Lord of Mysteries: Taiyi
Chapter 41 Curiosity
"A fool who does not belong to this era... You are the mysterious ruler above the gray fog... You are the king of yellow and black who holds good fortune..." "Justice" Audrey murmured these three descriptions, her heart suddenly churning with turbulent waves, and she could no longer maintain the state of "audience".
Before entering the gray fog, she was an enthusiast of the occult. She had tried many rituals, all of which failed, but this gave her a basic understanding of incantations, and she also knew what these three-part names represented:
That represents, that points to, seven gods who look down upon the entire world!
It is almost equivalent to "Crimson King, Secret Mother, Queen of Calamity and Fear"!
Was Mr. Fool the unknown, mysterious, and powerful being that Grynt and the others had mentioned? Was he a source of danger that had to be carefully avoided in the ritual? Audrey was speechless for a moment.
Alger, who knew more and understood more than him, trembled with genuine fear:
"If this ritual can truly direct the Fool to receive our request, then we must address Him with the utmost respect..."
"How lucky I am! How wise I am! I've been very cooperative throughout, haven't done anything foolish, and even when I tested them, it was within the bounds of propriety..."
"He might be some ancient, secretive, terrifying being..."
Kurt feigned shock, while inwardly thinking: "Finally, I can call the Fool. Maybe I can incorporate the knowledge of sacrifice into Emperor Roselle's diary beforehand..."
The Fool Klein pretended not to notice their change and continued speaking to himself:
"I beg for your help."
"I pray for your favor."
"I pray that you will grant me a sweet dream."
"Deep Sleep Flower, herb of the Red Moon, please transfer your power to my incantation."
"Golden Hand Orange, herb of the sun, please transfer your power to my incantation."
……
He finished describing the incantation, which belonged to a different format, and laughed:
"The three of you, have you remembered?"
"Ah..." Audrey was startled and quickly covered her mouth, then began to think seriously.
Finally, after confirming that all three had memorized it, the Fool Klein smiled slightly and said:
"If this attempt succeeds, then next time we can slightly modify the incantation to achieve our desired result."
"No later than Wednesday, I hope you can find some free time to complete this ceremony."
He plans to come up again on Thursday night.
"We will follow your will," the three members of the Tarot Club replied respectfully, composed themselves.
"Following Mr. Hanged Man's suggestion last time, the next part is your chat. Who wants to start?" Klein gestured for him to begin.
Audrey then mentioned that the proposal for a civil service exam had been agreed upon by most members of parliament, who said it was likely to happen in six months at the earliest.
"I hope so," Alger replied sarcastically.
He paused for a few seconds. He glanced at the head of the long bronze table, carefully choosing his words:
"In recent decades, the activities of various clandestine organizations have been increasing, and several new, large-scale organizations have even emerged."
Upon hearing this, Kurt added:
"Recently, an organization called the 'Cult of Nothingness' has appeared in Backlund. They believe in a being called 'Taiyin' and their method of control is called 'Storyteller'..."
Alger frowned slightly; he had never heard of this extraordinary organization.
"It is a remarkable new organization, founded more than 100 years ago. Previously, it operated very cautiously, only within Fenneport, and has only become more active in the last two months."
He shared the information from the previous documents and promised:
"I need information about it, and I will pay accordingly."
Because this concerns his essence, Kurt is very concerned. He is afraid that there is a similar being to "Amon" in this Void Cult, which would be a big problem. The safest way is to find clues through the secret Tarot Society.
Because it concerned Backlund, Miss Justice nodded and said:
"I'll keep an eye on this."
Alger expressed the same thought, and then he looked at the Fool at the head of the table.
This is an inquiry to me for confirmation. But I don't know either... Klein silently memorized the information about the "Cult of Nothingness," and when faced with the Hanged Man's question, he gave an ambiguous answer:
"Some ancient forces are awakening."
"Is that so..." Alger muttered to himself, as if he had thought of something.
Klein glanced at the silent Tarot Club members and said with a smile:
"If there's nothing else to share, then let's call it a day."
"As you wish." Kurt and the other two stood up at the same time.
Klein slid his finger, severing the connection with the crimson star.
Klein stood up and looked behind him, discovering that the pattern behind him was a combination of an eyeless eye and twisted lines, and he had no idea what it represented.
Then he remembered the three-part honorific title that the Great Emperor had mentioned in his diary...
I felt that I still possessed a considerable amount of spirituality, and I recalled how I used divination sticks to find the kidnapped child...
