American comic: I, JoJo, am going to heaven!

Chapter 31 Tony's Urgent Call!

A Maybach sped across the sky, cutting through the clouds.

Because they had notified the authorities in advance, their flight proceeded without any obstacles.

"Wow!" Coulson exclaimed loudly after taking a bite of his donut. "Not bad speed, but still not quite as fast as my Laura!"

"Then let me drive!" Jon had to raise his voice.

The open car windows let in a lot of wind, so they couldn't hear each other talking at all.

"You're not flying well!" Coulson yelled in his ear. "I'm afraid we'll crash!"

"fart!"

Jon glanced at Coulson's blissful expression and knew that the guy was just making excuses.

"Don't worry about the details!" Coulson laughed, tossing a donut over. "Something sweet will cheer you up, Jon!"

"Who's it that's making me feel bad..." Jon muttered, but still obediently took the donut and started eating it.

After flying for only an hour, it was already nearly dusk.

So Coulson had no choice but to park the car next to a gas station on the side of the road.

"Looks like I'll have to spend the night here." Jon got out of the car and stretched.

"Indeed." Coulson checked the fuel gauge. "Did you bring any bedtime reading?"

"Bedtime reading?" Jon looked bewildered. "Why bring that thing?"

"To pass the time, I can't sleep at night without some magazines in this desolate place."

Colson shrugged.

"This is based on experience."

"Simple," Jon said dismissively. "I can force myself to fall asleep."

For Jon Snow, who possesses the vampire bloodline of the JOJO world, this kind of physical control is a piece of cake.

"Really?" Coulson's eyes widened. "You're not kidding?"

"Of course it's true."

"That's an enviable ability." Coulson patted Jon on the shoulder and winked mischievously. "I was thinking of giving you a bedtime story."

"The really exciting kind."

"Wait a minute," Jon suddenly became interested and changed his mind:

"I'm suddenly very interested in the book you brought. Remember to let me see it later."

"No problem." Coulson gestured with his chin toward the convenience store. "What would you like to eat? It's on me."

"Wet donuts, I guess," Jon replied casually. "I'll go fill up the car with gas."

The two split up.

Jon walked toward the gas station and absentmindedly picked up the gas nozzle.

This time he was going to fill up the gas tank, but not because he had suddenly become generous.

Instead, this time, a certain black guy who loves wearing trench coats reimbursed his expenses.

While Jon was refueling, two armed men slipped silently into the convenience store.

Jon, engrossed in texting Skye, was completely unaware.

Suddenly, Jon's cell phone rang.

"Hey, hey, what....."

Then, Tony's smug face appeared on the screen.

"What's going on?" Jon pressed the answer button. "Did you two fight again?"

"It's about Pepper, but not an argument." Tony's voice was unusually serious. "Where are you now?"

"Hmm...it should arrive around noon tomorrow? What's up?"

Jon also sensed that something was wrong.

It was as if the memories in his mind were attacking him again.

He'd had a bad feeling for the past few days, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.

"You need to come back immediately. Vanke and Hammer have joined forces, and they might be planning something big at the expo."

"Pepper is right there! I need you back to protect her!"

"An expo?"

Jon's face instantly darkened. He remembered. After a moment of silence, he gritted his teeth and forced out a few words:

"I'll be right back."

After saying that, Jon turned his gaze to the convenience store and walked towards it.

The atmosphere inside the convenience store was unusually tense.

"Hands up! Or I'll blow your head off!"

One of the robbers roared rudely.

"Hurry up! No tricks!"

Another person chimed in, pressing the gun directly against the female shop assistant's forehead.

The young female shop assistant was trembling uncontrollably, tears welling up in her eyes; clearly, she had never encountered such a situation before.

"Whose Maybach is that outside?!" the robber demanded sharply.

"It's mine, uh no..."

"To be precise," Coulson slowly rose from behind the shelf, "it belongs to my friend."

The two robbers exchanged a glance.

One man pointed at the female shop assistant, while another pointed a gun at Coulson, shouting loudly:

"Just throw the keys over here, don't try anything funny!"

"Okay, okay, don't get excited..." Coulson pretended to throw the keys, but suddenly his pupils contracted and he stopped.

"What are you dawdling for!" the robber roared impatiently. "Do you want to die?"

But at that very moment, both of them felt a chill run down their spines.

It was as if something terrible was standing behind them.

One of them glanced at the ground instinctively.

Then they saw a shadow much taller than them, completely covering their shadows.

"Varied--"

The robber turned around in alarm, only to see Jon raise his hand to adjust the brim of his hat, and say with a grim face:

That's enough.

boom!boom!

Jon delivered two powerful punches to the faces of the two robbers, and with two loud thuds, they fell to the ground.

"It's time to go, Coulson. Now."

Jon's tone was eerily calm. After speaking, he turned and left the convenience store.

Coulson swallowed hard.

Because it was the first time he had ever seen Jon Snow so angry, and to be honest, it was a little scary.

Thinking of this, he quickly placed a stack of banknotes on the counter, glancing at the two robbers with deformed jaws on the ground as he left.

"How pathetic," he muttered to himself, grabbing a donut and hurrying after them.

Inside the car, Coulson fastened his seatbelt and cautiously asked, "What happened?"

"Back to New York," Jon said, his voice low and somber.

He didn't want his facial emotions to affect Coulson.

"My aunt is in danger."

Those six simple words instantly put Coulson on edge.

He didn't ask any more questions and started the engine directly, because now was not the time to go through the formalities and report.

In his view, time is more important than anything else.

After all, you can't be a good agent if you just follow the rules, a fact Coulson knows all too well.

Therefore, he planned to act first and report later, and then issue an explanation.

"I understand!" Coulson pressed the button on the flight system.

With a roar, the Maybach's tires deformed, and the car steadily lifted into the air.

The next second, the modified Maybach launched into the air and flew towards New York.

After a while, Jon asked:

"How much longer?"

"190 kilometers from New York," the vehicle's AI coldly reported. "Estimated arrival time: 14 minutes."

"Vanke..." Jon clenched his fists, staring intently ahead. "Coulson, can it go any faster?"

"This engine has reached its limit at this speed!" Coulson's knuckles turned white as he gripped the steering wheel.

"If it accelerates any further, this car will be totaled soon!"

"This is Stark Industries' product." Jon's clenched fist was bulging with veins. "Accelerate."

Coulson gritted his teeth and floored the accelerator.

The engine suddenly started making an overloaded noise, and even the speedometer needle in front of us was swinging wildly from side to side.

Looking at the ever-changing scene outside the window, Jon's forehead veins bulged, and his eyes under the brim of his hat were very cold and hard, clearly suppressing something.

What Jon hates most in his life are those who use others for their own selfish desires and wantonly trample on the weak!

There are also those who threaten their own family members.

Now, Vanke has achieved both of these.

He has completely crossed the line that Jon set for himself.

"Vanke...you bastard!"

Jon spat out the name through gritted teeth, his knuckles cracking.

"I'll show you what it means to be unable to get up again in a moment!"
