Chapter 118 The Attack from the Black Corner Region.

In an instant, several figures emerged from the sandstorm, all dressed in black, their faces covered by masks, exuding an unfriendly aura. "Hand over all your valuables, and perhaps we can spare your lives," the leader said coldly, his voice revealing an undeniable ruthlessness.

Xiao Chong frowned slightly, but showed no panic. Instead, a playful smile appeared on his lips: "Oh? Looks like things will be a bit lively today. However, you probably don't have the ability to snatch things from the disciples of Canaan Academy."

"Arrogant!" With a furious shout, the men in black drew their weapons, instantly escalating the tense atmosphere.

Just as tensions were rising, a disciple suddenly whispered to Xiao Chong, "Senior Brother, are we really capable of handling this?"

Xiao Chong returned a determined look: "Trust me, and trust yourselves. Let's go together and teach them a lesson!"

At Xiao Chong's command, the disciples of Canaan Academy took up their formations, ready to fight. Xiao Chong himself moved with the speed of a ghost, weaving through the enemy ranks with each strike clean and swift, displaying the demeanor of a master.

In the heat of battle, a conversation broke out amidst the chaos:

"Senior Brother Xiao Chong, your strength is truly astonishing!" The thin young man panted, his sword still gleaming, his eyes filled with excitement and admiration.

Xiao Chong smiled, his sword tip gently deflecting an enemy's weapon: "Everyone has unlimited potential, and you are no exception. Remember today's battle; it will be a valuable asset on your path to growth."

With the final scream, the men in black were all defeated and scattered. The Canaan Academy team, though disheveled, could not hide the pride and joy on their faces.

"Let's go, this is just the beginning, the most exciting part is yet to come." Xiao Chong clapped his hands, his tone relaxed, as if everything that had just happened was just a trivial interlude.

The group continued their journey, but the seeds of fearlessness and unity had been planted in their hearts, giving them greater anticipation and confidence for the adventures to come.

"Senior Brother Xiao Chong, you're right. True growth does indeed come after weathering storms. I look forward to witnessing more miraculous moments with you." The thin young man's words were filled with unprecedented determination and longing.

"Then let's move forward together and leave our own legend in this vast world." Xiao Chong's gaze pierced through the distant mist, his words filled with longing and passion for the unknown world.

The babbling brook and dappled sunlight on the clear water brought a touch of coolness and comfort to the weariness of the journey.

The students gathered by the stream, passing water bottles around amidst laughter and enjoying nature's bounty. However, this tranquil scene was soon shattered by a sudden burst of chaos.

"Ugh... I feel so dizzy..." a student suddenly clutched his stomach and groaned, his face pale.

Immediately afterwards, more students collapsed one after another, their cries for help rising and falling, instantly turning the originally cheerful atmosphere into one of tension and panic.

Xiao Chong keenly sensed something was wrong and quickly scanned his surroundings, his brows furrowing. "Oh no! Everyone, stop drinking water!" he shouted a warning, while hurrying to the student who had first felt unwell.

"What's going on? Is there something wrong with the water?" The thin boy rushed over, his eyes filled with anxiety.

Xiao Chong carefully examined the liquid in the kettle, then said in a deep voice, "The water has been poisoned. We must find an antidote immediately."

"Who would be so cruel as to attack us?" a student, barely managing to stand, asked angrily, his voice filled with confusion and fear.

"Never mind who it is, saving lives is the priority." Xiao Chong calmly gave the order. His voice was firm and powerful, like an invisible force that gradually calmed the panicked crowd around him.

He took out a crystal-clear jade bottle from his robes; it was a rare antidote he had obtained during his travels in his younger days. "Distribute this powder to everyone, dissolve it in water, and then drink it," he instructed, already beginning to prepare it.

Everyone followed their instructions, and soon the poisoned student's symptoms began to subside, averting a crisis. However, this incident undoubtedly served as a wake-up call for everyone, reminding them that the dangers of travel were far more complex than they had anticipated.

As night fell, the group sat in a circle around the campfire, the atmosphere heavy with tension.

Xiao Chong's deep gaze swept over everyone's faces, finally settling on the thin boy. "This incident has exposed our lack of vigilance towards the outside world. From now on, we must be more careful."

"Senior Brother Xiao Chong, who do you think did it?" the thin boy asked in a low voice, his eyes flashing with determination, clearly not intending to succumb to the unknown threat.

Xiao Chong shook his head. "It's still uncertain, but I believe that whoever did it, their goal is to hinder our progress. We cannot let them succeed."

"Then what should we do? Just sit here and take the beating?" another student couldn't help but exclaim indignantly.

Xiao Chong's lips curled into a meaningful smile. "Of course not. We must become stronger and respond to all these challenges with our strength. Starting tomorrow, I will teach you some basic self-defense techniques and knowledge of identifying poisons, so that no one will dare to underestimate the students of Canaan Academy."

The firelight illuminated his face, making him appear exceptionally resolute and unyielding. Hearing this, the surrounding students' eyes ignited with fighting spirit and hope.

"Okay! We will definitely learn our skills well to protect ourselves and our companions!" The skinny boy was the first to respond, and the determination he exuded from within was no longer that of a naive newcomer.

"Yes! We must become strong!" The others echoed, their belief taking root in their hearts and coalescing into a force not to be underestimated.

As night deepened, Xiao Chong concealed himself in the darkness, his aura completely suppressed, as if he had merged with the pitch-black night. He squinted at the two dark figures standing by the stream, knowing full well that these night travelers were no good, and were likely the masterminds behind the attempts to disrupt the peace of Canaan Academy.

"Have you heard? Today, that Xiao Chong actually boasted in front of everyone that he would teach us all to protect ourselves." A deep voice rang out, tinged with disdain.

"Hmph, quite the boast. But Canaan Academy has always valued strength above all else. Do these 'special' students think they can change anything with just a few words?" Another person sneered, his words full of contempt for Xiao Chong and the others.

Xiao Chong frowned slightly, his fingertips lightly tracing the short blade hidden in his sleeve, pondering how to subdue the two men discreetly and gather more information. Just as he was thinking, he suddenly moved, approaching the two men as silently as the night wind.

"Hey, brother, slow down, this forest isn't safe." Xiao Chong's voice suddenly rang out from behind, startling the two men in black who turned around abruptly.

"Who?!" The two quickly assumed fighting stances, but apart from the sound of the wind, there was no other movement around them.
