When Xuan Yin was traveling on the North Sea, a yellow fog suddenly appeared on the sea, and all sorts of bizarre and wonderful scenes appeared in the fog.

If that were all, Xuan Yin wouldn't be so shocked. What he found unbelievable was that this yellow mist was located between the illusory and real worlds and was even connected to the river of time.

This yellow mist, covering only tens of thousands of miles, is like an isolated island in the North Sea, but it already possesses some characteristics of a sacred Dao source land, where the past, present, and future converge.

Within the yellow mist, light and shadow flickered, sometimes revealing the stars in the sky, sometimes reflecting the mountains and valleys, and sometimes giving rise to all sorts of strange beings.

At times, a giant Kun emerges from the water and transforms into a Peng bird; at other times, a spirit turtle gazes into the distance; and at still other times, it evolves into a wooden chicken, a mantis, a mole, or a Yuan-chu... Finally, it transforms into countless colorful spirit butterflies, seemingly inviting Xuan Yin to enter the yellow mist.

"This scene seems somewhat familiar?"

Xuan Yin was a little confused, but he still decided to go in and take a look.

With the Xuan Yuan Water Control Flag, a top-grade innate spiritual treasure, protecting him, there are really not many dangers in the Primordial True World that he can be wary of, not to mention that he also has two Great Luo level beings by his side.

However, as soon as he stepped into the area shrouded in yellow mist, the various magnificent scenes within the mist turned into specks of firefly light and dissipated into the void.

Instead, there was a scene that Xuan Yin was extremely familiar with.

Endless stars hang in the sky, the majestic sacred mountain stands proudly amidst the misty clouds, and boundless innate spiritual energy rushes towards you.

At first glance, the sacred mountains before me seemed to stretch endlessly across time and space, each one radiating boundless divine light, with the laws of the void constantly descending, making them appear supremely sacred.

"Kunlun?"

The scene before him was the Eastern Kunlun, the sacred site of the Three Pure Ones. He even saw the Taiqing Hall of his senior uncle there.

Suddenly, a gentle voice slowly emerged from the void: "Senior Brother Xuan Yin, is my supernatural power worthy of your approval?"

"Senior brother?"

Xuan Yin was taken aback upon hearing this. He looked up and saw a middle-aged Taoist priest wearing a Taiqing fish-tail crown and holding a Yin-Yang fan slowly stepping in.

Among the three religions, the Taiqing fish-tail crown and the Yin-Yang fan are standard accessories for disciples of the Human Religion.

But he had never seen the person in front of him before!

Xuan Yin frowned and tentatively asked, "I remember that currently, Grand Master Uncle only has Xuan Du as a disciple! No one would dare impersonate a Sage's disciple, so could you perhaps be... a disciple Grand Master Uncle accepted at some point in the future?"

"That's right!"

The newcomer immediately nodded and said with a smile, "This humble Taoist priest, Nanhua, greets Senior Brother Xuanyin!"

"Nanhua?"

A look of astonishment flashed across Xuan Yin's face: "Master Nanhua? You are Zhuang Zhou? Could that just now be the Five Dreams and Seven Hearts Form?"

These are characters from after the Great Calamity of the Investiture of the Gods.

The four great Taoist masters—Nanhua Zhenren, Tongxuan Zhenren, Chongxu Zhenren, and Dongling Zhenren—are considered extremely famous in later generations.

He was also a disciple of Laozi!

Of course, the Taoist name Nanhua may not be familiar to most people, but the legend of Zhuangzi's dream of a butterfly is imprinted in countless times.

However, Xuan Yin was knowledgeable about later generations and knew the significance of this name.

"As expected of Senior Brother Xuan Yin!"

Master Nan Hua slowly spoke, "We have never met before, yet you saw through my origins and my Five Dreams and Seven Hearts at a glance!"

"Speaking of which, my future self also embarked on the path of emptiness and enlightenment under the guidance of my senior brother, but I never expected to meet him in this time and space!"

His gaze slowly swept over Xuan Yin: "Senior Brother is indeed a genius; he has comprehended the true meaning of the Law Dao at the Xuan Immortal realm!"

Xuan Yin also looked at Nan Hua Zhenren with curiosity. He was very curious as to why a person from the future would suddenly appear in front of him.

"The Way of Dreams!"

With his profound immortal cultivation and the ability to see through illusions, he was still unable to see through the surrounding illusions, which shows that Nan Hua was already able to turn dreams into reality!

