Lord of Mysteries: Taiyi

Friday, Harvest Church.

After finishing his morning Elvish lesson, Kurt felt as if something had shattered in the darkness, a very strange feeling.

Kurt was no stranger to this feeling; it was the sensation of the potion being completely digested...

"So fast?" Kurt calculated that it had only been 20 days, and his "Teacher" potion had already been digested... Could it be because the Tarot Society imparted knowledge?

Regardless, quick digestion is a good thing. Melanie, who was tidying up the teaching materials, noticed Kurt's unusual expression and asked curiously:

"Kurt, what happened? You suddenly seemed distracted for a moment."

Kurt didn't hide anything and smiled as he spoke:

"Teacher, I have fully digested my Sequence 8 potion."

Melanie didn't know when Kurt became a Sequence Eight, so she wasn't too surprised and simply asked normally:

"Have you finished collecting the ingredients for your Sequence Seven potion?"

Kut nodded and said:

"Otherwise, I wouldn't have only changed one ingredient. Speaking of which, the church didn't have this recipe before, so why would they store these extraordinary materials?"

Melanie finished packing her things, put on the coat that was on the hanger, and replied:

"Those extraordinary materials can be used to create extraordinary items, and they have inherent value... The people from the Holy Church will arrive tomorrow, around 3 PM. If you want to advance tomorrow, we can postpone your studies, would you like that? Or we can give you extra lessons..."

Kurt easily picked up on Melanie's reluctance in the second half of her sentence, so he simply smiled and said:

"I will be here at one o'clock sharp, teacher. I would prefer to drink the potion under the supervision of three powerful individuals."

Based on the experience in the original work, even if a potion is fully digested starting from Sequence Seven, there is still a possibility of "losing control." Therefore, it is best to drink potions with Melanie and the Bishop present...

After agreeing on a time, Kurt said goodbye and left.

Back home, Kurt intended to "rub the watch" for Viscount Grelint, but upon arriving home, he found the house "overcrowded."

As soon as Kurt entered the store, he saw Bill chatting with Kuhn—he still had his signature slicked-back hair—and Leah sitting obediently on the sofa next to him, holding a cup of expensive black tea with a somewhat awkward expression.

Opposite Leah were Fors and Hugh, along with Janelle, the maid who was pouring them tea.

Finks, meanwhile, sat quietly behind the cashier with a newspaper in hand...

Anyone unaware of the situation would think that Bard Watch Shop was booming... Kurt paused at the door, rubbing his temples as he took off his hat.

Seeing that everyone's eyes were on him and that the conversation had stopped, but no one spoke for a moment, Kurt gave a gentle smile and said:

"The manager of Bard Watches has officially returned to his shop. Who wants to go first?"

Bill ended his conversation with Kuhn, glanced at the three women beside him, and then, as if responding to Kurt's teasing, formally said:

"I'll go first. It's just a small matter, I'll be leaving soon."

After greeting everyone with his eyes, Kurt walked up to the second floor, saying:

"Let's talk upstairs, Bill. The rest of you, please wait downstairs."

The others naturally had no objections, since they all had different reasons for coming here. So they all nodded in understanding.

As for hospitality, with Jenny there, he doesn't need to worry about it.

Upon arriving at the living room on the second floor, Kurt introduced Bill to a seat on the sofa and asked with a smile:

"Mr. Bill, what brings you here?"

Bill got straight to the point:

"I came to see you first. I'll be leaving Backlund for two days this Sunday for work. Also, Lori asked me to tell you she'll be back in Backlund in early September."

Kurt felt a headache coming on. His sister was coming back soon, and things were going to get complicated… Kurt responded without showing any sign of distress.

"Okay, I understand. I'll be there to greet you then."

Bill nodded, glancing at Kurt who seemed hesitant to speak.

Kurt, noticing Bill's strange behavior, asked:

"What's wrong, Bill? Is there anything else?"

Bill shook his head and said vaguely:

"It's a good thing to move on from emotional trauma, but it needs to be done in moderation."

"Ahem, and you should have discussed setting up the foundation with Lori first..."

When Kurt saw Bill immediately change the subject, his words of explanation stuck in his throat. He suddenly realized that he hadn't actually discussed this with Lori...

Then, Kurt took out paper and pen and drafted a letter, mainly explaining the purpose and nature of the fund and some routine greetings. After finishing, Kurt smiled and said:

"As you know, almost all of our family's money and assets are under Lori's management, and I pay for everything myself... I'll explain the specifics to Lori when she gets back."

Bill took the letter, glanced at it, and nodded.

"I'll donate some cash. Okay, I'm going now. I need to prepare for the schedule the day after tomorrow."

Kurt got up and walked him a short distance away, then asked him to call Kuhn up.

He planned to resolve the issues related to the fund first, and then deal with the remaining three ladies.

Kuhn looked somewhat haggard, clearly someone who works every day, but his mustache remained clean and he looked energetic.

He sat down on the sofa, took out the ledger, handed it to Kurt, and said:

"Mr. Kurt, these are the recent expenses; the funds are almost gone."

He didn't say anything more, waiting for Kurt's reaction.

After glancing at the ledger briefly, Kurt said:

"Very good, you don't need to worry about the funds. Please stay at home for the next two days. A viscount will send someone to deliver a donation of about 5000 pounds."

At this point, Kuhn visibly paused, instinctively asking, "5000 pounds?"

Kut nodded, adding with certainty:

"That's right, it's £5000 after tax. They will bring a professional team to negotiate with you, but ultimately the £5000 will be given to the foundation as a one-time donation, and then a fixed monthly grant of £200 will continue to be deposited into your account."

He paused, then continued:

"I'm not familiar with the specific details of the cooperation, so I'll leave everything to you. You'll be the first person in charge of this fund, and you can proceed with the operations according to the requirements we initially agreed upon. They will also send someone to supervise and assist you."

Seeing Kurt's questioning gaze, Kuhn nodded somewhat blankly and said:

"I know what to do."

Kurt nodded in satisfaction, pleased that he was indeed a graduate of the Economics Department of the University of Tingen. Then Kurt added:

"Your salary will definitely increase afterward. Come see me again once everything is finalized. Oh, and remember to appropriately promote that I am the initiator of this fund and to state my identity as the Church of Mother Earth."

Kuhn nodded without much surprise, not thinking there was anything wrong with it, and left somewhat unrealistically, after being told the task of bringing Lia up.
