Chapter 92 The 5th Tarot Meeting

Chapter 92 The Fifth Tarot Meeting

Above the gray fog, in the magnificent temple, an ancient and mottled bronze table rests quietly.

Klein, shrouded in a thick gray-white mist, sat at the head of the table, watching as the still indistinct figures of Justice and the others appeared at their seats.

Hmm, Miss Justice's mood isn't quite right. Klein, who had been keeping his spiritual vision on to prevent any accidents, noticed that something was off about Miss Justice. He was a little nervous and conflicted, and quickly glanced at Mr. "Lover"—Klein didn't make any extra movements, he just had a moment of doubt in his mind.

Audrey Hall was nervous because she had discovered Mr. Lover's identity "offline." This wouldn't have been a big deal, but Mr. Kurt was a very powerful chosen one!

If Audrey can recognize him, then Mr. Lover might be able to deduce that she is "justice" by comparing her statements at the Tarot meeting with her behavior in reality.

Audrey had been prepared, but upon realizing she was above the gray fog, she still tensed up, afraid of being recognized.

Kurt pretended not to notice Audrey's unusual expression, inwardly sighing that Audrey was still an inexperienced young girl at this stage, and that this could easily lead the Hanged Man to misunderstand something.

He could probably understand why Audrey was nervous. He was a chosen one of the gods, and Audrey didn't know if Mr. Fool knew his identity yet, but she already knew his identity and might be afraid that he would recognize her and seek revenge.

Or perhaps after meeting herself twice, she realizes she might be a "spy" of the Mother Goddess and struggles with whether or not to tell the Fool Klein?

Of course, Audrey wasn't so nervous as to forget to greet him; she still gracefully lifted her skirt and bowed to Mr. Fool.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Fool!"

"Good afternoon, Mr. Hanged Man!"

"Good afternoon, my lover!"

Oh no, I was too nervous—Audrey's face flushed red. After Mr. Fool smiled and nodded, she quickly sat down as if nothing had happened.

Alger had witnessed everything that had just happened—the Lover and Justice were both in Backlund. Judging from Justice's expression, they hadn't met before, had they? Justice's expression was strange; was she afraid of the Lover? Why?

After finishing her greetings, Audrey quickly said to break the awkward silence, "Mr. Fool, I've found another page of Emperor Roselle's diary."

"Very good, you've paid off all your debts." Klein said thoughtfully, looking at Audrey.

His conclusion was similar to that of the Hanged Man. Miss Justice was afraid of Mr. Lover—they might have already met, but what made Miss Justice feel afraid and conflicted?

Kurt, looking completely at ease, also said, "Mr. Fool, I've also found two new pages of the diary."

Klein tapped the edge of the bronze table slowly with his long, slender fingers and said in a calm tone, "Give my regards to Mother Earth, my lover."

The Fool's voice was ancient and profound, resounding in the ears of the three righteous men.

The Earth Mother Goddess?! Alger was deeply shaken and dared not look at the Fool for a moment. He looked at his lover with some shock, watching his reaction.

Phew~ Mr. Fool really knew—he really is a god, because he already knew his lover's true identity. Miss Justice was the least shocked of all.

Kurt was genuinely taken aback for a moment, then reacted quickly, unable to control his expression, revealing a look of shock. He stood up and bowed slightly. Of course, he quickly regained his composure, as if it were a normal thing to do, and said with a slight "tremor," "I will, Mr. Fool."

The lover is a chosen one of the Earth Mother Goddess, the kind who can receive divine pronouncements. Mr. Fool is giving Mr. Lover a warning, and he seems completely indifferent to his status as a chosen one!

No, the Lover's appearance doesn't seem like a disguise that has been exposed—it's very likely that the Earth Mother and Mr. Fool made an unimaginable deal, and Mr. Lover is part of this cooperation.

Mr. Fool is increasingly resembling an ancient god awakened from antiquity—now re-establishing, or rather rebuilding, connections with the true gods of the real world! And the Tarot Club is likely part of his resurrection, using us to do his bidding—Rossel's diary holds a great secret, mysterious knowledge that even a god-like figure like Mr. Fool would covet.

Alger's breathing became heavy, as he gained immense satisfaction from delving into the secrets between the gods and also became greedy for the contents of Emperor Roselle's diary.

However, the Hanged Man quickly put aside his blasphemous thoughts, faced reality without making a sound, and did not look at his lover again. Instead, he began to observe the ancient and intricate patterns on the bronze table to calm his emotions.

Klein had his own reasons for saying that. Part of it was to show off, and another part was that he had become increasingly worried after learning about his lover's identity that day. Finally, he made up his mind based on Audrey's unusual behavior today.

He needed to defuse this time bomb and probe Kurt's thoughts. If Kurt refused to admit it, or if Klein misjudged the situation, he would simply kick him out of the party. If Kurt was extremely nervous, or directly revealed his true thoughts and threatened the Tarot Club, he would also kick him out to prevent the threat from escalating.

The last one, which is this one, is that Mr. Lover is indeed a chosen one of the gods, and it seems that Mr. Kurt was even sent by the Mother Goddess herself—did the Earth Mother Goddess mistake me for another being? Or is she for some other purpose? But at least it seems that she has good intentions.

Klein knew he was being targeted by the gods, but there was nothing he could do. Now that Kurt had so readily expressed the Mother Goddess's goodwill and even kicked him out of the gathering, the next gathering might not be able to take place at all.

Klein suddenly realized that his specialness had even attracted the help of the gods. He felt a sense of powerlessness, like an ant facing an elephant. Whether it was to return to Earth or to survive, Klein knew that he could only survive and find a way back to Earth by advancing faster.

Slightly calming his unease, Klein looked at his lover with little emotion, nodded calmly, and said, "Very well, you can begin materializing the diary."

Kurt breathed a sigh of relief, and while he began to materialize the diary, he was somewhat puzzled as to how Klein had figured it out.

Last time, I only forgot a ring—and the whole thing happened in a public carriage—that's strange.

After Kurt and Justice finished writing in their diaries, Klein raised his hand and made the parchment appear directly in his palm, and began to read through the diary that Audrey had materialized.

Kurt glanced meaningfully at Miss Audrey, who had just recovered and was preparing to become part of the audience, a subtle smile playing on his lips.
