Chapter 14 The Conflict Comes to an End

Ma Hongjun withdrew his Martial Soul Possession, slowly landing on the ground. He glanced at Tang San, whose face was gloomy, and gave a disdainful smile.

Flander sighed and looked at Tang San and Ma Hongjun. He hadn't expected that Xiao Gang's disciple would be facing off against his own disciple on his very first day. However, to be fair, he still reprimanded Ma Hongjun first.

"Hongjun, the power of your third soul skill is now comparable to the full-force attack of a level 45 Soul Master. Are you trying to kill someone by recklessly using this attack on a new student?"

Looking at the serious-looking Flander, Ma Hongjun couldn't help but purse his lips, and began to explain somewhat unconvinced.

"It's this kid who's been giving me trouble, insisting that I apologize to him. I just made a bet with Oscar about who among these people could pass or what type of Soul Master they were."

"Bullshit! You were smiling deliberately at the girls just now, and not just at us. We just happened to see it. We only asked him to apologize to us, but this fat guy mocked us for not being worthy, insulted us repeatedly, and even burned my clothes and hurt me."

Upon hearing Ma Hongjun's words, Xiao Wu couldn't help but retort, pointing to several burn and scald marks on her clothes.

Flander was somewhat helpless upon hearing this; such behavior was indeed something this kid was capable of. And, unsurprisingly, it was highly likely that he had pointed and whispered about female trainees.

Looking at Xiao Wu's burned clothes, Flander guessed it was an accidental injury. After all, he knew the power of Ma Hongjun's flames; if it were truly an accidental injury, the damage would be much more severe.

Flander then turned around and asked Ma Hongjun again for his reason for using the third soul skill.

"Hongjun, that's not an excuse for you to use your third soul skill. I need a legitimate reason. This is just a competition at most."

Ma Hongjun was already somewhat displeased after hearing Xiao Wu's words, but what she said was indeed true. Moreover, he couldn't lie to his teacher, Flander. However, hearing that Flander wanted him to explain, he couldn't help but look at Tang San with a cold smile and begin to recount his reasons.

"When a shameless new student discovered that his martial soul was countered by mine, he couldn't resist launching a sneak attack against me. Does that count?"

Upon hearing this, Tang San's face darkened even more. He hadn't expected that this fat man would dare to insult him in front of a Soul Saint, and his resentment towards Ma Hongjun intensified.

When Flander heard the word "ambush," his face darkened. It was just a match, yet he launched an ambush. This showed that the boy's personality was definitely dark and murderous.

Flander sighed, looking at Tang San with a helpless expression, unsure what to do. Tang San launched a sneak attack. If Tang San weren't Xiao Gang's disciple, Flander would have expelled him from the academy on the spot. He glanced at Ma Hongjun one last time with a hint of apology, then left after saying a few words.

"This matter ends here. If you use this as an excuse to fight in private again, then you will be punished."

Looking at the last glance Flander gave him, Ma Hongjun guessed that Tang San must owe Flander something, or perhaps Tang San himself, or someone behind him.

Otherwise, even if the opponent was incredibly powerful, Flander would definitely have expelled them from the academy or given them some kind of punishment. Flander's expression just now showed his utter disgust at the sneak attack, but in the end, he ended the farce in a very abrupt and unsatisfying way.

"Xiao Ao, take Ning Rongrong to the final stage. I have to go now."

Ma Hongjun exhaled a breath of stale air, intending to go find Flander to ask about this matter, and turned to speak to Xiao Ao.

After hearing about Flander's previous behavior, Xiao Wu thought the fat man would be punished, but she was surprised to hear that her third brother had used hidden weapons. In the end, the matter was resolved lightly. Looking at Tang San's gloomy face, Xiao Wu couldn't help but want to argue with Ma Hongjun again.

But she had just taken a step when Tang San grabbed her hand, suppressing his displeasure. He looked at Xiao Wu and gently persuaded her.

"Xiao Wu, this is the teacher who let me enter this academy. No matter what, we have to get through this. Once we're enrolled, we'll stay and slowly figure out how to get revenge later. If this fat guy deliberately sabotages things in the end, we'll just have to prepare our plans later."

Xiao Wu nodded reluctantly upon hearing this, her fists clenching as she watched Ma Hongjun leave. This was the first time in her life she had suffered such a great loss, and he had even escaped for the time being. She was determined to make him pay a bloody price.

