Lux finally managed to calm the Poro named Lumi after a long while. Then, looking up at the setting moon, she knew that if she slept now, she would face a terrible ordeal the next morning.

"Then I'll leave it to Lux tomorrow morning," Lux thought, "I really can't stay awake any longer." With that thought in mind, Lux fell asleep peacefully.

The sun rose again, and as sunlight streamed through the windows of Hogwarts once more, Lux was already fast asleep, oblivious to the world around her.

"Lux? Lux! Wake up! If we don't get to the Great Hall soon, we'll miss breakfast." Anna Weasley shook Lux's shoulders vigorously, while Phoebe Longbottom started haphazardly putting clothes on her.

Even though her three roommates tried their best to wake Lux up, she kept disconnecting and restarting like a network with a bad signal. In a daze, she was pulled by her roommates to breakfast, which was almost over.

Lux, sitting at the long table, seemed to have regained some of her senses. She remembered that she was supposed to bring Lumi some meat, so she groggily grabbed a sausage from the plate and put it in the outer pocket of her robe.

"Oh my god! Lux, what are you doing?" Mia Brown, who was sitting next to her at the table, looked over in shock.

"This...this is Lumi's...favorite food..." Lux's words were still a bit slurred, and she looked like she was about to fall asleep any second.

Phoebe rubbed her head; this new roommate didn't seem very reliable.

Led by her three roommates, Miss Lux was able to sleep on the desk in the far corner of the classroom, just as she had wished.

The sturdy tabletop and the reassuring touch—Lux had never slept so soundly since leaving school in her previous life, and she finally experienced it again in this life.

As a long-established magic school, Hogwarts cultivates students' magical abilities from various angles. From the first to the fifth year, everyone must take compulsory courses such as Transfiguration, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Charms, Potions, Astronomy, History of Magic, and Herbalism. At the end of the second year, students must choose electives, selecting at least two courses that interest them.

Although the first lesson was on Transfiguration, it didn't actually let the young wizards get hands-on experience. Instead, it focused on the essence of Transfiguration magic, since the professor for this course was Albus Dumbledore, the current headmaster of Gryffindor.

"Young wizards, perhaps you are already eager to cast spells and see magic like this as soon as possible..." Dumbledore waved his wand, and the scarecrow used as a teaching aid turned into a pony, paddled twice, and then turned into a puppy.

"...But all powerful magic begins with an understanding of the nature of things." Dumbledore glanced around the classroom. The scarecrow, now a small dog, lay obediently beside his shoes, its tail wagging gently. Dumbledore swiftly put away his wand, and the small dog "poof"ed back into its original scarecrow form.

"Now, I will give you the simplest transfiguration spell. Try it, little wizards." Dumbledore wrote a clear and rhythmic transfiguration spell on the blackboard.

"The goal is to turn your feathers into a button. Remember, fluid movements, accurate pronunciation, and most importantly, visualizing what you want it to become in your mind, the more specific and determined the better."

The classroom was instantly filled with the sounds of chanting and the somewhat clumsy waving of wands. Some feathers turned into strange, fluffy buttons, while others simply emitted black smoke, eliciting a small gasp and a gentle reminder from Dumbledore.

Dumbledore paced between the desks, his gaze intentionally or unintentionally drifting once again to the quietest corner of the classroom, where Lux was fast asleep, even drooling slightly.

He walked over with light steps, without shouting, but as he passed Lux's table, Dumbledore's wand deftly twirled in the air.

A tiny, almost invisible breeze, with a warm, gentle touch, lightly brushed across Lux's hair.

"Ugh..." Lux suddenly sprang up from the table, her consciousness starting to turn with difficulty like a rusty gear, feeling like she had been caught by a teacher in school.

Never mind, let's find an excuse first.

"Uh, I didn't sleep, I just closed my eyes for a moment, really!" Lux groggily wiped her mouth, her eyes focusing blankly, just in time to meet Dumbledore's smiling, all-knowing eyes.

