Lord of Mysteries: Taiyi

Chapter 95 Good evening, Miss Justice.

Chapter 95 Good evening, Miss Justice.

Kurt invoked the Mother Goddess directly for two reasons: first, to demonstrate the authority of the matter, and second, to prove that his relationship with the Mother Goddess was extraordinary. This made many of his subsequent actions seem more reasonable, such as suddenly revealing some highly secret knowledge, like Adam actually being Amon's father.

And this isn't exactly a lie, is it? The Mother Goddess is incredibly responsive to my every wish; as long as I pray to her name, I'm guaranteed at least one physical examination and blessing.

Kurt spoke with great certainty and did not "test" the Fool, making it clear that he was absolutely certain of the truth.

Mr. Kurt can communicate directly with the Earth Mother Goddess. It's like asking the goddess questions and she answers them. Audrey felt a bit surreal just thinking about it, and even her curiosity about the Forsaken Land was somewhat diminished. She really wanted to know how the Earth Mother Goddess communicated with Mr. Kurt.

However, Audrey thought again that she could also talk to the god-like "Fool" and even see him, although this was probably just the "Fool" in disguise, something that many people could never do in their entire lives.

At least Audrey's two brothers and parents couldn't do it —

Alger suddenly felt a strange mix of emotions, as if his past life had become somewhat hazy. But he still managed to say, "Thank you for your explanation, Mr. Lover. I will expedite the search for clues about the Nihilistic Cult for you."

Kurt nodded naturally and said nothing more.

At this moment, Audrey remembered Kurt's advice: to try joining the Psychological Alchemy Society to improve herself.

Although Mr. Kurt is an Extraordinary being affiliated with the Church of Mother Earth, and Mr. Fool should not recommend that members join other Extraordinary organizations, Kurt's remarks just now made her realize that Kurt is fundamentally different from her.

He is essentially the middleman between the two gods, while he himself is currently just an "ordinary person".

So after a moment of silence, Audrey spoke up: "Mr. Fool, may I join an organization similar to the Psychological Alchemy Society, if I have the opportunity?"

Klein leaned back and chuckled, "Fine, that's your prerogative. My only request is that you don't reveal the existence of the Tarot Society."

Given Kurt's identity, Klein's meaning is clear: only a god-like figure could know about this, and it must be kept absolutely secret under other circumstances.

Klein also tentatively determined that the Earth Mother Goddess seemed unaware that he was now only a Sequence Nine, or rather, that she hadn't told her lover about it—her lover had shown sufficient respect.

Huh? I'm a Night Watcher, Miss Justice wants to join other secret organizations, the Hanged Man has some connection to the Church of Storms, and Mr. Kurt is a chosen one of the Earth Mother—

If it weren't for Mr. Kurt's continued loyalty to the Mother Goddess, they might have been called a "Rebel Alliance"? A "Gathering of Traitors"? Klein fell into deep thought.

The rest of the party involved Audrey asking how to invite others to the party, and Mr. Fool providing the criteria and evaluation requirements.

Finally, Mr. Fool declared in a majestic voice, "My name shall not be uttered without my permission."

Silver City, Derrick's House.

Derrick was taking advantage of the relatively frequent lightning during the "daytime" to watch as his family busied themselves with processing black-faced grass and the corpse of a low-level monster at home.

These past two days, his usually quiet home has been filled with a lively "little sister," making him feel as if he's in a dream.

Alice would naturally join in the work in Silver City, such as planting rye grass and weaving clothes, just like me, going out early and returning late.

What pleased Derrick even more was the significant decrease in the death toll in Silver City recently, and the sudden increase in his family's food supply.

Alice looked at the terrifying monster and the withered black grass with some displeasure. She had tried many methods recently, but still couldn't overcome the environment around Silver City. At most, she could only conjure some illusory crops, which couldn't actually satisfy her hunger.

"If only Dad, or rather, Mom were here."

A short while later, Alice, having finished cooking, called over Derrick, who was still in a daze.

"Derrick, dinner's ready."

Derrick realized what was happening, smiled slightly, scratched his head, got up and walked over, saying, "Thank you for your help, Alice."

Alice presented Derrick with the roughly processed monster meat, from which she had removed the poison.

Meanwhile, outside Silver City, another Alice, unchanged, is searching for edible monsters.

"Your Excellency, we cannot find out where those strange monster corpses came from, nor can we determine which corpses are strange."

Colin looked down at Silver City, frowned, and asked, "Are you sure there haven't been any casualties yet?"

The shadowy figure bowed and said, "No, eating those strange monster corpses only causes—unconsciously revealing the truth, or becoming unusually enthusiastic about singing, accompanied by dancing, or falling into extreme euphoria and starting to work like crazy. But there have been absolutely no deaths, although there was one injury; the person who was dancing and singing got beaten up by the others. And recently, the casualty rate of the patrol team has decreased significantly—"

Colin Iliad stroked his gray hair and sighed, "In the next few days, try to get the residents to eat black-faced grass as much as possible, strengthen surveillance of anything unusual in the city, and conduct small-scale searches of suspicious individuals."

After saying this, he took one last deep look into the darkness and said nothing more.

Backlund, Queens, the Earl of Hall's mansion.

Having just finished showering, Audrey was reading a psychology book in her locked bedroom, feeling rather cheerful. Susie, meanwhile, was engrossed in reading a newspaper that Audrey had prepared for her on the floor beside her.

Just as Audrey was getting into the flow, a sudden gust of cold wind blew the pages of the book, causing them to turn slightly.

Audrey felt a chill and panicked for a moment, but ultimately chose to activate her spiritual vision.

Then she saw the messenger who belonged to Mr. Kurt, whom she had met once before.

Sorin, holding a pen in one hand and a letter in the other, concealed them within her wide, ornate robe, surrounded by starlight that had not yet faded.

His golden ahoge (cowlick) remained firmly erect, his expression somewhat indifferent. Upon seeing Audrey, a small hand carrying a letter emerged from his wide sleeve.

She said in her somewhat broken Rune, "Hello, this is a letter."

Then her gaze was drawn to Susie behind Audrey, as if she were curious about what she was.

Susie seemed to sense her gaze, and even without activating her spiritual vision, she looked at the letter that appeared in the void with some confusion.

Audrey took the letter.

"Good evening, Miss Justice."
