Chapter 63 Carter Slade Appears, Whereabouts of the Contract
This is what His Majesty mentioned—the Sub-Father level!
Logan and Clarisse gritted their teeth, their muscles tense, resisting the terrifying pressure that was bearing down on them. They were both horrified, finally experiencing firsthand what a power beyond their comprehension truly meant.
The air was thick with the smell of sulfur and scorched earth, and the hellish energy pressed down on every inch of space as if it were a tangible force.
Although the hellish rift opened by the Demonic Heart of Witch has closed, the residual dimensional energy still makes the surrounding environment distorted and bizarre.
"You play with him, I need to go see an old friend in hell."
The Ancient One's voice remained calm and composed, as if the world-destroying scene before her was nothing more than a minor disturbance.
He said something to Ye Feng indifferently, and then his figure disappeared like ripples on water, as if he had never existed.
Ye Feng nodded slightly, understanding that Gu Yi was there to intercept Mephisto's true form, which might be attracted by the commotion, as well as interference from other dimensional beings on Earth.
"Hand over the San Venganza Pact! Otherwise, I will personally crush each and every one of you and extract what I desire from your souls!"
The troll, transformed from the Witchheart Demon, roared like thunder, echoing across the entire battlefield.
His voice was filled with absolute confidence and murderous intent, and his scarlet eyes swept over the tiny humans below as if they were lambs to the slaughter.
Inside the distant military command post, the atmosphere was so heavy it was almost palpable.
Through the blurry images transmitted by high-magnification reconnaissance equipment, high-ranking military and intelligence officials gasped as they watched the suddenly gigantic demonic figure on the screen.
Although the image was constantly distorted due to energy interference, the terrifying shape was still clearly visible.
"My God—what kind of monster is that?!"
A young staff officer gasped in surprise, his coffee cup slipping from his hand and shattering on the metal floor.
"A demon! A real demon!"
"All the legendary warnings are true; these supernatural entities do indeed threaten our world."
The head of the intelligence department slammed his fist on the control panel, his face turning ashen.
A three-star general stared intently at the screen, forcing out the order through clenched teeth: "All units, retreat five miles! Establish an even wider buffer zone! No one is permitted to approach without my direct order!"
He turned to his assistant and added, "Contact every religious advisor and occult expert you can find immediately. I need to know this thing's weakness! Quickly!"
Inside the command center, everyone wore expressions of panic. The inhuman pressure was palpable, even through the screen.
That was a fear stemming from the instinct for survival; the demon on the screen had completely surpassed humanity on a life level.
"Is there really a way to deal with such creatures?"
Someone thought to themselves, and unconsciously clenched the cross hanging on their chest.
Inside the mirror space, Ye Feng calmly observed everything outside.
"The strength of a sub-father level is sufficient," he muttered to himself.
Even after reaching the level of a sub-Celestial Father, the Witchheart Demon still had no sense of this mirror space, which gave him a deeper understanding of the magic system of Kamar-Taj.
However, Ye Feng had no immediate intention of making a move. He sensed that the military's firearms were already aimed at this location, waiting only for the right opportunity.
Ye Feng was waiting for the perfect moment. Only when one is on the verge of despair does one realize the preciousness of hope.
The power of beings at the sub-celestial level is far more despair-inducing than depicted in movies and television shows.
Ye Feng thought of Thanos's indiscriminate slaughter of half the life on every planet he visited. How could he be so reckless? Was it because of his Dark Order or the Chitauri army?
In the universe, there are countless civilizations with technological superiority over the Chitauri army.
The Shi'ar Empire, the Kree Empire, the Skrulls—just Ronan the Accuser alone is enough to overwhelm the Nova Corps.
Thanos, as the demigod father, is naturally even more terrifying than Ronan. This is the oppressive aura of an absolute powerhouse.
Although the Demonic Heart of the Witch before me only managed to push himself to the sub-father level by relying on the energy overflowing from the Hell Dimension, it was still enough to shake the current Earth.
A being at the level of a sub-celestial father is not something that technology cannot limit, but rather something that current Earth technology simply cannot achieve.
In the center of the battlefield, an overwhelming pressure swept across the entire city.
The evacuating residents and some military and government personnel maintaining order were all pinned to the ground by this oppressive force. Many couldn't even lift their heads; they could only prostrate themselves on the ground, trembling uncontrollably.
"Damn it! What the hell is going on?"
A soldier lying on the ground spoke with difficulty, his teeth chattering with fear.
Those who were there in person were more able to perceive this fear that came from the depths of their souls than those who observed it through a screen.
Johnny's hellfire flickered precariously under the oppressive aura of the Witchheart Demon, like a candle in the wind. He was clearly not having an easy time facing a Witchheart Demon of the sub-Celestial level.
