Lord of Mysteries: Taiyi

Chapter 3.1 Is everything as usual?

"Okay, then we're considered founding members of the Tarot Club!" Audrey was initially delighted, but then looked timidly at Mr. Fool, who was shrouded in gray mist. "Is that alright, Mr. Fool?"

The fool shook his head with amusement: "You can decide this yourself."

"Thank you!" Audrey was visibly excited. She took a deep breath and turned to Kurt. "Mr. Lover, could you please tell me the recipe?"

She glanced at Alger again, thought for a moment, and then looked at Mr. Fool questioningly, "Mr. Fool, may I speak with my lover alone?"

Klein paused for a moment, then imagined the scene in his mind.

The next second, Alger felt his senses being completely blocked. He then gained a deeper understanding of Mr. Fool's abilities, but also breathed a sigh of relief—at least the other party should not be able to detect the fact that he possessed the "Audience" potion formula, or perhaps he simply couldn't be bothered to mention it.

The Fool nodded slightly, indicating that the block was in place.

Lover Kut nodded, without further ado: "The main ingredients for Sequence Nine, 'The Audience,' are the eyes of a pair of adult Manhar fish and 35 ml of horned cuttlefish blood; the auxiliary ingredients are 80 ml of pure water, 5 drops of colchicine essence, 13 grams of ox-tooth peony powder, and 7-petaled fairy flower. The main ingredients cannot be added in excess, and the auxiliary ingredients must be added in order, with the main ingredients added last. The quantities must be small, not large, otherwise it's easy to lose control. Got it?"

"I understand perfectly!" Audrey nodded quickly, her tone confident. "I have a tutor who has taught me about this."

As he spoke, he counted on his fingers: "80 ml of pure water, 5 drops of colchicine extract, 13 grams..."

Kurt promptly reminded him: "Ox-tooth peony powder."

"Thank you," Audrey smiled sweetly.

Although Mr. Fool did not take any action, his ears were perked up, and he memorized the recipe.

After Audrey finished repeating the recipe, Kurt pondered for a moment: "Miss Justice, would you like to hear the 'Pharmacist's' recipe?" Audrey thought for a moment—a Sequence Nine recipe wasn't expensive, why not hear another one? She should be able to remember both… She nodded and said, "I can find two sets of materials for you at once."

Kurt nodded first, then turned to the now-unshielded "Hanged Man" Alger: "The formula for Sequence Nine 'Pharmacist' is as follows: the main ingredients are the horn of an adult Pegasus and 3 grams of venom crystals from a crown jellyfish; the auxiliary ingredients are 100 milliliters of blood from an adult Pegasus, 7 tentacles from a crown jellyfish, 10 grams of arsenic powder, and 10 grams of rhizome from a black hyacinth."

After seeing the Hanged Man and Audrey take notes, Kurt gave some instructions regarding meditation to prevent Audrey from losing control.

Kurt finally spoke slowly, "I need to get those two materials as soon as possible. How long do you expect it to take?"

Alger looked at Audrey, who was clearly a noblewoman, and after a moment of silence, replied, "At least three weeks."

Audrey's heart tightened—what if these materials couldn't be found in the family treasury?

Although the chances were slim, what if she really betrayed her "lover's" trust... He was even more naive than she was... Thinking of this, she pursed her lips, stood up, and apologetically lifted her skirt to curtsy: "I'm sorry, lover, I was just too excited. If I can find the materials before next week's gathering, I will deliver them to the place you specify; if I can't find them, I can pay in pounds as compensation..."

"I can get double compensation then. My 'lover' trusts me a lot, this is compensation..." Audrey added in her mind.

She had intended to say that it could be delivered the next day, but fearing that it would reveal that she was still not far from him in Backlund, she changed her mind.

"Lover" Kurt nodded with amusement: "Okay, a Sequence Nine recipe is about 200 pounds... How about this, Mr. Hanged Man can keep an eye on the whereabouts of the materials this week, but there's no need to rush to get them. We'll see if Miss Justice has made any progress at the next gathering."

"The Hanged Man" Alger thought for a moment, then nodded and said, "That makes sense. If Miss Justice finds the materials, I will offer other rewards as a token of my gratitude. As for Miss Justice, if you find the Ghost Shark's blood, please send it to the 'Warrior and the Sea' bar on Tigo Street in the Rose District of Prids Harbor, and tell the owner, Williams, that this is what the captain wants. What kind of reward do you want?"

"Justice," Audrey thought for a moment, then happily said, "I'll let you know at the next gathering; I probably need some knowledge. And thank you for your trust, Mr. 'Lover'."

Kurt then gave Mr. Fool a slight bow and offered a simple greeting to the head of the bronze table: "You should thank Mr. Fool the most."

Audrey hurriedly bowed to the Fool: "Thank you, Mr. Fool, for your witness." Klein felt a splitting headache, and his connection with the gray mist began to waver.

He immediately nodded and said in a deep voice, "Alright, let's call it a day."

"As you wish." The Hanged Man bowed his head in greeting.

"As you wish." Kurt knew that the Fool was about to give up—logically speaking, given Klein's current condition, he could only support two members at most, and it was already a miracle that he had lasted this long.

"As you wish." Audrey followed their example and bowed, but her mind was still full of questions and thoughts, and she was really reluctant to end the conversation.

Klein smiled as he cut off contact: "Looking forward to the next gathering."

……

On the howling sea, Alger seized the ghost ship, just like in the original story.

……

Backlund, the capital of the Kingdom of Rune, Queen District.

Audrey Hall pinched her cheek, still unable to believe what she had just experienced.

On the dressing table in front of her, the ancient bronze mirror was shattered into pieces; looking down at her hands, the remaining crimson on her palms was slowly fading.

Thinking of the formula she had just memorized, she immediately took out her chemistry notebook and wrote down the formulas for "audience" and "pharmacist" in neat handwriting. She then filled the surrounding area with irrelevant content such as chemical formulas, perfectly hiding the "formula" within it.

After doing all this, she stood up with a sense of relief, her eyes shining and the corners of her mouth slightly upturned.

She gave a light bow to the air, then turned and leaped high into the air to perform the "Ancient Elf Dance," the most popular dance among the nobility at the time.

The sound of footsteps continued until a knock came at the door.

"Who?" Audrey stopped dancing and adopted a graceful posture.

"Miss, it's time to get ready." It was the personal maid's voice.

……

Not far from the Earl of Hall's mansion, at 36 "Evalland Street", a three-story detached house, in the bedroom on the third floor.

Kurt stared at the broken ceremonial dagger in deep thought, then sighed, "Plans can't keep up with changes..."

He then took out a stack of calculation papers from the drawer of his solid wood desk, which were covered with intricate clock design drawings.

He pulled out a blank sheet of paper and began to write in Chinese—he needed to sort out the current situation and plan for the future, and writing could help him organize his thoughts more smoothly.