Why not try divination above the gray fog... Klein couldn't suppress the thought.
Will we fail to gain insights, or will this increase our chances of success?
Without hesitation, Klein conjured a string of citrine pendants in the gray mist. He first suspended the pendants over the parchment, silently reciting:
"These diaries are real..."
After seven attempts, the citrine pendant remained unresponsive. It seems the conditions weren't met, given it had likely changed hands countless times. It's also possible that divination is impossible above the gray fog…
After a moment's thought, Klein continued in a low voice:
"I'm reciting the incantation from my diary in real life... It's dangerous."
After seven attempts, the citrine pendant started spinning counter-clockwise, indicating there was no danger...
"The being that the incantation points to in my divination is in danger."
The citrine pendant spun very sharply clockwise...
Klein was startled, as this meant that his divination of the source of that revered name in reality would be greatly damaged.
"I am divining here that the name of that person will be in danger."
After seven repetitions, the citrine pendant began to rotate clockwise with a very small amplitude.
There is a very slight risk, which is perfectly acceptable...
Klein looked at the ancient gray mist around him and struggled for a moment.
Since I'm already here, I might as well give it a try... those talismans might help me get home.
At this moment, Klein resembled a curious cat.
Klein wrote the incantation in Hermes on a piece of parchment.
Then, leaning back in his seat, he silently recited "the source of the incantation."
He tried dream divination.
The light and shadow before his eyes shattered, and Klein found himself in a dream. He immediately felt a tremendous suction force pulling at his consciousness.
He barely opened his eyes and saw a huge black and white vortex slowly rotating. An "S" in the middle divided the vortex into light and dark parts, filled with various bizarre yet beautiful symbols that constantly "evaporated" from it. The dark part was somewhat illusory, as if it lacked some substance.
When Klein finally saw clearly, he suddenly realized that he was slowly falling, spinning, and disintegrating.
At this moment, images of him with Melissa, Dunn, and others appeared beside him.
He discovered that many images of himself in different scenes were appearing around him, spreading and radiating outwards like a net...
He also saw some strange and horrifying scenes, such as Dunn Smith cutting out his own heart, or Old Neil going out of control and turning into a monster, which made him very sad. Of course, there were also heartwarming scenes, such as attending Dunn and Daly's wedding.
These scenes filled the surroundings haphazardly, seemingly growing and multiplying. If this continued, Klein felt that the sheer volume of information would overwhelm him.
What's terrifying is that Klein isn't in pain right now; he's watching in horror as his body slowly "evaporates," turning into simple symbols like triangles and circles...
Feeling the powerful suction, Klein also felt some knowledge drifting into his mind.
As his thoughts began to evaporate, his emotions rapidly turned cold and rational, and he became indifferent to everything, a gray fog enveloped his eyes. The last thing he saw was all his "possibilities" gradually converging towards a single line at the end...
Where Klein hadn't discovered it, the vortex swallowed a small portion of the gray mist...
Klein, sitting on the bronze throne, suddenly came to his senses. He watched as the symbols around him were slowly gathered and solidified by the gray mist. His thoughts began to return, and his emotions changed from cold indifference to lingering fear and relief.
I almost became part of that vortex, and I was uncontrollably becoming indifferent! Watching the gray mist slowly repair his body, Klein understood what it meant that the danger was minimal.
This gray fog will protect me; in the real world, I would have become a cold symbol by now.
However, the rewards of such reckless behavior are also quite good...
His mind was filled with a wealth of knowledge.
"Taiyi."
"God so loved the world."
"Sequence Nine: Storyteller; Sequence Eight: Mental Patient; Sequence Seven: Fate Weaver; Sequence Six: Delusional Maniac; Sequence Four: Immortal in a Painting."
"Sequence Nine: Clockmaker; Sequence Eight: Teacher; Sequence Seven: Painter; Sequence Five: Scientist. And their ancient names and formulas."
"There are also some advanced methods for making talismans."
What is the One? Is it the name of that being? And what is God's love for the world? Is it His teachings?
"Fairy in the Painting"—what a unique name! This must be the first potion name of a demigod I know.
He also discovered that the materials his "lover" had requested were the main ingredients for the "Teacher's" potion!
The "storyteller" is connected to the nihilistic cult he mentions. The "lovers" should pay attention to their messages... Are these two paths somehow related?
Russell was active more than two hundred years ago... Did the Nihilistic Cult actually exist back then, or was it founded later?
Using mahjong tiles as a code name, could the "Nihilistic Cult" be related to Emperor Roselle?