It wasn't until he used the Taiyi Dao Fruit to empower himself that he found something discordant and unreal in his surroundings.

In the primordial world, there are not many beings who cultivate the Dream Path. The True Man of Nanhua before us is one, and the other is the Sage of Reception in the West.

Attaining enlightenment in a dream is a top-tier supernatural power that rivals even the Supreme Saint's ability to transform into the Three Pure Ones with a single breath.

Xuan Yin cut to the chase, saying, "Fellow Daoist's dream path has truly broadened my horizons, actually managing to bring your consciousness back through time and space?"

"I wonder, fellow Daoist, what brings you to this time and space?"

Master Nan Hua shook his head: "I wouldn't call it guidance. I just want to see how Senior Brother Xuan Yin, who also possesses a seven-aperture exquisite heart, stirs up the tide and becomes someone hated by gods and ghosts!"

"When the Investiture of the Gods began, my senior brother, wielding the Six Soul Banner, single-handedly reduced the Twelve Golden Immortals of the Chan Sect to only half. This enraged my second senior uncle, who directly recreated the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind... leading to an unprecedented war between the Chan and Jie sects!"

"Both religions suffered heavy losses, and when the West flourished, my teacher, whom I had no other choice, had to open his temples to the public!"

"And Brother Duobao, after becoming Buddha, showed no regard for the bonds between the three religions. My fellow disciples and I have suffered greatly!"

"As a result, many fellow cultivators who have achieved the Great Luo realm wish to go back in time and completely erase their senior brother, this variable, from the river of time!"

"But unfortunately, my senior brother's life is exceptionally tough. They all returned defeated, and many even suffered severe backlash!"

As he spoke, Nan Hua's gaze toward Xuan Yin suddenly turned resentful, as if Xuan Yin was the cause of their being forced to confront Buddhism.

Xuan Yin was speechless. How can you blame me for your teacher exploiting you? It's just that a few Golden Immortals of the Chan Sect were cursed to death.

He had indeed mentioned this idea to the Tongtian Sect Leader before, and now it seems that his method of flipping the table right from the start was indeed quite good.

At least, the Investiture of the Gods was no longer a case of the Jie Sect taking the blame, but rather a lose-lose situation, with at least half of the Twelve Golden Immortals of the Chan Sect making it onto the Investiture of the Gods list.

The Chan and Jie sects suffered heavy losses, so the Taiqing Sage had no choice but to step up and take charge. It was only natural that he would train people like Nanhua.

only……

Why are you trying so hard?

In the Lonely Garden, many of the more than a thousand Buddhist Grandmasters are actually aliases of powerful figures from the Xuanmen sect. Isn't it enough for them to just put on a show during their usual struggles?

Ugh!

Nanhua is still too honest!

In this respect, he should learn more from another disciple of the Human Sect, who is the True Man of Salvation in Taoism, the Venus in Heaven, and also has the alias of the Bodhisattva Lingji in Buddhism!

Xuan Yin inwardly grumbled, but still offered Nan Hua Zhenren a bowl of chicken soup: "Fellow Daoist Nan Hua! When Heaven is about to place a great responsibility on a person, it will first test their will, strain their muscles and bones, starve their body, leave them destitute, and thwart their endeavors, so as to strengthen their resolve, temper their character, and increase their abilities. How do you know that the suffering you endured wasn't a test from the Supreme Saint Taiqing?"

"Fellow Daoist Xuandu, your mind is free of external distractions. Ultimately, it is you who must shoulder the responsibility of upholding the Human Sect's tradition!"

Nan Hua's face immediately darkened: "Senior Brother Xuan Yin, even if you're trying to fool me, don't try to fob me off with Meng Ke's words!"

Upon hearing this, Xuan Yin smiled sheepishly: "I almost forgot, you're from the same era, but what I'm trying to say is pretty much the same! Xuan Du, you should strive harder! The future of the Human Sect, and the hopes of many fellow disciples, all rest on your shoulders!"

Then, he suddenly changed the subject: "By the way, didn't you say that in the future, you embarked on the path of emptiness enlightenment because of my guidance? Doesn't that mean you owe me a karmic debt?"

"Now that you've come all this way, fellow Daoist, why not repay this karmic debt?"

"I'm also quite interested in the idea of attaining enlightenment in dreams!"

Upon hearing this, Nan Hua's eyes widened, and he said helplessly, "Even if there is a karmic debt, it is owed to you in the future. The karmic debt has not yet been incurred, so what does it have to do with you now?"

