Chapter 3 The Final Separation

Xinya looked at Gu You, who was meditating, with a monster-like gaze. She then explained the necessity of some basic meditation techniques. "You... you've got it?"

Gu You was in a very comfortable state at this moment. The soul power between heaven and earth surged into his body, constantly nourishing his body. Although the growth was slow, he firmly believed that he would become a Great Soul Master within two years.

He slowly opened his eyes at dawn, and was startled when he checked the time. His stomach rumbled incessantly in protest.

"Hey, wake up." Gu You poked Xin Ya, who was fast asleep on the medical bed.

"Who is it!" Xinya was annoyed at being woken up, but when she saw that it was Gu You, her temper immediately subsided.

"Now we can go back, right? I know you're worried because your injury is healed, but you're still coming with me. We can talk about some martial spirit knowledge on the way. I was so engrossed in cultivation earlier that I almost forgot about it." Gu You pondered. If he went to Shrek Academy, they probably wouldn't teach him these basics at all. Besides, he was also a little curious. You know, the spots for the top academy on the continent are extremely rare and hard to come by. Even councilors would have a hard time getting one, right?

But then Gu You shook his head, thinking that since all the benefits would be his, why think so much?

"Are you really all better?" Xinya looked at him scrutinizingly, and Gu You twisted his body to show that he was perfectly fine.

"Okay." Xinya nodded, then asked the doctor to do another check-up before she felt relieved and took Gu You away.

"As we all know, in our world, martial spirits are divided into many types, the main ones being weapon martial spirits and beast martial spirits, and there are also some mutated martial spirits. Among them, those that manifest as life force are called beast martial spirits, while those that do not manifest as life force are..."

"Stop...stop for a second, I'm dizzy." Gu You rubbed his head a few times, interrupting Xin Ya's passionate speech. He knew all this, but if you were to explain it in detail, there was indeed a lot to say.

Xinya was a little confused. You clearly told me to speak, so why aren't you letting me speak now?

On the roadside, Gu You was eating skewers, while Xin Ya's face was full of helplessness. Just from eating and stopping along the way, he would have spent a month's worth of food money. But when he thought of the important person behind Gu You, he suddenly felt that it was all worth it.

"You said I have innate full soul power, so I should be able to absorb the first soul ring, right?" Gu You asked after finishing a skewer of grilled meat.

"Of course, it can be absorbed, but the types of spirits in the Heavenly Sea Spirit Pagoda are rare, let alone those suitable for your dragon attribute. I suggest you go to Shrek City and choose from the Spirit Pagoda headquarters there. You won't have to worry about money then. Geniuses like you are generally given free services, and even if they aren't, the government will cover the cost." Xinya explained, while calling over a spirit-guided car.

Gu You remained silent, which made sense. He then got into the car and drove straight to the Tianhai Orphanage.

"Grandma, don't worry. Gu You just had a small problem with his martial soul awakening. Besides, the Soul Master is still there." Shen Yue gently combed her grandmother's hair. Her grandmother used to be the director of the orphanage, and now that she's old, it's time for her to take over.

came back

Gu You breathed a sigh of relief, but as he thought about how he would soon be leaving to go to the holy land of all soul masters, a strange feeling inevitably arose in his heart.

"What are you thinking about?" Xinya asked, looking at him.

"It's nothing, go in. There are some things I can't say later, I'm counting on you." Gu You gazed intently as he walked in.

Inside the courtyard, the children, upon seeing the familiar figure, lost all interest in playing and instead looked at Gu You with fear.

Gu You wanted to explain, but after thinking about it, he stopped talking. What would a bunch of kids know?

Returning to the home I've lived in for six years, I found it to be quite ordinary, and frankly, the conditions were rather poor. It was a shared dwelling, with many beds but very cramped space.

Gu You lay flat on his bed, a sense of excitement rising within him. To say Gu You lacked ambition would be a mistake; who wouldn't want to reach the pinnacle of the continent? However, the thought of possibly facing Tang Wulin, the protagonist, inevitably brought a pang of melancholy. He should be the same age as Tang Wulin now. A subtle, unsettling premonition.

"What! Innate full soul power, guaranteed admission to Shrek Academy?" Shen Yue was momentarily dizzy. Her small orphanage had produced such a genius.

"Yes," Xinya said in a deep voice, as if she had made up her mind, and then added, "You and him are ultimately not on the same path."

Although Shen Yue's eyes were slightly red, she was mostly happy. "Surely we can see each other one last time?"

Xinya nodded in acknowledgment.

After a silent night, Gu You stretched and yawned. The sun shone brightly outside the window. He hadn't cultivated at all last night; instead, he had slept soundly.

However, he was relieved that the children wouldn't be afraid to enter their "home" where they had lived for six years because they were afraid of him.

Upon exiting the building, Gu You greeted Xin Ya.

"You..." He was about to say something when he stopped, and two familiar figures appeared in his pupils behind him.

"Grandma?" Gu You stood there, stunned.

She squinted slightly as she was pushed in her wheelchair.

"I already know about your situation..." Shen Yue's voice trembled slightly. To say that she had no feelings for someone she had raised for six years would be truly absurd.

Gu You was taken aback, as if some kind of barrier had formed between them.

"I..." He wanted to say something, but he couldn't get the words out.

She remained silent...