As Tang San finished speaking, his eyes were filled with murderous intent as he looked in the direction Ma Hongjun had left. First, he harassed Xiao Wu, then he insulted the two of them, and finally he even humiliated and injured Xiao Wu. In Tang San's mind, Ma Hongjun was practically a dead man.

Tang San was initially satisfied with Flander's performance. However, the way he ultimately handled the situation left Tang San resentful. In Tang San's eyes, Flander was simply blatantly protecting his student.

After all, in Tang San's eyes, using hidden weapons is called a sneak attack, which is why Tang San thought that Ma Hongjun and Flander might team up to find a way to get him and Xiao Wu out.

However, while Tang San was still preoccupied with figuring out how to deal with Ma Hongjun, Oscar and Ning Rongrong chatted for a while. They noticed that San Xiaowu and Xiao Wu were still standing there, whispering to each other, and Oscar couldn't help but remind them impatiently.

"Hey! Are you two starting from the first level or going to the final level? You can't keep the girl waiting while you two stand there doing nothing."

Upon hearing this, Tang San finally realized what was happening. However, looking at Oscar urging him on, he figured Ning Rongrong was genuinely getting impatient. After all, Tang San had no recollection of how long he and Xiao Wu had talked about this.

Tang San looked at this person and felt a surge of resentment, thinking to himself, "No wonder they're in the same group."

However, Tang San and Xiao Wu still chose to follow, as clearing the level was more important to them at the moment.

At this moment, Ma Hongjun, who had just gone out, encountered Dai Mubai, who had returned. Looking at Dai Mubai in front of him, Ma Hongjun couldn't help but pull Dai Mubai aside and pour out his grievances.

"Brother Dai, you have no idea. Two shameless scoundrels showed up today. I glanced at the woman, and she insisted that I apologize to her. She even brought a pretty boy to spar with me. That pretty boy's martial soul is actually a useless Blue Silver Grass. I didn't even bother using my soul skills; I just easily crushed that kid. That pretty boy actually dared to ambush me. I was going to teach him a lesson, but then Teacher Flander came back and actually sided with that pretty boy. When he found out that the kid had ambushed me, he told me to let it go. Tell me, Brother Dai, how could I possibly tolerate that?"

After Ma Hongjun finished his rambling, Dai Mubai had already guessed what had happened.

It was nothing more than Ma Hongjun guessing that he was pointing at Xiao Wu from a distance and being seen. Ma Hongjun only told the truth halfway before the fight broke out. Because Tang San's spirit was weaker than Ma Hongjun's, Tang San was no match for him and used a hidden weapon when Ma Hongjun was careless. However, Ma Hongjun reacted quickly and was about to use his third spirit skill on Tang San when Flander returned and witnessed it.

Dai Mubai actually felt that Flander's return was very timely. After all, Tang San should have the Dragon Beard Needles at this time, and Ma Hongjun, if careless, was very likely to be hit.

Moreover, Dai Mubai had witnessed the pain of the Dragon Beard Needles firsthand, and he didn't want Ma Hongjun to suffer from it. However, Dai Mubai was also somewhat angry that Tang San dared to treat his brother like this.

Flander's apparent favoritism had its reasons: Tang San was Yu Xiaogang's disciple, and Ma Hongjun had also made mistakes. Otherwise, Tang San would have been punished for the sneak attack during the competition.

"Let's go, Fatty, I'll apply to be the examiner for the final round."

Dai Mubai turned around and glanced at Ma Hongjun, who was still indignant, and casually remarked.

"Really? Boss Dai, I love you to death! You have to teach those two bastards a lesson!"

Upon hearing this, Ma Hongjun couldn't help but rush over and hug Dai Mubai, but then a single sentence from Dai Mubai made him change his mind.

"If you want to challenge me with them, then bring me here."

"Hehe, how could that be? I trust Boss Dai the most, and you know I like women, Boss Dai."

Dai Mubai walked ahead and couldn't help but rub his forehead. Ma Hongjun's habit of sticking to him casually made him a little uncomfortable. After all, he had Zhu Qing now, and it wouldn't be good if this fat man kept hugging him while Zhu Qing was around and made her misunderstand.

Tang San and Xiao Wu were unaware that he was about to suffer the worst beating of his life.
