Lord of Mysteries: Taiyi

Chapter 98 Taiyin? Lilith? Taiyi? Me?
Skipping all the rituals, Kurt directly prayed: "Anchor of the outside world, you are the giver of nature, you are the supreme one who holds harmony."
"I beseech your attention, I beseech you to bestow upon me the new knowledge corresponding to the 'Storyteller' path."
After Kurt finished praying, he heard illusory, layered prayers in his ears. This should have been a normal phenomenon, as it had occurred before when he used the name of the Old One. However, this time, something unexpected happened at the end.
After Kurt finished reading the last word, he suddenly felt a daze. Then he felt his spirit body begin to rapidly shrink into the Protoss body, collapsing and shrinking until it completely merged into the "Infinite Collapse" floating there.
When Kurt recovered, he found himself in an unfamiliar space.
Kurt is now atop a black mountain peak, where layers upon layers of dark clouds cover what should be the ground.
Every now and then, bolts of lightning, white and red in streaks and as thick as giant pythons, streaked through the clouds, disrupting the surrounding cloud cover.
It was bottomless; even as lightning churned, looking down revealed only pitch-black clouds.
The loud noise it emitted hit Kurt's head, making his thoughts somewhat chaotic—his spirituality began to dissipate, his memories began to peel away and disappear. Kurt clutched his head in pain, his body began to twist and deform, and countless buds of flesh sprouted from his body as if to break through Kurt's inner lining.
He then staggered backward and fell straight down, letting out a painful growl. His fingers began to "evaporate," and a thread appeared on his fingertip. As if something was pulling the thread, the thread flew off Kurt's body.
Just as his fingers were about to disappear completely, he fell backward and was caught steadily by a seat.
After sitting on the throne, Kurt heard countless illusory prayers echoing in his ears: "Variables beyond the boundary of constants,"
"Those who return home against the tide of change."
"You are the reflection of law, the rift of truth! The Moon!"
These prayers quickly stabilized Kurt's emotions, memories, and spirituality.
Kurt, panting heavily, felt his humanity re-emerge and slowly opened his eyes, still somewhat fearful.
Beneath the Black Peak, everything remained the same, with layers of dark clouds and red and white lightning still flashing through them, but the roar of the lightning had disappeared, replaced by a faint, comforting sound of prayer.
Then, according to Kut's observation, faint glimmers of light could be seen in the clouds far from the main peak.
Near the main peak, however, a huge light shone through the dark clouds.
Those faint lights in the distance were probably the source of the prayers just now—Kut thought habitually.
The Yin really does refer to myself. Didn't "Yin" appear a couple of hundred years ago? I only came up with this clumsy name three months ago, how could it be—
Could it be that I've been "asleep" for two hundred years? How could history be so similar then? The sudden appearance of a being close to, or even being, a true god on Earth—how could it not cause massive historical upheavals?
This is neither scientific nor mystical!
What exactly is the Taiyin (the Moon), and why is its faith directed towards me? This is the biggest question right now.
Taiyin was the former master of this space. He has either perished or fallen into a deep slumber, waiting for an opportunity to be resurrected, so he left me as a backup plan.
Why does my subconscious tell me the honorific name "Taiyi" instead of "Taiyin"?
So now all the faith brought by the followers of "Taiyin" has benefited me?
There's another strange question. I almost lost my way, or rather, lost control, which means this action was very dangerous. Why didn't Lilith stop me?
He clearly intervened in the previous dream divination. Did He not know the danger here, or—He knew I would obtain the anchor point that the Taiyin believers had obtained!
A bold guess suddenly popped into Kurt's mind: Taiyin, Taiyin—if translated into Chinese, it means "moon"! Could it be that Taiyin is just a costume of Lilith?
Lilith prepared these anchor points for me in advance! Or perhaps Lilith and Taiyin have a very unusual relationship, more like mortal enemies, and then she used an unknown method to "graft" Taiyin's faith onto me?
Lilith wants to support me to become the new Taiyin, to take her place and then prevent her resurrection.
This somewhat explains why Lilith supported me so strongly —
He was being too kind to himself; before he came to Backlund, only his mother and Dunley had ever been this kind to him.
After being transported to Backlund, I'll also need to add Lori—
Could it be—what am I thinking? Kurt quickly dismissed the fantasy that had just crossed his mind and returned to normal thinking.
But if that's the case, my previous guess that I would become Taiichi in the future would be overturned.
It seems I need to find an opportunity to ask the Mother Goddess a question, to see if she knows anything, or can tell me something.
Kurt felt a little calmer and decided to stop thinking about it for now. Some things shouldn't be thought about too much, as it would not only waste time and life but also bring unnecessary anxiety.
Simply put, don't worry unnecessarily, just focus on the present. Kurt comforted himself with this thought and began to carefully examine this space entrance. This place seemed to be similar to a source castle. Kurt immediately tried to stand up and found that his body was already locked by some old, huge iron chains. These chains seemed to extend from the void and bind Kurt's wrists and ankles, making him unable to move.
Kurt tried to see the end of the chains and found that most of them came from behind the throne.
Moreover, these iron chains had no weight, yet they still prevented Kurt from getting up.
Actively using extraordinary abilities is also ineffective against objects in this space.
He could only see layers upon layers of dark clouds in a fan-shaped area in front of him. In the far distance were the points of light representing the prayers of the believers of "Taiyin". The brightest area in front of him was probably generated by his own prayers.
Then Kurt tried to look up, but found that a powerful pressure prevented him from looking straight ahead or down; he couldn't lift his head.
There was probably something terrifying above his head; Kurt initially guessed it was the true form of his "infinite collapse" source matter.
And his own "throne," Kurt, could only be seen to be carved with simple, perfectly regular lines.
Kurt felt a little flustered. He subconsciously looked at his left hand and stepped over the chains covered in red rust. He saw that "God's Gift" had disappeared, but he was still wearing the clothes he was wearing in the bedroom, a simple men's plaid shirt.
"Won't I be unable to log out?" Kurt couldn't help but wonder. He tried silently repeating, "Log out."
Then a dizzying, plummeting sensation overwhelmed Kurt's senses. When he opened his eyes again, his spirit was back in the bedroom. The enhanced time perception brought by "The Clockmaker" allowed him to compare the speed of time passing inside and outside, which was 1:1.
After confirming that he could still get out, Kurt breathed a sigh of relief.
Having the idea of going back to take another look, he returned to the mountain peak once again.
"I could just think about it and get in," Kurt sighed, then began to conduct a series of experiments.
He first turned his gaze to the distant area belonging to the "Taiyin" faith, and then tried to probe his spirituality into it, only to find that he was separated by a barrier. He could only hear the name of Taiyin, but could not see the content of the prayer or the scene.
It seems that all it can offer is faith.
Perhaps his "permissions" weren't high enough. Instead of being annoyed, Kurt turned his spirituality and gaze to the nearest ball of light.
"Anchor of the outside world, you are the giver of nature, you are the supreme one who governs harmony. ————"
He heard his own prayers and saw the illusory scene of himself praying in his bedroom.
Hmm, I can roughly see the outline of a face, which can be used to identify strangers, that's good — after Kurt's spirit entered this point of light, he discovered that he had gained many more operational permissions in his mind, including bestowing and blessing.
These permissions were as if Kurt knew them by nature; he could use them directly.
"It seems I can take the abilities of a storyteller or a watchmaker and 'bestow' them upon my real-world self—?!"
