Fifty years ago, a pirate ship from the West Blue sped down from Reverse Mountain and arrived at the first location on the Grand Line—Twin Capes.

Unlike other pirates, they were accompanied by a small whale named Laboon, who was their companion.

"Labu! Why did you follow me here! Didn't I tell you to stay in the West Sea and not follow me?"

Upon discovering that Laboon had followed them to the Grand Line, the pirates were both angry and helpless.

They knew that the Grand Line was an extremely dangerous place, and Laboon was still a minor. If he traveled with them on the Grand Line, they certainly wouldn't be able to take good care of him, and he might encounter life-threatening danger at any time.

So before they climbed the Reverse Mountain, they specifically instructed Lab to not follow them and to wait for them to return in the West Sea. Unexpectedly, Lab, having fallen deeply in love with them, still took it upon itself to follow them.

"In that case, Laboon, you can wait for us here for a bit. The Grand Line is really not suitable for you to explore right now, so we've made a promise that we'll come back to find you after we've circumnavigated the world in three years."

"By then, you'll be all grown up and able to continue our travels!"

With smiles on their faces, the pirates played their instruments and sang Laboon's favorite songs in an effort to persuade Laboon to wait for them at Twin Cape. The entire Twin Cape was filled with a joyful atmosphere for a long time.

"Ugh!!!"

With tears in his eyes, Labun, though reluctant, finally agreed, preparing to grow up well during these three years and travel with his friends again after three years.

"We're leaving! Raab!"

"Please, Crocus, please take good care of this little guy for us!"

After several months of repairs at Twin Cape, and once the damaged hull was fixed, the pirates bid farewell to Laboon and Crocus, the lighthouse keeper at Twin Cape, and officially entered the Grand Line.

"So after that, Laboon lived with me, waiting for its companions to fulfill their promise and come to find it to continue its journey."

On the island, Crocus gazed into the distance, as if looking back through time to what had happened fifty years ago.

"But three years later, those guys didn't show up as promised; they broke their word."

"At that time, Raab and I both thought that something might have happened to them that prevented them from fulfilling their promise, but we still believed that they would come back to find Raab one day."

"And so, another three years passed, and those guys still didn't come."

"Laboon was already an adult by then. It was no longer a small whale the size of two people, but an adult whale much larger than a pirate ship. Although its companions still hadn't come, it still firmly believed that they would come back to find it."

The three of them, including Goku, were completely immersed in the story as Crocus narrated it. Sometimes they smiled slightly, sometimes they frowned, and sometimes they showed a tense expression.

"And then what happened? Did Laboon ever see its companions again?"

Goku looked at Crocus with expectant eyes, hoping to hear the answer he wanted to hear from him.

But Crocus shook his head, giving him the opposite answer.

"No, three years passed, then another three years, and so on for many years. Laboon still didn't see those guys. More than twenty years later, in order to find out where they were, I entered the Grand Line, but I still haven't heard any news about them."

Crocus looked wistful.

"So at that time I deduced that those guys had probably already left the Grand Line and would never come back to fulfill their promise to Laboon."

"I went back to Twin Capes and told Rabbo the conclusion, but Rabbo couldn't accept it."

"It believed that its companions must be waiting for it on the other side of the Red Line, so it wanted to go back."

"But by then, it was no longer as free to enter the waterways as it was when it was a child. Its size was much larger than the waterways, so it could never return to the other side of the Red Earth."

"So it began to crash into the red line, trying to create a passage back to the other side. The noises you felt earlier were caused by its impact on the red line."

At this point, Crocus sighed.

"Alas, this child possesses emotions just like humans, and is incredibly innocent, so even after fifty years, it still refuses to give up, crashing into the Red Earth every now and then."

"But the Red Line is not something it can break. Every time it crashes, it will suffer a lot of damage. In order to prevent it from getting hurt, I give it a sedative when it starts to crash, to calm it down."

Hearing this, Wukong and his friends fully understood the ins and outs of the story, and why the whale had blocked the waterway, facing the Red Earth.

It turns out it was missing its companions on the other side of the Red Earth.

What genuine feelings!

"Hmph! Pirates are all untrustworthy bastards. Laboon is really unlucky to have run into one like this!"

Nami was indignant about Laboon's plight.

After all, she had recently experienced the same thing as Raab.

"You must have been accidentally sucked in by Laboon, right? Come on, I'll take you out."

After telling the story, Crocus lost the desire to continue the conversation, so he stood up and spoke to Goku and the others.

"Haha, actually it's because—ouch!"

Goku chuckled awkwardly and scratched his head, wanting to reveal the real reason they had been sucked in by Laboon.

But before he could finish speaking, he cried out in pain.

"Is that so! Thank you so much!" Nami smiled broadly and pinched Goku hard with her hand behind her back.

Sanji was also very perceptive. Just as Goku let out a howl and was about to question Nami about why she pinched him, he quickly covered Goku's mouth, preventing him from saying anything more.

Damn it! Are you trying to make us leave this place?!

Both of them roared inwardly at the same time.

If Crocus finds out that Goku wanted to eat Laboon, given their deep friendship of fifty years, there will definitely be terrible consequences!

Crocus looked at them suspiciously, not understanding what they were doing.

But he didn't ask any more questions. Instead, after Wukong and the others returned to the Dream Chaser, he manipulated the mechanism to make the island move and slide towards the huge iron gate.

Then he opened the iron gate, led the way, and let Goku and the others follow him out of Laboon's body.

......

Soon after, when the real sunlight shone on her, Nami closed her eyes, embraced the sunlight, and praised it.

"Finally out! This warm feeling is truly the sunshine."

Previously, through Crocus's explanation, they learned that the blue sky and white clouds inside Laboon were simply drawn on by Crocus himself, and the light was just emitted by a lamp.

In other words, the so-called Shangri-La is all fake.

Even that small island was nothing more than an artificial island created by Crocus.

"Hey, old man, why don't you join us for a meal?"

At Twin Capes, Sanji moved some of the food he had prepared there, intending to have lunch there.

Crocus twitched his nose and a smile appeared on his face.

"Just by the aroma, I can tell these dishes must taste great. I didn't expect you, a young man, to have such good cooking skills."

"Of course! Sanji is our chef, and one of the best chefs in the East Blue!" Nami rarely offered her support.

Sanji immediately got excited.

"Ahhh!! Nami-san has expressed her approval of me, which means the day when Nami-san falls for me is not far off!!"

Nami: ......

I swear, if I ever say that again, I'll slap myself.

Not far away, Wukong was already eating a grilled fish.

But this time he wasn't as focused on the meal as usual. Instead, he kept glancing at the sea in front of him while eating, only revealing a bit of his back.

I don't know what I'm thinking.

At that moment, accompanied by the sound of waves, a pirate ship sped down the waterway of Reverse Mountain, then stopped in front of Twin Capes.

"Hahaha! The Grand Line! We've finally arrived!"

"Hey! Boss, look! There's someone over there!"