"Hey!"

Xuan Yin shook his head: "That's not right! The me of today and the me of the future, aren't we still the same me? The me of the future will at least be a Great Luo Immortal, while the me of today is just a minor Xuan Immortal! Do you think... it's easier to repay the karma of a Great Luo Immortal, or the karma of a Xuan Immortal?"

"this……"

Nan Hua froze on the spot.

Xuan Yin's words made a lot of sense, but he felt that something was not right.

However, he didn't give a definitive answer. Instead, he frankly said, "Regarding the methods of cultivating the Dream Path, I can pass on a copy of the Five Dreams and Seven Hearts that I have comprehended to my senior brother. But you cannot take away the remains of the mirage dragon in the North Sea. That is my opportunity to attain enlightenment in the future!"

It was because of this mirage dragon's remains that he was able to break through to the Great Luo realm and dream back to ancient times, evolving such a dreamlike secret realm in the North Sea.

"Can!"

Xuan Yin immediately agreed.

He asked Master Nanhua for his experience in cultivating the Way of Dreams, hoping to gain insights from similar practices. He felt that the Way of Dreams resonated with his keen and insightful mind.

Moreover, he remembered that Master Nanhua had said before that he also had a seven-aperture exquisite heart, and that he had the same physique as Xuan Yin and Bigan.

The characteristics of this constitution are intelligence, quick thinking, and the ability to apply knowledge to new situations when encountering problems, but it is also easy for the mind to be disturbed by distracting thoughts.

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but feel a little resentful: "I remember back in the human realm, my senior uncle said I was fickle and was unwilling to take me as a disciple. I had no choice but to go to Kunlun alone to seek a master. But why did he take the initiative to accept someone with a seven-aperture exquisite heart in later generations?"

Little did he know, the Sage Taiqing also had his own difficulties. Xuan Yin often acted unpredictably, causing chaos in the Heavenly Dao. He could only find another person with a seven-aperture exquisite heart to study.

That's how Nan Hua Zhenren came to be!

Nan Hua Zhenren did not disappoint him, successfully breaking through to the Great Luo realm, and created the Five Dreams and Seven Hearts Form based on the characteristics of the Seven Apertures Exquisite Heart!

Soon, countless insights into the Dao of Dreams, as well as a supernatural power called Five Dreams and Seven Hearts, flooded into Xuan Yin's sea of consciousness like a tide.

The same supernatural power can produce different effects when practiced by different people.

These five dreams and seven mental states change according to the practitioner's state of mind; different practitioners will also evolve different dream worlds.

The five dreams of the True Man of Nanhua are a butterfly dream, a skull pillow, an oak tree, a spirit tortoise, and Zheng Huan. The seven mental images he comprehended are a Kunpeng, a tortoise, a mole, a phoenix, a wooden rooster, a mantis, and a butterfly, all of which are people or things he had seen before.

The butterfly in the dream symbolizes the dissolution of the boundary between self and other; the skull represents transcendence of life and death; the oak tree symbolizes the wisdom of survival through the uselessness of use; and the spirit tortoise represents the reverence of the True Man of Nanhua for destiny...

In short, each dream and each mental image symbolizes a certain characteristic, representing the understanding of the Way of Heaven and Earth and the Way of oneself by the True Man of Nanhua.

"See you another day, senior brother!"

After Master Nanhua finished transmitting the Dharma, his figure slowly disappeared into the dream.

Xuan Yin finally saw the remains of the mirage dragon through his Eye of Truth.

He didn't go to get it!

He only glanced at it a couple more times. It was only because the powerful dragon clan transformed into a mirage dragon that this secret realm came into being, allowing True Man Nanhua to dream back to the era of the Lich King.

……

Soon, Xuan Yin left the dream world and the North Sea, heading towards the center of the primordial world, which is the direction of Buzhou Mountain.

But after he left, the figure of Master Nanhua reappeared in the dream, a sly smile suddenly appearing on his face: "Senior Brother Xuanyin, you're right. Repaying the karma of a Xuanxian is indeed much easier than repaying the karma of a Daluo!"

"What's more, the future you're giving those saints a real headache!"

Yes!

Both being intelligent and perceptive, Master Nanhua was no ordinary person; his apparent innocence was merely a facade he deliberately projected to Xuan Yin.

His goal was to wait for Xuan Yin to make the request so that he could repay the karmic debts of the future.

In this world, only those with a discerning mind can see through another discerning mind and subtly lead someone into a trap.
