Clinging to the Witcher world to become a god of martial arts

Chapter 90: The Wizard Arrives and Interrogates

Inside the simple wooden house, Lorne sat at a wooden table, examining a small crystal bottle in his hand.

After exchanging his Tai Chi box, he took some time to go to the market, where he squandered all his savings, eventually exchanging them for a bottle of calming potion and a short blade worn at his waist.

The price of the Concentration Potion was originally 3 medium magic crystals, but due to the war, it doubled to 6 medium magic crystals.

The remaining magic crystals were not enough to buy a good weapon, so they could only choose a cheap short blade.

It's called a short blade because it's about 10 centimeters longer than a dagger. What's special about it is that it's inlaid with two kinds of enchanted runes: [Sturdy] and [Sharp], making it more durable and sharper than a regular short blade.

They sell a piece of junk with a couple of enchantments for a high price; they're all unscrupulous merchants...

When enchanted runes were mentioned, Lorne suddenly remembered the armor plate he had obtained in the elven settlement, which contained enchanted runes that had been lost to time.

The armor fragments gleamed with a dull metallic luster, and the runes on them were still clearly visible.

Deciphering a rune is no easy task; it requires a significant investment of time and effort, as well as the necessary deciphering tools.

Lorne did not meet any of these conditions.

This could indeed be listed as a long-term goal...

I definitely need to continue learning rune crafting, as it's the only way I can obtain magic crystals.

Lorne plans to increase his mental strength by allocating points through the panel and using drugs, so he can quickly skip the apprentice stage. In that case, acquiring magic crystals will be unavoidable.

He uncorked the bottle and poured the pale purple solution into the air in one gulp.

A familiar feeling of swelling came from my mind.

Patterns lit up on the silver bracelet, and the stabilizing wristband began to play a calming role.

The small lake began to churn violently...

Several hours later.

[Level 1 Wizard Apprentice (Progress: 35%)]

[Constitution: Boiling Blood (Locked)]

Level of mastery:

Black Sun Meditation (Mastery 237/800)

Spark Spatter (Beginner 10/200)

Arcane Blast (Beginner 15/100)

Lightning Ball (Beginner 58/100)

符文製作——明亮(熟练13/400)、坚韧(熟练55/400)、防护(初学19/200)】

Previously, the progress was only 4%, but after adding a little to the mental attribute, it jumped to 24%, and then reached 35% with the help of the Concentration Potion.

To put it simply, when the progress reaches 100%, the mental attribute should be 10, meaning each attribute point can advance by 20%, while each bottle of concentration potion advances by 10%, not taking into account drug resistance.

Each martial art, once mastered, will raise your proficiency by one small stage.

Then I went to practice the Heavenly River True Qi, and incidentally, I also learned the basics of Tai Chi...

Lorne pushed open the door and walked out onto the path.

It was already evening, and the sunlight was much softer than when we went to the market at noon. The houses in the apprenticeship area were covered with a thin layer of golden light.

Another all-nighter...

The days have been rather dull, with me spending my days either practicing martial arts or magic, and that's been my routine for almost the entire past week.

At first, it might feel novel, but after repeating it dozens or hundreds of times, you'll get completely bored and feel a bit tormented, with no end in sight.

Lorne was able to endure it; as long as he could feel his strength constantly increasing, he was willing to endure any loneliness.

Looking into the distance, the setting sun gradually sinks behind the western mountains, and the white clouds seem to be ignited, turning red.

A tiny sparkle flashed by.

Lorne rubbed his eyes, not paying any attention.

Until that glimmer kept getting closer.

A butterfly made of ice crystals slowly flew towards Lorne and finally landed gently on his head, pressing down his messy brown hair.

"Hmm?" Lorne raised his hand in confusion to grab it.

Ice crystal butterflies? That's quite rare.

"Stop!" a hoarse voice rang out.

The next second, a scorching aura descended instantly, sweeping towards Lorne with overwhelming force.

His body gave him a warning, and Lorne dodged immediately, sending the Ice Crystal Butterfly flying.

Even though I avoided most of the heat, a small portion still brushed against my palm.

The hand wearing the stabilizing wristband quickly shrank, as if all the moisture had been drained away.

"Quick reaction." The familiar wizard caught the ice crystal butterfly steadily where it landed and casually praised Lorne.

Two figures appeared before them: a wizard in a silk robe and a wizard in a red robe.

One of them was someone Lorne recognized; the overseer in charge of dealing with the Phosphorus Beetle attacks, I think his name was Mancini!

Mancini looked at the wizard in the red robes with a hint of reproach: "Hyman, you're being far too radical! I can't take responsibility for damaging the Tracking Butterfly."

The official wizard named Hyman did not reply, but stared at Lorne with an unfriendly expression.

Lorne's heart skipped a beat, and he immediately understood why the two had come to find him, but he still pretended to be puzzled.

"Lord Mancini, what can I do for you?"

He bowed, and after a moment's thought, looked up at Mancini with delight: "Could it be that there's been some progress on the phosphorescent beetle attack?"

The scene fell silent for a moment.

"Ahem!" Mancini coughed and pointed to Hyman beside him: "This gentleman has something to discuss with you."

Lorne's eyes showed even more doubt as he looked Hyman, the man in red robes and blond hair, up and down: "My lord, we don't seem to have met before."

"This is Lord Hyman," Mancini reminded him from the side.

"Lord Hyman, what brings you here?" Lorne quickly changed his address, bowing his head and asking sincerely.

"Ha..." Hyman stepped forward, his rough hand extending from beneath his wide robes, and grabbed Lorne by the throat, lifting him into the air:

"Don't play dumb with me, it's you, hand over the stuff!"

The scorching heat instantly enveloped him, and in that instant, Lorne's lips cracked, as if all the moisture in his body had been drawn out.

He didn't retaliate, but instead stared fearfully into Hyman's sharp eyes: "M-Sir, what have I done wrong?"

"Hand over the stuff now and I'll let you go." Hyman observed Lorne's expression suspiciously.

"Uh...uh..." Lorne kicked his legs weakly, struggling to get up.

The standoff lasted for a minute. Hyman kept pressing him for answers, but Lorne didn't respond. Under the influence of Hyman's magic, Lorne gradually lost his senses.

"Hyman, stop!" Mancini finally couldn't stand it anymore and spoke up to stop him: "Your magic contains the [Dryness] property, he won't be able to hold on for long."

"Openly killing an apprentice in the apprentice area will be severely punished, and even numerous merits cannot outweigh this crime!"

A group of apprentices had already gathered around, drawn by the commotion, their eyes filled with curiosity.

Hyman gently released his grip, withdrawing the magic that had enveloped Lorne: "What's the rush? I know what I'm doing."

Lorne fell to the ground, his consciousness fading. The Star Vortex began to spin rapidly, its water energy flowing to every inch of his withered body.
