Chapter 5 The Green Elf, First Battle

Upon hearing this, Lynn frowned, but in that short moment, two figures emerged from the woods.

These were a man and a woman wearing leather armor. Judging from their age, they were probably around twenty years old, but their strength was quite good. Lynn could tell from their footsteps that they were both level six warriors.

"There's only one person here, but to dare to live in the Dark Mountains at night, he must be a strong person!" As the two emerged from the darkness, they also saw Lynn sitting alone by the campfire, heating his food.

"They're human!" Seeing their appearance clearly, Lynn lowered his guard and asked, "Who are you?"

"Senior Lynn? Is that you?" Hearing Lynn's question, the man asked with surprise, then, without waiting for Lynn's reply, he hurriedly explained, "My name is Mans, and I'm a sixth-year student at Magat Warrior Academy! I've seen your portrait in the academy's graduating class memorial room!"

Lynn was also somewhat surprised upon hearing this. He hadn't expected to run into someone he knew on his very first day in the Dark Mountains. He nodded, "It's me. You all look so flustered, is something chasing you?"

The male warrior named Mans nodded repeatedly: "Senior Lynn, we came to the Dark Mountains to participate in the graduation trial. Our trial team originally had six people, all of whom were between level five and level six warriors!"

"After six months of rigorous training, we were preparing to return to the academy for our graduation ceremony... but this noon, we encountered a powerful member of the Green Elf clan. We didn't provoke it... but it attacked us without warning, chasing us since noon. Apart from the two of us, all the other students are dead at its hands!"

Due to his panic, Mans's description was somewhat fragmented.

However, Lynn understood, and he nodded: "Don't worry, now that you've seen me, you're safe! I'll handle that powerful Green Elf!"

Before that Beast God broke through to godhood, the Eastern Continent was a two-way struggle between humans and beastmen.

In the Western Continent, there is only one overlord: the Green Elves. All other races are vassals of the Green Elves, because their Elf King is also a deity.

"Strange, even if the Green Elves entered the Dark Mountains, they should be roaming in the west. Why would they be here on the Eastern Continent?" Lynn comforted his two junior classmates, but he couldn't help but feel puzzled. "Besides, Green Elves aren't a bloodthirsty race. There's no reason for that powerful Green Elf to keep chasing Mance and the others! Unless—"

Thinking of this, Lynn calmly asked, "Mance, have you offended that green elf?"

Mans looked bitter when he heard Lynn's question: "Senior Lynn, how could we dare to provoke such a powerful person? If we hadn't run into him, we wouldn't want to see him at all."

Lynn nodded, but his ears suddenly twitched. As a God-Eating Rat, his sense of hearing and smell far surpassed those of humans, especially in the dark, when he was enveloped by dark elements, his hearing was greatly enhanced.

At that very moment, he heard the sound of a bowstring being drawn in the distance, and the target was him!

"Are you going to kill me too?" Lynn realized the green elf's intentions and couldn't help but laugh in anger.

"Buzz~"

An arrow pierced the air at supersonic speed, making a loud bang, and shot straight toward Lynn.

"Get out of the way!" Lynn shouted softly to warn the two behind him, while he himself gripped the greatsword with both hands and slashed fiercely in the direction from which the arrows were coming.

The emerald green surface of the arrow, illuminated by the moonlight, looked eerily strange.

boom!

The greatsword blade collided with the arrowhead, producing a violent impact. The arrow shattered into fragments that flew out in all directions. Lynn, however, remained calm, gripping the sword with both hands and quietly watching the direction from which the arrow had come in the darkness.

He said calmly, "Since you're here, come out!"

"Your strength is quite impressive!" A strange, common-sounding accent rang out, and then a slender figure with two pointed, erect ears and an eerie green glow emanating from its exposed skin slowly emerged from the forest.

He glanced at the two men hiding behind Lynn, then at Lynn himself: "But tonight, you will all die!"

"You want to kill me?" Lynn's murderous intent gradually rose within him upon hearing the green elf's words. "Then let's see who ends up dying!"

Lynn could tell at a glance that this green elf was also a level nine warrior, just like him. Having the bloodline of the God-Devouring Rat, Lynn didn't believe that there was any level nine warrior in the Orlando plane who could be his match!

Upon hearing this, the Green Elf merely smiled contemptuously and said nothing more. He drew his rapier from his waist, accelerated rapidly, and transformed into a green afterimage as he charged towards Lynn.

"Die!"

The green sprite thrust out with a sword.

"Boom~~"

As he thrust out, the space centered on the tip of his rapier seemed to be compressed, pressing down fiercely on Lynn. The pressure from the surrounding space made it impossible for Lynn to dodge the sword; he could only take it head-on.

"The power of heaven and earth! This is the power of heaven and earth!" Lynn immediately recognized the move the green elf used: "I never expected to encounter a powerful being who has comprehended the power of heaven and earth so soon after entering the Dark Mountains!"

The Green Elf's sword strike stirred the power of heaven and earth, not only causing the space to compress Lynn's movements, but also drawing upon the power of heaven and earth to amplify it. His sword strike was far more terrifying than that of an ordinary level nine warrior!

Does Lynn need to hide?

Of course not, he never considered dodging from beginning to end!

If a God-Devouring Rat had to dodge when facing a human of the same level, it would be a disgrace to the God-Devouring Rat!

Even with the support of the power of heaven and earth, how could the Green Elf possibly compare in strength to a super divine beast of the same level?

A glint of light flashed in Lynn's eyes as he wielded the greatsword with both hands. The greatsword, weighing a thousand pounds, was as light as an embroidery needle in his hands, demonstrating the mastery of effortless mastery.

The massive greatsword was as light as a falling leaf, while the slender round sword carried the force of a collapsing heaven and earth. The two swords clashed violently together.

"Boom!"

The surging shockwave from the impact spread outwards from the two of them, even extinguishing the campfire in the fierce wind.

Mans and his companion couldn't help but feel a tightness in their chests, and involuntarily took a step back.

But the one who suffered the most was the powerful member of the Green Elf clan.

The power of a level nine God-Devouring Rat is absolutely comparable to that of an ordinary Saint Realm expert!

Even though he had grasped the power of heaven and earth, he could not bridge the enormous power gap between himself and Lynn!

The rapier was knocked out of Lynn's hand by the impact, and he was thrown far away by the force of the impact. Half of his body was numb, and blood was flowing from the corner of his mouth.

"How is this possible?" The green elf's narrow, jewel-like eyes were filled with shock!

He had already grasped the power of heaven and earth, and only needed to accumulate enough battle qi to step into the Saint Realm. Yet he lost in terms of power to a human whose realm was merely "effortless mastery"?

Seeing that Lynn was already charging at him with his sword, while he remained paralyzed in place, unable to move, he hurriedly shouted, "Wait! I am a disciple of the gods!"

"Wait for your head!" From the destruction of Kuster City, the death of his wife and children, to the destruction of the human holy city and his becoming a vassal of the orcs, Lynn had long harbored a bellyful of anger with nowhere to vent it.

At this moment, even if this green elf were a disciple of a god, or even if he were the god's father, he would not be able to make Lynn stop!

Before the green elf's incredulous eyes, the greatsword swept across, slicing into the elf's shoulder.

The effortless power bursts forth in an instant—

"Boom!"

The upper body of this green elf was directly blasted into minced meat!