But he still forced himself to stand up and provocatively said, "Want the San Van Gonzaga Contract? You're dreaming!"
"boom!"
The speed of Wu Xinmo's punches had exceeded the range of their naked eyes.
Johnny felt an irresistible force strike his chest, and he was sent flying like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily into a half-destroyed building.
The already shattered land was now even more devastated. Debris flew everywhere, dust filled the air, and a huge crater was formed.
"Don't be courting death!"
"I'm saying this one last time: hand over the San Venganza Contract! We can leave Earth immediately!"
"Witchheart Demon roared."
A hint of barely perceptible anxiety was visible in his tone.
In the rift of the Hell dimension, he sensed an aura that made him tremble—the aura of Mephisto and the Ancient One.
He knew he had been discovered.
"Are you scared?" Logan keenly sensed something was wrong.
Logically speaking, Wu Xinmo should have the upper hand at this point, so why would he show fear?
"boom!"
The Demonic Heart of Witch stomped down, stepping on Logan, the immense force causing the ground to crack once more.
"My patience is running out. I'll ask you one last time! Where is the contract?!" the Demon Heart roared.
Logan was stomped to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood. Although his healing factor was rapidly repairing his injuries, the excruciating pain nearly made him faint.
"Are you telling the truth?"
"You'll leave Earth if we hand over the contract?"
Suddenly, an aged voice reached the ears of everyone present.
"Neigh!" The warhorse's neighing rang out.
Carter Slade rode his mount with difficulty to the battlefield. It was only thanks to the temporary cessation of fighting that he was able to get close.
"Carter Slade! You old bastard, you've finally decided to show up?"
"That's right, as long as you hand over the San Venganza Contract, I'll leave Earth immediately!"
A hint of joy flashed in Wu Xinmo's eyes.
The power fluctuations behind the dimensions are growing stronger; Mephisto might already be fighting the Ancient One. If this drags on any longer, he really will die!
Carter Slade looked at the Witchheart with a complicated expression, then at the injured Logan and Johnny who had just crawled out of the rubble.
He knew that the Supreme Master had not appeared for so long, and the Supreme Sanctuary had not sent any monks to handle the matter, so something must have happened.
Continuing to resist will only cause more unnecessary casualties.
"Okay! I'll give it to you!"
I hope you'll keep your word.
Carter Slade sighed deeply.
He took the San Venganza Pact from the shovel he carried and tossed it to the Witchheart. It was a yellowed parchment scroll, its surface radiating an ominous, dark aura.
"That's it! It's the one!"
"I finally got the San Venganza Pact!"
Wu Xinmo's eyes were filled with wild joy.
"Let's go!" Even at this moment, Wu Xinmo had not forgotten his three allies.
The three elemental demons were overjoyed and followed suit.
Knowing that Logan and Johnny couldn't be killed anytime soon, and not wanting to waste a single second, Wu Xinmo vanished from his spot and flew towards the town of San Venganza.
This contract can only be fully unleashed within the town.
Why did you give him the contract?
Johnny struggled to his feet, the flames on his head flickering, and looked at Carter Shrew with a mixture of confusion and anger.
"Are you just going to watch them die?"
"We are no match for him; continuing to resist will only result in total annihilation."
Carter Shrew shook his head helplessly.
Logan and Clarice fell silent.
They originally thought their power had reached a fairly high level, but after witnessing the power of a sub-father, they realized just how vast the gap between them truly was.
"The Witchheart Demon has absorbed the power of Hell. Can His Holiness the Pope win?" Johnny walked over to Logan and Clarice.
Although he had heard of Ye Feng's power, he had never witnessed it firsthand. The power of the Witch Heart Demon truly stunned him! That kind of power gave people a feeling of being invincible.
Logan fell silent, unsure himself. Because Ye Feng had never revealed his true power.
Clarisse, without hesitation, declared, "Your Majesty will definitely win! That demon, though powerful, is no match for Your Majesty."
Johnny and Carter Slade breathed a slight sigh of relief upon hearing this. Regardless of whether they could win or not, it at least proved that Ye Feng possessed power on par with the Witchheart Demon.
"Little girl, you have a lot of confidence in me." Ye Feng's voice suddenly rang in everyone's ears.
The air seemed like a mirror that had been suddenly shattered, and Ye Feng's figure appeared silently before everyone's eyes. His appearance did not cause any energy fluctuations, as if he had always been there, but no one had noticed.
"Your Majesty!" Clarice was overjoyed and almost jumped as she ran towards Ye Feng.
"Your Majesty, when did you arrive?" Logan struggled to his feet, his face filled with respect.
"They came with the Sorcerer Supreme, right when the Witchheart Demon had just opened the dimensional portal."
Ye Feng smiled slightly.
