Crossover Anime: How a Shameless Person Lives
Chapter 14: The 3 Great Gourmet Anime Gathered
No one knows exactly when the parasites appeared.
But one day, an unknown spore appeared on Earth.
It could be aliens, or it could be punishment from the consciousness of Earth for humanity.
In short, those things just appeared out of nowhere.
After these spores split open, they become tiny parasitic organisms.
They seek out and parasitize the brains of humans or other organisms. Once successful, the human's consciousness is erased and their body is taken over. The one who is controlled is called a parasite.
Whether it's fate or some other twist of destiny, humans are undoubtedly the parasites' first choice for host.
It's worth mentioning that once a creature is parasitized, whether it's a human, a dog, or a large wild animal, it can only eat the flesh and blood of its own kind.
However, later designs allowed people to obtain the nutrients their bodies needed through other vegetables and meats.
Generally speaking, parasites are man-eating monsters.
After they parasitized human brains, they also received orders to kill the human race.
It could also be described as Earth's defense mechanism, used to eliminate humanity.
But there are exceptions.
……
"What is this thing?"
A large building in Chiba City is also the stronghold of the ghoul organization Aogiri Tree.
Yoshimura Aite was holding something that looked like a small insect between her fingers.
It's all green, with lots of tiny tentacles in front, and that drill-like thing is... a mouth?
"It's best not to touch its head," Tatara's voice came from behind.
He was wearing a white trench coat and had short white hair. He didn't look like the second-in-command of the Bronze Tree, but rather like a researcher.
He took out a pair of specially made rubber gloves from his pocket, put them on, and carefully took the still slightly wriggling little creature from Aite's hand.
"We call this a 'spore larva,' or more accurately, an early stage in which the parasitic process has not yet been completed."
Tatara placed the object in a bottle on the table.
"These tentacles you see are used to sense human brainwave frequencies, and that drill-like mouthpart, according to experiments, can even penetrate our ghoul skin and reach our brain."
Aite frowned: "What's it for?"
Please watch the video.
He opened his tablet and pulled up a surveillance video.
In the video, a similar green larva crawls into the ear of a homeless man, and a moment later, the homeless man stands up.
In the next scene, the homeless man's head was split in two, forming something like a sickle or whip.
With two swift movements, he sliced the people around him into pieces and then began to wolf them down.
Besides these, there are many other such scenes.
Office workers, housewives, or police officers.
"When the murders first happened, we thought a ghoul had come to Chiba City, but after investigating, we discovered these things."
The light and shadow of the tablet screen reflected in Aite's eyes. Her fingertips unconsciously rubbed the edge of the table, and a cold glint flashed in her eyes in the dim room.
"Its eating method is completely different from ours, and its attack speed is much faster than that of a regular B-rank ghoul."
Tatara bent down and gently touched the spore larva on the table with tweezers. The thing immediately retracted its tentacles.
"That's not all."
Slide the tablet to bring up another data record.
"We have tracked three individuals that have completed parasitism. During the day, they mimic human speech and behavior and can even remember the host's original interpersonal relationships. They only reveal their true nature when they need to eat."
"Imitation?" Aite raised an eyebrow.
That's interesting.
It looks a lot like a movie she'd seen called Alien.
The monsters there can also mimic humans.
"Will it attack us?"
"According to the surveillance footage, two of our members were attacked by these 'parasites' in an alley in the 23rd ward yesterday." Tatara's voice turned somber as he pointed to the video footage.
The ghoul's kagune was forcibly torn open, and there were still traces of gnawing around the edges of the wound.
Although they were only two D-class ghouls, it was enough to prove that these monsters were truly not picky eaters.
"They are also interested in the flesh and blood of ghouls, and I suspect it is a biological weapon being researched by other major powers."
Hearing this, Aite looked at the juveniles bumping around in the glass enclosure and a complex smile appeared on his lips.
"Interesting. I thought the CCG was troublesome enough, but now this group of 'uninvited guests' has arrived. What do you think would happen if these parasites clashed with the CCG?"
Tatara looked up at her and said, "Lord Eto wants to use them? Perhaps, but the risk is great. We don't know the origin of these things, nor do we know if there are any more powerful individuals among them."
"Risk is what makes things interesting." Aite reached out and tapped on the glass dome, watching the larvae inside gradually quiet down.
"Lock it up first, find more samples for research, and also find some hostile ghouls to experiment on to see if it will produce some interesting changes when it parasitizes ghouls."
Upon hearing this, Tatara was taken aback.
A combination of monsters and ghouls?
This is truly an idea I never thought of.
"Oh, right."
Suddenly, Yoshimura Eto thought of something and turned to say, "Since this thing parasitizes other creatures like an insect, let's call it..."
……
"Parasyte," Mercury said.
"What parasite?"
Tomie, who was sitting in front of him, turned around and asked.
Her long hair slid down her shoulders, she tilted her head slightly, and her eyes held a hint of curiosity.
To be honest, she's almost unfairly beautiful.
Mercury coughed and pointed to Hachiman Hikigaya, who was sitting against the wall.
The way the two of them sat was also quite interesting.
Class 1-E, window seat.
After a series of speeches following enrollment, the class assignments were completed.
Mercury simply chose the king's hometown.
Coincidentally, he and Tomie were in the same class.
Naturally, the two of them sat down at the tables in front of and behind each other.
"He looks like an ordinary person, like someone rotting in the mud," Tomie said.
Mercury didn't answer, but just stared at Hachiman Hikigaya's right hand.
"Little Right?"
"Is this stealing the job of the protagonist from Parasyte?"
"This is getting more and more interesting," Mercury thought.
The dramatic plot twists even made him find it interesting.
They even felt a desire to participate.
As for whether there is any danger?
I avoid the vortex's sharp edge, but what about that mere parasite? Isn't it just a roadside creature that you can kick to death at will?
Besides, there's a one-eyed guy in the orphanage. Did he say anything?
