Chapter 18 The Whereabouts of Aja's Red Stone

restaurant.

"Hmm... let me see." Jon picked up the menu, glanced at it, and marked a few dishes. "That'll do."

Soon, the food was served.

As the waiter bowed and withdrew, he grinned at Skye, who had just squeezed through the crowd: "A VIP set meal, is that prestigious enough?"

Skye slumped heavily into her chair, staring wide-eyed at Jon.

"Prestige?" Skye sneered. "Who was it that just said we were here to do serious business, not to be gluttons?"

"This is called role-playing." Jon forked some foie gras and spread it on his bread. "How can Mr. Speedwagon of the SPW Foundation eat a hamburger?"

"Hmph." Skye also picked up her knife and fork and started eating.

"Why do you look like a lonely, resentful woman?" Jon said with a smile.

"I want to see how someone continues to fool me."

"You're so easily teased," Jon said seriously. "Besides, we agreed before we came that you had to do as I say, didn't we?"

"Yes..." Skye clenched her back teeth together, "That's right."

"So..." Jon smiled smugly.

"Now, I'm the boss, and you're the newbie. You can't go wrong if you listen to me."

Jon slowly cut off a piece of steak, put it in his mouth, and said.

"So, rookie, what's our target this time?"

Skye rolled her eyes.

"Isn't our plan to infiltrate high society and then find out where Redstone is?"

As she spoke, she took a bite of the steak, the tenderness of the meat making her squint her eyes.

"Hmph." Jon pursed his lips, swirling his wine glass in a pretentious manner.

"Of course I know. But don't you think it feels more like a spy movie?"

Skye was about to retort when her pupils suddenly contracted and her expression froze on her face.

"Boss Jon," she said in a low voice, her tone oddly as if she were suppressing a laugh, "you seem to be... about to get into trouble."

"Bad luck?" Jon scoffed dismissively, tilting his head back and downing the red wine in one gulp.

"What a joke, it's impossible to be unlucky."

He smugly wagged his index finger.

"And in all my life, I've always been the one who makes others suffer."

This isn't just boasting.

Having inherited Dior's bloodline, he indeed possesses incredible luck that is hard for ordinary people to imagine.

From being adopted by Joseph to inexplicably obtaining the Platinum Star and defeating the priest, his life has been incredibly smooth, as if he had a cheat code.

However, the next second, his smile froze on his face.

A hand gently rested on his shoulder from behind.

"Jon?" The familiar voice sent a chill down his spine. "Is that you?"

Jon's fork clattered onto the plate.

He mechanically turned his head, meeting Pepper's probing gaze.

"Jon?" Pepper frowned. "Why aren't you saying anything?"

"Ah! Pepper! What a...what a coincidence!"

Jon laughed stiffly, and said:

What are you doing in Monaco?

When Jon Snow said those words, his heart was bleeding.

If he had known Pepper was coming to Monaco, he definitely would have insisted on coming along no matter what.

"It's Auntie," Pepper corrected, crossing her arms. "And besides, I should be asking you that question."

Jon's mind raced. "Well... I'm busy with important matters!"

As he spoke, he straightened his back, "It's something very important!"

"Serious business?" Pepper raised an eyebrow. "Shouldn't your serious business right now be going back to school?"

"Go to school?" Jon scoffed, crossing his arms. "That lousy school can no longer accommodate someone as good as me."

"To put it simply," Skye suddenly interjected, "he was fired."

"Uh..." Jon's expression instantly fell.

"I got fired? How could that be? That shouldn't be happening."

Pepper was about to say something.

Just then, the restaurant's TV suddenly switched to a live broadcast of the race.

Tony Stark's smug face appeared on the screen; he was leaning against a flashy race car, flashing his signature roguish grin at the camera.

"Hey, isn't the point of owning a race car to drive it?"

The television camera slowly panned across Tony's jewel-encrusted race car.

When the close-up shot is focused on the center of the steering wheel, a red gemstone refracts the sunlight with dazzling brilliance.

Pepper's expression kept changing. "What is he going to do?!"

aside.

Jon's pupils contracted sharply. He slowly set down his glass and said:

Skye...did you see that?

"It's the Aja Redstone." Skye's eyes narrowed. "Right in the center of the steering wheel."

Their eyes met briefly, then they both stood up and turned to leave.

"Natalie! Wait, Jon! Where are you going?"

Pepper's shouts were drowned out by the cacophony of voices.

She watched the two disappear around the corner, feeling extremely frustrated.

On one hand, Tony is about to engage in dangerous racing, and on the other hand, his cheap nephew has run off again without saying goodbye.

"Happy! Get to the restaurant right now!" she yelled into her phone, then turned to Natasha, who had just walked over, and said:

"Go find Jon Snow. The blond, red-eyed guy, almost two meters tall, he doesn't look like a good person—that's him!"

Natasha raised an eyebrow: "You really want to find your nephew?"

"That's right." Pepper rubbed her temples. "Once you find him, just tie him up and throw him in the car!"

After they separated, Natasha reached under her hair and gave instructions into her earpiece:

"Find me someone, blond with red eyes, tall and strong, uh..."

Natasha paused for a moment, then added after thinking for a second:

"The kind of person who doesn't look like a good person at first glance."

"YES, sir!"

Meanwhile, Jon and Skye stopped together at the end of the corridor.

"Go back to the room and hack into the arena system," Jon instructed quickly. "I need to check the purity of that redstone."

Skye grabbed his tie: "Are you crazy? There are race cars everywhere!"

"Trust me," Jon said, loosening his tie and slinging his suit jacket over his shoulder.

"I'm afraid something might happen again, so I have to go right away. I'm off."

Before Skye could respond, he had already dashed off like an arrow.

Once the restraints were removed, his speed was almost inhuman, even though he wasn't entirely human.

At this moment, Jon remembered that this was the plot of Iron Man 2.

However, he can only remember it when he sees a familiar place.

He vaguely remembered that Vanke would soon make a grand entrance and then, with a flick of its whip, split Tony's race car in two.

If Vanke were to shatter the Aizhe Redstone before he had determined its purity, things would be disastrous.

Assuming the red stone embedded in Tony's steering wheel is indeed a perfect Aja red stone,

If it breaks, then he will have no chance to defeat any potential Pillar Men.

Because that would cause the Pillar Men to fall back into slumber, only to awaken when a new, perfect Aja Red Stone appears.

But by then, Jon would have been long dead.

While thinking about these things, Jon had already run to the entrance of the arena.

"Hey sir, you can't go in here. There's a very dangerous match going on inside."

Two uniformed security guards came over and stopped Jon.

"understood."

Jon Snow didn't stop, and Star Platinum behind him raised his hand and punched him twice.

A moment later, Jon stood at the exit of the arena, with two bodies slamming heavily to the ground behind him.
