The Silent Witch of Hogwarts
Chapter 535 Sneaky
Chapter 535 Sneaky
Hogwarts was incredibly quiet during the summer vacation. There were no noisy students or professors rushing around. The only things that were there were Filch walking by with his cat and the occasional chirping of cicadas.
However, if you look closely, you should be able to see a petite figure in the corner of the corridor, wearing a hood but still showing some silver hair. She is cautiously looking around, looking rather furtive.
It is obvious that this is Miss Loila Hamilton.
Loila cautiously peeked out from behind an armor rack to look around, and after confirming that no one was around, she quickly moved a few steps.
Don't get me wrong, she didn't come here to steal the Philosopher's Stone; that was a story from several years ago. And of course, she's not here now to assassinate Dumbledore or anything like that.
She simply wanted to do something even more astonishing than either of those things—and it all had to do with the wand she was currently clutching tightly in her hand.
Feeling the coolness, Loila walked through the somewhat narrow corridor and then gently exhaled a breath of stale air.
She had thought there would be no one at Hogwarts during the summer vacation, but it turned out that there were still some professors there, as well as Filch, the castle's caretaker.
Although Loila was also a professor at Hogwarts, it was best that no one knew what she was about to do.
After all, if Dumbledore knew—Royla felt he might want to kill her outright.
Yes, it's that exaggerated.
"Clatter".
"Oops!" The noise behind her startled Loila. She hurriedly raised her wand and looked in that direction.
"Hiss hiss hiss hiss."
It was Miss Nagini—Loy breathed a sigh of relief after seeing the snake's shadow.
"Nobody's here?"
Hearing Nagini's words, Loila breathed a sigh of relief.
She jogged to the spiral staircase in the lobby, glanced up, and then hurried up.
Her destination this time was neither Dumbledore's office nor her own, but a rather mysterious place.
That is the Room of Requirement, located in the upper floors of Hogwarts—not only is it where Royla obtained magic power when she set up the magic circle maze, but it is also the central hub of Hogwarts.
All of Hogwarts' magical supply, all its magic arrays, and even its protective mechanisms and anti-Apparition charms rely on the hub there to function.
What Loila wants to do now is to connect this hub to her wand.
In other words, it's about secretly taking control of the entire Hogwarts!
Imagine, you no longer have to wait by the spiral staircase for your turn; you can simply tap your wand and walk straight back to your office without stopping.
There's no need to worry about the corridor lights going out at night and being too scared to walk alone; just a tap of the magic wand will turn all the lights on—and you won't even have to worry about the water getting cold in the bathroom if you take a shower too late.
With just a tap of the wand, all the magic circles and mechanisms, large and small, at Hogwarts can be automatically activated.
Dumbledore, what's the point of you being the headmaster? You might as well give it to me!
Loila couldn't help but chuckle to herself at the thought. "If I ever become the principal, I'll turn this place into the stronghold of the Ulster Party, and train every student to become a member of the Ulster Party and a subordinate of Lord Grindelwald!"
Hearing the somewhat eerie laughter coming from Loila beside her, Nagini, now a snake, flicked her tongue helplessly.
Soon, the person and the snake arrived at the Room of Requirement on the fifth floor of Hogwarts. As Loila walked around the door three times with practiced ease, the door of the Room of Requirement quietly appeared in front of her.
Looking at the door before her, Loila saw no longer an ordinary door, but a door to power, a door to the pinnacle.
"Clatter".
The door was opened, and then closed.
At this moment, all that remained around Loila were those complex magic array hubs, which were intricately intertwined and then flickered faintly with the glimmer of magic.
Even though she had been here once before, Loila was still incredibly surprised by how special this place was—she wondered which professor or headmaster of Hogwarts had created it, as the intricate and complex magic array system that spread throughout the entire school could not have been completed in just a day or two.
Loila had already thoroughly examined these magic arrays and was very familiar with the meaning of each one, so she didn't linger on them and went straight to the central location.
She had already inscribed a linking magic circle here for the Goblet of Fire tournament, aiming to connect the magic here with the outside world. Now, this linking magic circle can be used to connect with Royla's wand, and after connecting with the central magic circle of the Room of Requirement, it can achieve the goal of controlling the entire Hogwarts.
However, this is destined to be a rather troublesome task. After all, this is the center of Hogwarts, where countless magic circles converge. Therefore, Royla is prepared to fight here for a whole summer.
She pursed her lips, then rubbed her hands together and took out one item after another from her spatial storage. Not only were there various magic array materials, but she also took out a tent, books, and even pots and pans.
The House of Requirement was transformed into a camping area in no time.
"Miss Nagini, these—I'll leave these to you." Loila looked apologetically at Nagini, who had returned to human form and was now busy. Her mind was almost entirely focused on the magic circle.
"I know, I know," Nagini said with a shrug. "You've been busy stealing the whole of Hogwarts, haven't you?"
"This—this isn't stealing—" Royla explained, blushing, "This is—this is to help Dumbledore better control Hogwarts—"
"Maybe one day I'll be in a good mood and just—I'll give him the wand, right?"
"That would be for the best." Nagini chuckled noncommittally, then began arranging the clutter.
Loila, meanwhile, picked up her quill and wand and went to the center.
If I'm not mistaken, this should be the place responsible for controlling the flow of magic power, and then controlling the activation of magic arrays throughout the castle by controlling the amount of magic power flowing out.
So the first thing to do is to connect this place to the connection magic circle — Loila carefully analyzed, then took out a quill and gently tapped it.
"Clatter".
As she moved, a soft sound came from outside the door of the House of Requirement, followed by some kind of shaking.
"What's going on?" Nagini asked Loila.
"Ah—it should be alright—I probably just temporarily shut down the spiral staircase—" Loila pursed her lips and quickly lifted the quill pen, realizing she had been a little careless—she patted her face to focus.
This is the center of the entire Hogwarts magic circle; if it's handled improperly, it could break.
That means I might spend the rest of my life doing repairs here.
However, this place is indeed very ingenious. The core and edges of each magic circle have their own functions. — Loila's quill pen lightly drew a line, connecting one of the magic circles to her own.
This was originally a very simple action, but as Loila raised her quill, the entire central magic circle in front of her suddenly lit up.
"Huh?"
Loila paused for a moment, then immediately realized what was happening.
"Miss Nagini, get out of the way!"
As she finished speaking, blue magic suddenly gathered and condensed into a pale blue wizard image in front of Loila.
He was an old man with a white beard that cascaded down like a waterfall, resembling a lion's mane around his face. In his hands he held a magic wand and an exquisite longsword.
