I Created a Sanctuary in Marvel
Chapter 27 The Supreme Sanctuary, the Mage
"I see."
"Go back and get some rest. Leave this to us."
"The Vatican will handle this matter well."
Upon hearing this, Ye Feng nodded slightly, watching the pale-faced priest stagger away. Only he and Savis remained at the crime scene.
Savis cautiously took a half-step closer and asked in a low voice, "Your Majesty... do demons truly exist in this world?"
His eyes held a mixture of barely concealed fear and a flicker of excitement.
"Could the legendary hell... really exist?"
Ye Feng did not answer immediately. He looked around the crime scene, where a faint smell of sulfur still lingered in the air, mixed with the scent of candlelight and old wood.
"What you really want to ask is whether heaven exists, right?" Ye Feng turned his head and saw through the other person's thoughts at a glance.
Savas smiled sheepishly, his fingers unconsciously stroking the holy emblem hanging on his chest.
"Hell does exist." Ye Feng's voice was calm but carried an undeniable weight.
"And it's an extremely dangerous place. Don't have any curiosity about hell, Savis."
He paused, his tone softening slightly. "As for heaven... it exists as long as you believe."
He didn't tell Savis that Heaven had been silent for many years. Light in this world was gradually fading, suppressed by the ever-spreading darkness.
Whether among ancient gods, celestial beings, or abstract entities, deities representing light have become extremely rare.
Without saying another word, Ye Feng turned around and began to carefully examine the scene. A strange symbol was drawn on the ground, composed of complex geometric lines and incomprehensible characters, with dried dark red bloodstains remaining in the center.
He frowned slightly. Having only recently awakened his memories, his understanding of the Vatican's records about hell was limited, and this symbol was beyond his comprehension.
"Take a picture of it and send it back to the Vatican."
"Make them find out which demon's symbol this is."
Ye Feng gave the instructions.
Savis immediately complied, taking out specialized equipment to take pictures from multiple angles. Although the source of the symbol could not be identified, a powerful aura permeated the air.
Ye Feng secretly estimated that if this demon's true form in Hell was real, it would probably possess the strength of a sub-father.
Such a strong person would be considered among the top even in the vast realm of reality.
"No wonder he dared to cause trouble so blatantly..." Ye Feng muttered to himself.
Just then, he caught a glimpse of a familiar outfit out of the corner of his eye.
A man wearing a cloak and a mysterious pendant on his chest stood silently in the shadows outside the police line, seemingly blending into the surrounding darkness.
"Come in and have a look, friend," Ye Feng said, pointing in that direction.
The man in the shadows was clearly startled, and slowly stepped out of the darkness, revealing a well-defined face.
"Are you talking to me?" he asked, somewhat surprised, his gaze scrutinizing.
"Otherwise what?"
"Isn't the Sanctuary specifically designed to handle these kinds of things?"
Ye Feng smiled slightly.
Upon hearing this, the man's expression showed even greater surprise, but he quickly regained his composure.
"I didn't expect the captain of the Holy See's Saint Seiya Legion to know about the Sanctuary." As he spoke, he gracefully crossed the cordon and came to Ye Feng and the other man's side, his eyes immediately drawn to the symbols on the ground.
"How is it?"
"Can you recognize who it is?"
Ye Feng asked.
The mage stared at the symbols and formations on the ground, his brow furrowing deeper and deeper. "An old friend."
He finally sighed. "They really are persistent."
Just then, Savis's device beeped.
"Your Majesty, the Holy See has sent a message!"
"It's Valak, the Serpent Duke, one of the seventy-two demons of Solomon!"
He quickly scanned the documents, his voice involuntarily rising.
"The seventy-two demons of Solomon?" Ye Feng raised an eyebrow. No wonder they possessed strength comparable to a quasi-godfather.
The strongest among the seventy-two demon gods even possesses the combat power of a heavenly father, making him a powerful being even in the hell dimension.
Hell is the most unique of all dimensions, formed by an infinite split. Almost every god of hell from various pantheons can occupy a place in it, and the seventy-two demon gods are undoubtedly among the best.
"Yes, that's him." The monk nodded in confirmation.
"He has been silent for a long time since we sent him back to hell last time."
"Valak is a rather troublesome demon, with an extraordinary obsession with the dimension of reality."
His tone was solemn.
"But with the Great Array of Vishandi in place, how could he possibly bypass it and directly descend into the real dimension?" Ye Feng asked.
The Vishanti Array uses Earth as its base and is protected by three temples. Even a being like Dormammu, the Dark Dimension Lord, could not break through it by force, and Mephisto could only send a projection.
How could Varak be brought to life through a simple ritual?
"You actually know about the Vishanti Array?" The mage was surprised again. Although it wasn't a top secret, few people outside of the Holy See knew about it, and the Vatican's understanding of it should be quite limited.
"Actually, you misunderstood," the monk explained.
"The great formation itself is not indestructible, otherwise the Supreme Sanctuary would not be needed to protect it at all times. It would not be difficult for those demon gods to destroy an unguarded great formation. The true function of the great formation is twofold: first, to isolate the real dimension from other dimensions, preventing weaker demons from endlessly harassing it; and second, to weaken the power of extremely powerful beings."
He pointed to the ritual patterns on the ground: "For example, this Serpent Duke Valak, whose true form in Hell does indeed possess sub-father-level power, can fight against even me after descending through the ritual. The Vishanti Grand Array has never been omnipotent."
Ye Feng seemed to be deep in thought. Indeed, in various parallel universes, Earth has been invaded by demons quite a few times, and incidents of demons smuggling themselves in have also occurred frequently.
The Vishanti Array primarily serves a filtering and weakening function; its true guardians have always been the Sorcerers Supreme. After the Ancient One's death, the array was even destroyed by Dormammu's followers.
If Doctor Strange hadn't possessed the Time Stone, Earth would have already fallen.
As for beings like the god of the underworld, Sithon, and the great destroyer, Set, their power even surpasses that of the Vishanti, so the great formation has limited limitations on them. What truly restrains them are the earth mother Gaia and the God Eaters slumbering in the real dimension.
Thinking of this, Ye Feng suddenly understood.
"We're too late."
"He has descended into the real world through a ritual. This is likely to be a fierce battle."
The monk's voice pulled Ye Feng back from his thoughts.
Ye Feng stared at the symbol on the ground that seemed to still be slightly wriggling, and calmly ordered, "Since the ritual is here, he will surely descend here. We can simply wait and see. Savis, notify the surrounding residents to evacuate."
"Yes, Your Majesty!" Savis realized the seriousness of the situation and immediately began contacting the Holy See.
Ye Feng did not place all his hopes on the Supreme Sanctuary. Since the Holy See had decided to return to the transcendental world, it would inevitably have to deal with Hell in the future.
Moreover, he himself has a strong interest in exploring dimensional demons.
Otherwise, he wouldn't have gone to such lengths to search for the fragments of the Dark Book. Now that he has the opportunity to experience the power of hell firsthand, he naturally won't miss it.
The Vatican was extremely efficient, and soon the sounds of evacuation could be heard from afar.
"Aren't you afraid of causing panic by doing this?"
"You should know that in this era, the existence of demons and gods has been greatly diminished."
The monk looked at Ye Feng with some surprise.
