Chapter 38, An Encounter with an Orc Camp

Battlefield of the Heavens.

Lin Ran pressed her forehead, and the dizziness quickly disappeared as the spiritual energy washed over her.

Looking around, what comes into view is not much different from the small world, or rather, there is no difference.

The sky's color is also normal, showing changes between day and night.

If it weren't for the denser and more active spiritual energy in the air, one might think they were still in the small world.

However, this is because it is still near the exit of the small world and will be affected by the radiation of the mother world. Only after leaving a certain distance will you be able to see the real battlefield of the heavens.

Lin Ran looked around and saw Yun Zhu and Meng Yu beside her, so the teleportation had gone smoothly.

"Brother Lin, which way should we go?" Yunzhu looked around without any surprise. She had entered the human realm from the cat-human mother realm by passing through the battlefield of the heavens.

"Let's go to the mission location first."

Lin Ran took out the terminal. The current terminal can only point in one direction and will lose its function once you leave the signal range.

Maps created using extraordinary methods are needed to determine locations and areas.

However, this is only limited to the known areas. If you accidentally enter an unknown area, it will be a large-scale wilderness survival challenge.

After confirming the location and direction, Lin Ran glanced back at the wormhole in the sky, and then set off without looking back.

……

Three hours later.

Lin Ran glanced at the completely dark sky, indicating that he had completely left the radiation range of the Mother Realm and officially entered the Battlefield of the Heavens.

The battlefield is vast and boundless, containing all sorts of strange regions, even some star regions. Only in areas where stars and the mother world exist will there be changes in light and dark; the rest of the place is unchanging darkness.

Light does not exist in these areas, so spiritual vision is needed to replace normal vision.

"Five hundred kilometers to go, let's keep going." Lin Ran took out a map to check and continued on.

This area belongs to the human race, but it is too large and most of it is unsuitable for habitation, thus forming a vast wasteland.

Various creatures will spawn in the wasteland, and these creatures are collectively referred to as monsters in the Alliance.

Monsters are driven by a instinct for killing and destruction, and they have little intelligence. If left unchecked, their numbers will eventually reach a limit, attracting the attention of the abyss.

Once the abyss descends, the consequences will be extremely severe, even affecting the human race's homeworld.

The origin of magical beasts comes from the abyss, and unless the power of the mother world covers them, magical beasts will continue to breed.

Lin Ran walked less than 20 kilometers before encountering the magical beasts she had previously only seen in books.

Its appearance is that of some kind of reptilian beast, with a kind of strange and unrecognizable feeling. It has four pairs of eyes on its head, and each eye is looking at a different position.

One eye spotted Lin Ran and the other two, and the remaining seven eyes all looked over.

"roar!"

The monster let out a low growl and pounced.

Lin Ran raised his hand, and a golden cylindrical transparent shield enveloped the three of them. A square pillar made entirely of earth spiritual energy grew out of thin air, blocking the path of the magical beast.

The monster couldn't dodge in time and crashed headfirst into it.

Part of the pillar was smashed, but instead of scattering, more fragments emerged and enveloped the monster's head.

Meng Yu's petite figure appeared beside the monster, holding a beautifully designed straight sword, and with one stroke, she chopped off the monster's head.

The headless corpse lay on the ground, twitched for a while, then stopped moving. The body then rapidly decomposed, leaving only a piece of black crystal.

Mengyu picked up the crystal and handed it to Lin Ran.

"Monster crystals contain a lot of spiritual energy, but they are extremely violent and difficult to digest. They are not as efficient as attribute crystals and are generally used in weapons," Yunzhu observed and roared.

"Let's go."

The three continued their journey.

Not long after, they encountered a second magical beast. Upon spotting them, the beast pounced without hesitation and was easily defeated.

After traveling about 100 kilometers, a bright light suddenly appeared in the darkness.

Lin Ran stopped decisively, and Yun Zhu and Meng Yu stopped together.

Yunzhu clenched her fists, and two balls of flame enveloped them.

Mengyu drew her black straight sword, and her clothes turned black, almost blending into the darkness.

Lin Ran squinted and observed for a while. In the light, she saw several humanoid creatures, which seemed to be creatures from other mother realms, rather than some special terrain.

However, this is human territory, so it is not normal for outsiders to appear here.

After observing for a while, Lin Ran silently sensed that there was no significant resistance, so she strode forward to the light.

After about five or six hundred meters, you will be able to see the creature in the light ahead, as well as the source of the light.

The source of the light was a pure white bead, which emitted a soft glow that illuminated an area about 100 meters in diameter, allowing one to see the ground clearly without the aid of spiritual vision.

The creatures in the light were all humanoid, with human-like appearances but different beast-like features on their heads and lower backs, seemingly some kind of beastman.

Several orcs had already spotted Lin Ran and his companions approaching and were on guard in the light.

After getting closer,

Lin Ran saw these beastmen clearly.

There were six orcs in total. Two had bull horns on their heads, two had wings on their backs, and two had special patterns on their faces. They did not have any wild animal features on their heads or backs, but they were definitely not human.

"Who are you?" a horned beastman stepped forward and asked in a deep voice.

"This is human territory. I am a human inspector. Do you have any proof that you are staying here?" Lin Ran asked casually as she slowly approached them.

The horned beastman frowned, feeling a bit unlucky; he had only been inside for a short time when he encountered humans.

It said coldly

"Hmph, you claim to be an inspector? Do you have any proof?"

"Evidence? I am human."

Lin Ran shook his head slightly, and dragon scale armor and earth spirit shield appeared on his body. He raised his hand and threw a punch, and the red dragon flew out of his hand and flew towards the many orcs.

The horned beastman's face darkened, and he grabbed a large shield, hiding behind it.

boom!

The red dragon crashed into the shield, sending the horned orc flying backward and blasting him out of the camp in the blink of an eye.

Yunzhu bypassed from the side, leaving a trail of crimson flames behind her, and charged towards the orcs outside the camp.

Mengyu wielded a straight sword, moving even faster than Yunzhu. The color of the sword changed with the surrounding light, making it almost imperceptible unless one looked closely.

Lin Ran took a step and transformed into a red shadow, rushing towards the camp.

The orcs in the camp reacted quickly.

Winged beastmen flew into the air, horned beastmen rushed towards Lin Ran, and a black mist emerged from the back of a beastman with patterns on his face, blurring his human form. He then faced Yun Zhu and Meng Yu from the left and right.

Lin Ran clenched his fists, and two dragon heads of qi and blood reappeared out of thin air, aiming to smash into the chest of the bull-horned beastman.

A flash of light appeared on the surface of the horned beast's body, and a full suit of armor appeared out of thin air. Just as it was about to counterattack, the soil beneath its feet suddenly melted, causing it to lose its footing for a moment.

The next moment, the two dragon heads slammed into its head and chest, one above the other.
