupted him. Talos glanced down at the screen, his expression turning serious.
"Agent Coulson!"
"Sir!" Coulson immediately straightened up.
Normally, when Fury uses this tone, it means there's an urgent mission.
"Enya has confessed," Talos turned the screen to him, "Her Stand power comes from the palm of a demon in the desert."
"I'll give you five spots. Form an exploration team immediately."
A glint of light flashed in his single eye, indicating that he was confident and prepared.
"Depart within 24 hours, target—the devil's palm!"
"Yes, sir!" Coulson shouted, tapping his heel against the ground.