"Good morning, Lux," Dumbledore said gently, his voice not loud but clear enough to reach Lux's ears. "It seems you were quite excited last night, which is inevitable for many young wizards when they first arrive at Hogwarts. Look at the feathers on your desk."

"Huh? Oh! Sorry, Professor!" Lux instantly snapped out of her daze and frantically grabbed the feather and wand on the table, which were slightly forked from being crumpled and damp with saliva.

"Give it a try. I've written the incantation and instructions for casting the spell on the blackboard."

Under the watchful eyes of her roommate Phoebe, who covered her face, and the sympathetic or amused gazes of her classmates, Lux took a deep breath and tried to concentrate.

She looked at the feather in her hand, but her mind was still on Lumi with the Freljord accent and the square-toed boy's skills from last night. The spell seemed to roll unconsciously on her tongue before she uttered it, her movements stiff and perfunctory.

however……

A soft white light flashed, and the feather in her hand changed instantly!

A small, perfectly round brass button with a gleaming edge lay quietly in her palm. Not only was its shape perfect, but its luster was even more lustrous than that of all her classmates.

Several classmates who were working hard nearby couldn't help but let out low gasps of surprise. Even Dumbledore's eyebrows twitched slightly, a hint of unexpected but intriguing curiosity flashing in his eyes.

"Oh?" Dumbledore murmured in approval. "A very intuitive transformation. It seems Miss Lux has a crystal-clear understanding of how to cast this spell. Very good."

Lux stared at the brass button in her hand, momentarily stunned. She hadn't even realized she'd succeeded in "concentrating her mind to trace the button"? That's it...she succeeded?

Could it be that……

Am I really a one-in-a-million magical genius?!

Lux is exceptionally intelligent; once you learn the incantation, you can master the most basic effects of this magic.

[Unlocked: Basic Polymorph. You can level up by repeatedly casting the spell to gain experience, or by using skill points to level up directly.]

It's alright now, it turns out it was Brother Tong who took action.

Dumbledore nodded with satisfaction. "You are the fastest among the first-year students to master this Transfiguration spell. In principle, I should give Gryffindor a bonus, but since Miss Lacus was sleeping just now, I can only verbally praise our clever Gryffindor."

The students in the classroom were whispering amongst themselves. After all, most of the young wizards' attempts had failed because they hadn't listened to Dumbledore's words at all. They just kept casting spells and thought they had learned something by sheer luck.

After Dumbledore turned to the other side, Miss Lux was overcome with sleepiness again. She then clutched her stomach and slumped heavily onto her desk.

What to do when you're both sleepy and hungry?

Lux barely ate anything in the Great Hall. Damn it, why isn't there a feeding spell?

Hey, who put the sausage in my pocket? Lux rummaged through her pockets and discovered the unexpected find.

She had largely lost her memory of that morning; she didn't even know she had made a joke.

After quickly finishing his dinner, Porolumi was worried about where to wipe his greasy hands.

Just then, a handkerchief, whose owner was unknown, was placed on her desk. Lux looked in the direction of the handkerchief and saw Tom, who had already produced a button but was still pretending to be very busy.

Lux looked at Tom with a hopeful expression, thinking that this kid had finally gotten the hang of things and learned to care for his classmates. She believed that he would eventually be able to get out of the mire of dark magic and become a useful person to the magical world.

After class, Lux's three roommates immediately surrounded her. "Lux, Lux, how did you do that?" Phoebe asked curiously. After all, as a member of the Longbottom family, her daily studies were very strict under the instructions of her sister, Augusta Longbottom, which made her demand as much of herself as her sister.

"Yes, that must be getting enough sleep."

"That's really useful advice," Mia remarked, though she hadn't succeeded earlier.

"Oh dear, you've been learning magic, so your belief must be your magic." That was the only explanation Miss Lux could offer. Magic is inherently a subjective thing, and the system directly provided her with the means to cast spells.

"Alright, alright, we still have another class to go, and we need to get there quickly, the classrooms are quite far apart." Anna Weasley pulled the two of them by the hand and walked forward, while Phoebe followed behind, muttering the Transfiguration spell she had just used.
