Crossover Anime: How a Shameless Person Lives

Chapter 87 Mercury: Do I look like a scumbag?

CCG Tokyo Headquarters

After confronting Arima Kishou, Marude Saiki finally gained a complete understanding of the Washuu family.

The White Day Garden, half-humans, ghouls, and the V organization.

Their influence was greater and more deeply ingrained than he had imagined!

However, this also taught him who his friends and enemies were in the CCG.

"What kind of mess is this?"

Sitting in his office, Marude rubbed his temples.

To his relief, none of the CCG's Special Class members were ghouls, nor were they members of the Washuu family.

This is good news.

"Report!"

Just as he was thinking about how to remove the Washuu family from the CCG, there was a sudden knock on the office door.

Marutei instantly snapped out of his thoughts.

"Enter."

The door opened, and a boy with white hair walked in.

"Reporting to Special Commissioner Marute, Kasugano Haruka is here to report!"

Kasugano Yuu walked in and saluted respectfully, his eyes curiously scrutinizing the special class.

Looking at the white-haired boy, Marude Sai jokingly said, "Hey kid following behind Arima Kishou, are you really not his illegitimate son?"

It's no wonder he said that.

The two really look so alike.

Both their face shape and expressions are very similar.

They even all had the same head of white hair.

"Marude Special Class, please stop teasing me. How could I possibly be the son of Arima Special Class?" Kasugano Yu scratched his head sheepishly.

Seeing the boy's slightly embarrassed expression, Marude chuckled. "Alright, Arima sent you here, not just to listen to my jokes. So, what's up?"

Kasugano Yuu's awkwardness vanished, his expression instantly turning serious. He took out two encrypted documents from his briefcase and handed them to Marude Sai with both hands: "These are from Arima and the others, and they asked me to pass them on."

Marutei took the document, his eyes scanning its contents, his pupils suddenly contracting.

These shocking experimental data, along with the monsters that violate the ecological structure, are truly alarming.

Each one sent a shiver down his spine.

He also recognized the last monster that looked like a centipede; it was the final video sent to him by the Mado couple who had died in battle.

He calmly put down the file and started looking at another one.

This was clearly a document containing intelligence about the recent personnel changes of the Washuu family, as well as detailed information about the Washuu family's experiments at the Kyoto Cuquiria branch.

"What did Arima say when he asked you to deliver the documents?" Marude asked, taking a deep breath.

How can you give something like this to a child?

This is utter nonsense!

"Arima and the others said that I should follow your orders in everything," Kasugano Yu said.

He didn't look at the document because Matt and others wouldn't allow it.

"Is that so?" Marude nodded.

He probably knew what Arima was planning.

Arima entrusted this child to him as a "backup plan" and also as a testament to his trust.

The waters of the White Day Garden are too deep; the fate of half-humans is never in their own hands. Arima is trying to find a way out for this boy that he can make his own decisions.

"Do you know about the Washuu family?" Marude suddenly asked, his tone no longer casual, but rather scrutinizing.

Kasugano Yu paused for a moment, nodded, and then added, "Arima and the others only told me to trust you."

Marude chuckled softly and placed the document inside his clothes.

He stood up, walked to the window, and looked down at the investigators coming and going from the CCG headquarters. His voice was extremely low. "Now that you're here, stay by my side. Tell everyone you're my temporary assistant, understand?"

"Understood!" Kasugano Yuu immediately straightened his back and answered loudly.

"By the way, I heard you used to live in an orphanage." After a while, Marude asked again.

"Yes, top class." Kasugano Yu nodded, unconsciously clenching her fist. "It's at the Red Moon Orphanage in Chiba City."

"That's perfect, I have a task for you."

"Please give instructions!"

……

"Goodbye, old dean! ♬♬~"

"Goodbye, old man, don't bother us unless it's important."

Ye Ye Mu Apartment, downstairs.

Mercury and Tomie saw off the old dean.

"I haven't left yet."

The old dean glared at the two of them, then said to Hiratsuka Shizuka, "Hiratsuka-sensei, I'm counting on you."

"No problem, leave it to me with confidence," Hiratsuka Shizuka assured him, patting her chest.

"Alright, and you two too." The old director patted the two men on the shoulder, gave them a look, and then picked up the box and left.

Both men breathed a sigh of relief as they watched the old man take the stolen money away.

If the sports car they bought hadn't been totaled, it would have been better to let the old dean drive it back.

Mercury glanced at the dented and wrecked sports car next to him, and his eye twitched.

Now we don't need to get it fixed.

What a joy.

Tomie looked at the wrecked sports car with disdain and said, "Buy another one. I don't want to walk to school every day."

"Buy another one?" Mercury glanced at Tomie. "This is all money I've worked so hard to save."

"You can fool yourself, but don't fool me." Tomie put her hands on her hips and glared at him defiantly. "This time, I want a red sports car."

"I'm not going." Mercury turned and left.

"Hurry up and go." Tomie grabbed his wrist.

"Hey, don't pull me."

"We can't waste any more time." She added casually as she pulled Mercury forward, "Oh, right, we also need to buy a few designer bags, get some new season dresses, and I want to eat top-quality caviar with champagne."

"Hey, hey, hey, don't go too far," Mercury said in a strange tone. "At least... bring Deep Winter along too."

"You're still so kind?" Tomie raised an eyebrow, her tone slightly mocking.

"Do I look like a scumbag?" Mercury said speechlessly.

He considers himself a law-abiding and good man when it comes to relationships.

Last time when we had that blunder with Tomie, we both felt a surge of responsibility.

Not to mention that this time they actually ate the Snow Woman.

"Hmph, you're a piece of scum."

"Ha, you're not a good person either."

Then, after only a couple of sentences, the two started bickering again, seemingly enjoying themselves.

Shizuka Hiratsuka: "..."

Seeing that the two completely ignored him, Hiratsuka Shizuka suppressed her clenched fists, and the veins on her forehead throbbed.

He took two steps forward and gave each of them a sharp rap on the back of the head.

"Thump! Thump!"

After two muffled thuds, Hiratsuka Shizuka stared in astonishment at Mercury, who had suddenly hidden behind Tomie.

Tomie: 「(╬•̀Van•́)」

"Defense descends." Mercury waved his hand from behind Tomie, his tone laced with schadenfreude.

Having been slapped twice, Tomie rubbed the back of her head and roared angrily, "Auntie, do you want to die? Do you believe I can turn the whole grade into chaos with just one word!"

"Do you believe I can call the old director with just one sentence?" Hiratsuka Shizuka waved her phone.

Tomie: "..."
