Chapter 98 Wukong's Extraordinary Encounters
Chapter 98 Wukong's Extraordinary Encounters (Third Update, Requesting Monthly Tickets!)
After discovering that Wukong had disappeared, everyone on the ship became anxious.
"Damn it! How could Wukong have disappeared?!"
Nami kept scanning the sea, but after searching in vain for Goku, she held her head and paced back and forth anxiously.
"It's all my fault. If only I had kept an eye on him." Weiwei looked full of self-reproach, blaming herself for relaxing and playing cards earlier.
If she keeps an eye on Wukong, she will know the moment something happens to him.
"Huh?"
The runner stretched its face into a fierce expression, bit the air, and pointed to the sea, meaning:
Could Wukong have been eaten by some ferocious beast in the sea?
! !
Nami, worried about Goku's safety, gave it a sharp rap on the head and scolded it:
"Wukong won't get eaten!"
If you asked her what kind of ferocious beast would eat Wukong, she would be the first to disbelieve it.
Aside from giant creatures like Laboon, whose size is so exaggerated that they could swallow their entire ship whole, how could Goku possibly be eaten by any ferocious beast? She still vividly remembers the scene where the opponent killed a sea monster with a single blow a long time ago.
"It doesn't look like he was eaten; it looks like Wukong untied the rope himself."
Sanji stood at the bow of the ship, pulled up the rope in the sea, and carefully inspected the end of the rope. He found that the end of the rope was intact and there were no signs of it being bitten off by any creature.
"Did he untie the rope himself?"
Nami was stunned for a moment, her mind racing.
"Could it be that he untied the rope to get back to the boat when the storm came, and then got swept away by the current before he could get back on?"
Hearing her guess, everyone fell into deep thought.
A few seconds later, Sanji nodded: "That's possible, but there's one thing I don't understand. Goku has Moonwalk, which allows him to fly. With his skills, he should be able to fly before the ocean currents sweep him away, right?"
Nami frowned. "Then tell me, what other possibilities are there?"
Sanji pondered for a few seconds, then shook his head: "I can't figure it out. Perhaps your guess is correct."
Nami turned her gaze to Vivi, who also shook her head: "I can't think of any other possibility either. Nami, if you're right, Goku was swept away by the ocean current, how are we going to find him?"
The ocean is vast and the weather is unpredictable. They need a navigation tool to reach the next island, let alone find a person in the sea.
That's incredibly difficult.
Nami went to the bow of the ship, looked at the sea, gritted her teeth, then took the rope from Sanji's hand and tied it around her waist.
"I'm going down to check out the currents. Remember to pull me back up later!"
The ocean currents on the Grand Line are constantly changing, so even if she could detect the current's current dynamics, the chances of finding the direction Goku was swept away would be slim.
But a slim chance is better than no chance at all, so she had to try no matter what.
So, just as Nami speculated, was Goku swept away by the ocean current?
The answer is correct, but the process differs from Nami's prediction.
Let's rewind to when the storm was about to break.
After swimming in the sea for a long time, Wukong suddenly realized that he was a little hungry.
After all, he had spent half a day training his tail before this, which had expended a lot of energy.
So he prepared to untie the rope and go back to the ship to ask Sanji for food.
But then, he suddenly noticed a large, delicious-looking fish gliding across the surface of the sea to his left before diving back in. "Hehe! I've decided, I'm going to eat it!"
His eyes lit up. After untying the rope, he didn't immediately return to the boat, but instead dived into the sea and chased after the big fish.
Just as he had swum some distance and was very close to his target, the storm came.
In an instant, the ocean became turbulent without warning.
One second the ocean current was perfectly calm, and the next it turned into a raging wild horse, crashing around in the sea and sweeping everything in its path into it.
Among them was Wukong.
Wukong's eyes widened, and his body was uncontrollably swept forward by the ocean current.
In the blink of an eye, he was swept away by the ocean currents a great distance, far away from the Dream Chaser.
He struggled desperately, finally managing to swim out of the raging current.
But the next second, before he could swim back to the surface, another current swept him away in another direction.
And so, after he finally swam to the surface and took a deep breath of fresh air, he realized that he seemed to have been separated from Nami and the others.
"Huh? Where are Nami and the others?"
He looked around blankly, but couldn't see the Dream Chaser on the sea.
Just then, a voice came from behind: "Little one, have you been shipwrecked?"
Wukong turned around and looked behind him, and saw a small boat drifting on the sea not far behind him.
On the small boat, a man wearing a cowboy hat, shirtless, with freckles on his cheeks, was looking at him with a gentle smile.
But Wukong's attention wasn't on him; instead, it was on a large fish being grilled next to him.
He recognized it! This big fish was the same one he had been chasing!
Although its body had turned a burnt yellow color and its original color was no longer visible, its unique scythe-shaped tail still made it instantly recognizable to him!
The man on the boat noticed that Wukong's gaze was fixed on his grilled fish, so he smiled gently.
"Little one, are you hungry? Come on up and eat with us."
Upon hearing this, Wukong finally focused his attention on the man, and drool uncontrollably streamed down his face.
"Really!"
"Of course, I can't finish such a big fish by myself, so I need someone to help me share it." The man said this deliberately so that Wukong could eat it without feeling guilty.
However, he didn't know that Wukong wasn't the kind of person who couldn't let go of his pride; he asked that extra question simply to confirm.
After receiving confirmation, Wukong swam over without hesitation, braced himself against the edge of the boat, and easily landed on it.
"Thank you! My name is Sun Wukong!"
"You're welcome. My name is Ace."
After a brief introduction, the two buried themselves in their food.
However, while eating, Ace suddenly drooped his head and fell asleep.
Wukong was so busy eating that he didn't notice this situation.
After he had eaten the entire fish down to its skeleton, he patted his belly comfortably and smiled.
"Ah~ I'm finally not hungry anymore."
At the same time, Ace finally woke up, raised his head, and instinctively reached for the big fish with his right hand, only to find that he had grabbed the fish bones instead of the fish meat!
"what?"
He blinked his hazy eyes, and when he saw the white bones in front of him, a question mark slowly appeared above his head.
Where's the fish? Where's my huge fish?!
