Little Goku's Great Adventure Starting from One Piece
Chapter 14 Garp's Thoughts
Bang! !
Bang! !
Bang! !
......
The once silent, abandoned dock was now filled with a rhythmic, muffled sound.
With a determined look in his eyes, Wukong punched the ship again and again, his small body filled with tremendous power, making the ship rattle and clang.
Garp and Kuzan stood behind, watching this scene quietly.
After a short while, Kuzan suddenly spoke up: "This is the child you brought back, the one who is said to be very talented, right? I heard about him from Marshal Sengoku."
Garp nodded slightly and said, "That's right, he's the best prospect I've seen in recent years. If he's properly trained, he will become the next generation of pillars of our navy!"
"A pillar of strength? That's quite an impressive compliment," Kuzan said, slightly surprised.
In the navy, those who can be considered pillars of the navy must at least reach the rank of vice admiral.
As for the pillars of strength that Garp mentioned, even a vice admiral wouldn't qualify. Only an admiral, or rather, only someone with the strength of an admiral, could be called a pillar of strength.
"You should know who discovered this talent! I have complete confidence in this little guy!"
Garp crossed his arms and watched Goku earnestly pound on the hull, his eyes filled with anticipation and a smile.
Kuzan's lazy expression faded somewhat, and a hint of seriousness appeared in his eyes as he looked at Goku's back, as if he were pondering something.
After a while, he regained his lazy expression, yawned, and casually asked, "You're having him punch the warship now because you want him to inherit your iron fist, right?"
"But at his age, isn't it a bit too early?"
It's important to understand that this warship is incredibly tough. Without being able to use Armament Haki or Devil Fruit abilities, trying to break it would be extremely strenuous and painful.
To persevere requires immense willpower.
Back when he was around twenty years old, he started hammering the hull of the ship. If he hadn't had an extremely strong belief in his heart, he would have found it difficult to persevere.
Wukong is only a little over ten years old now, so it's hard to imagine him having such an extraordinary belief.
Karp scoffed at his question: "Hmph! When is it too early? When is it too late? In my opinion, this kid is just at the perfect age to be training in this!"
"And don't underestimate him just because he's young; his conviction is no weaker than yours was back then!"
"Oh?"
Kuzan became curious.
"What beliefs does this little guy hold?"
Garp casually replied, "His belief is to train to become stronger and surpass himself. Can you believe a child this age would say something like that?"
"It is indeed somewhat unusual," Kuzan said, raising an eyebrow.
"Besides, it wasn't my idea to bring him here so quickly. I originally wanted him to get familiar with Marineford and adapt for a few days first."
"But after I showed him Armament Haki and Observation Haki this morning, he couldn't wait for me to teach him. This little guy is so impatient."
Garp grinned as he spoke.
"So, you brought him here actually because..."
"That's right! I told him that the time he can dent the bow of his ship like mine, the time he'll be able to master Armament Haki!"
Garp's face was full of smiles.
Kuzan chuckled and shook his head: "Well, you really are..."
He didn't know what to say.
It's worth noting that the warship that Garp pounded on had such exaggerated dents that it took decades to form.
Now, if we let Goku dent the bow of the ship just like Garp's, wouldn't that be bullying the kid?
However, on the other hand, if one keeps hammering the hull here and honing one's fists, one day one might be able to develop Armament Haki.
In that sense, it's not exactly bullying; it's just keeping the cultivator in the dark for the time being.
"Hahahaha!" Capu laughed loudly.
The reason he did this was to give Wukong a tangible goal.
With a reference point nearby, Wukong's will to cultivate will become stronger, and the results of his cultivation will be better.
......
Bang! !
Bang! !
Bang! !
As Wukong continued to pound on the hull, half an hour quickly passed.
Garp and Kuzan had stopped talking and were looking at Goku, who never stopped throwing punches, with surprise gradually appearing in their eyes.
"It's been a long time, old man," Kuzan said, looking up at the sun in surprise.
"Hmm, this little guy is really surprising me more and more."
Garp's gaze remained fixed on Goku, and he was somewhat surprised.
Normally, someone training on a hard ship hull for the first time wouldn't be able to keep throwing punches for such a long time.
Even with the strongest willpower, the pain from the fist will always force the cultivator to pause, shake their fist, and rest for a while before they can continue their cultivation.
But ever since Wukong began his training, his punching motions have never stopped. He has been pounding the hull of the ship with a very regular rhythm, as if he doesn't feel any pain at all.
"He probably hasn't eaten any Devil Fruits with special abilities, has he?" Kuzan asked.
"No, he's not a landlubber. I've seen him swim before," Garp replied.
"That's strange. Doesn't he feel any pain?"
Kuzan noticed that Goku showed no sign of pain and couldn't help but feel a little strange.
"No, he can definitely feel the pain."
Garp grinned.
I beat this little guy so badly this morning, how could he not feel the pain?
"In this case, we can only say that he has a very good physical talent, in other words, he is tough and thick-skinned, and the hardness of the ship's hull does not cause him any pain."
Garp's smile faded, his gaze becoming somewhat profound, and a hint of worry lurked within.
The talent that Wukong has shown is making people increasingly suspicious that his identity and origins are not simple.
After all, physical talent is different from the talent that comes from learning the Six Forms.
The latter is something anyone can be born with, while the former is not; it requires the inheritance of genes.
In other words, Goku's parents must not have been ordinary humans, otherwise they could not have given birth to Goku, who was so obviously different from ordinary humans.
Garp began to think that Goku's appearance on that island might not be due to a simple reason like being abandoned, but he still firmly believed that Goku was a promising prospect for the Navy.
Even if his background is complicated and there are unknown secrets about why he was thrown on that island, he will never give up on training Goku into an outstanding marine!
Moreover, although they hadn't spent much time together, he had already grown fond of this incredibly innocent and righteous little guy.
If anyone wants to harm this little guy, they'd better ask him if his iron fist is still strong enough!
The two remained silent, simply watching Wukong continue to throw punches.
An hour later, seeing a shallow dent in the hull, Kuzan couldn't help but exclaim, "What an amazing little guy!"
He then stopped watching, said goodbye to Garp, and turned to leave.
