Chapter 32 Heroes Appear
A barely perceptible glint of cruelty and excitement flashed in Fenrir's eyes as his gaze swept across the crowded wolves below the stage like a hawk's. The burly men who fanatically supported him were eager to try, but he knew that test subjects... needed to be "controllable" and "without any worries."
His gaze finally settled precisely on Vera, the little girl huddled in the corner, wearing an old dress.
This little girl, who was taken in by the Fang Gang after she turned into a wolf, had no relatives or friends in the gang, so no one would question her even if something happened to her.
"You! Little brat! Yes, it's you!" Fenrir's voice carried an undeniable command, "Get up here!"
The two guards immediately rushed over and roughly dragged the terrified little girl out of the corner.
Vera's light gray-blue eyes instantly filled with tears, filled with extreme fear and helplessness. She struggled in vain, letting out whimpers like a small animal.
"No! Let me go! Let me go!" Vera's piercing cries were particularly jarring in the silent open space.
"Stop! She's just a child!" The middle-aged female werewolf clutching a tattered doll at the edge of the crowd couldn't help but shout.
"Whisper!" Fenrir glared at her fiercely and used a silencing spell to make Vera's voice barely audible. The guards immediately dragged Vera to the platform.
The masked man was indifferent to this. He gestured for Fenrir to take Vera to the center of the platform. Vera was forced to kneel down by the Leg Locking Curse, her small body trembling like a leaf in the wind.
Those light gray-blue eyes stared in terror at the approaching masked man and the stone emitting an ominous red light.
"No...no..." Vera's voice was weak and feeble, filled with despair.
The masked man showed no mercy. He bent down, like the Grim Reaper, and slowly pressed the blood-red magic stone against Vera's forehead.
Just as the stone, reeking of blood, was about to touch Vera's skin...
"Waaaaaaahh ...
A piercing, inhuman scream, sharp enough to tear the soul apart, erupted instantly.
The sound was completely unlike that of a ten-year-old girl; it was filled with unimaginable extreme pain, as if her flesh, bones, and soul were being forcibly torn apart, dissolved, and reassembled from the inside by a violent force!
Vera's body convulsed and twisted violently, her eyes rolled back instantly, and blood gushed from her mouth and nose.
An eerie red light suddenly erupted from the point of contact between the Philosopher's Stone and Vera, instantly engulfing her small figure completely! Within the red light, Vera's body seemed to melt and deform, emitting a tooth-grinding sound of bones shattering.
This horrific scene struck everyone's hearts like a heavy hammer. The werewolves, who had initially hoped for power, now showed horror and fear on their faces. Even Fenrir subconsciously took a step back.
Lux felt a surge of anger rising within her, and she almost rushed forward, but reason made her hesitate. On the other side were three dark wizards who had mastered dark magic and teleportation. The leader was already level 11 and the other two were already level 9. In addition, there was Fenrir and a group of werewolves who might be incited. Could she win if she attacked now?
Lux at level 2 has no room for error; her Zhonya's Hourglass was used to block the previous Cruciatus Curse.
She glanced instinctively at Holmes beside her, only to see a cold rage burning in the old detective's cloudy eyes, but his hand, tucked into his coat pocket, gripped the gun handle tightly, also searching for an opportunity.
Just then, on Lux's minimap, which only she could see, three friendly unit icons and a group of minion wave icons quietly appeared in the direction of the sewer entrance and were approaching the gathering point at an alarming speed.
Holmes keenly noticed the instantaneous change in Lux's eyes, from extreme anger and hesitation to a sense of relief, and guessed that some kind of wizarding communication method had taken effect.
Their eyes met in mid-air for a moment. Without a word, the strange tacit understanding they had developed in just a few days reached a consensus in an instant.
Let's do it! Old Deng is on his way! Let's start the group buy!
The hero has arrived!
Holmes abruptly pulled his hand from his coat pocket and drew his revolver, which shot out a burst of fire.
boom! boom! boom!
Three deafening gunshots rang out, but Holmes's arm remained as steady as a rock. The three bullets were fired with perfect accuracy at the wrist of the masked leader on the high platform, who was completely focused on the human transmutation of the masked man holding the Philosopher's Stone.
"Ah!" Although the masked leader was caught off guard, he reacted quickly and used his magic wand to deflect several bullets.
The blood-red magic stone flew out of his hand.
Meanwhile, Lux had already pointed her wand at the platform!
"Break your weapon! Bind of Light!"
A disarming spell was fired directly at the masked leader, followed immediately by a golden beam of light that shot like a rope toward the masked accomplice closest to Vera.
Lux, having regained control of the situation, didn't stop. With a sudden flick of her arm, she tossed Lumi, whom she had been playing for several chapters, out of the room.
"Poro Throw!"
"Pop pop!" Lumi instantly transformed into a white lightning bolt, striking the bound masked man precisely.
The next second, Lux's figure blurred and disappeared from the spot, and when she reappeared, she had already teleported to the edge of the high platform.
"You're too close to that girl!" Lux roared, her green hair turning back to gold as she used her magic. Lux descended like a Valkyrie, her wand pointing directly at the center of the platform.
Chaos erupted instantly!
"Enemy attack!!!"
"It's that green-haired girl and the Squib! They're undercover agents!"
"Protect the adults! Kill them!"
"That child is already in such a state; the Philosopher's Stone is a scam!"
"Fenrir and the cultists have lied to us!" Lux shouted, needing to stir things up and provoke conflict.
Fenrir, his eyes blazing with fury, roared as he drew his silver dagger, while the fanatical werewolf wizard pulled out his wand, turning the open space into chaos.
The masked man's accomplice, who had been dazed and confused by the Poro's hurled attack, had just broken free of the light's restraints when Lux teleported right in front of him!
She gave the other person no time to react, her wand almost slamming into their mask:
"Take this face-to-face E!"
The translucent singularity has been released.
boom!
A dazzling ball of light exploded in front of the masked man, the blinding light causing the werewolves rushing towards the platform to pause for a moment.
"What kind of damn magic?!" The other masked man exclaimed in shock and anger, frantically waving his wand: "Armor Protection!"
The masked leader, whose Philosopher's Stone had been knocked away by Holmes's precise shot, looked at the Philosopher's Stone, which was still emitting an ominous red light, rolling to the edge of the platform.
He glanced again at his subordinates who were being briefly forced back by Lux, and at the Fang Gang below the stage, where the two factions were in chaos and attacking each other.
A ruthless glint flashed in his eyes.
He suddenly bent down, not to pick up the Philosopher's Stone, but with lightning speed, grabbed Vera from the ground. Vera, who had temporarily stopped convulsing due to the interruption of the Philosopher's Stone's power, was on the verge of death and bleeding from all seven orifices!
"The power of the Philosopher's Stone has been transferred. This child must be taken away, Fenrir! Hold them off! Let's go!" the masked leader growled, giving another subordinate a wink.
"Apparition!" The masked leader's incantation was cut short, like a rooster being choked.
"No entry here!"
The deep yet authoritative voice did not come from the high platform; the spatial restriction of the curse pressed in from all directions as if it were a tangible force, instantly filling the entire noisy and chaotic underground space.
"Apparition!" He tried to leave again, but the spatial distortion light that had just lit up his body struggled for a moment, and then went out completely with a "poof"!
An invisible repulsive force struck them hard, slamming the three of them back onto the high platform!
Bang! Dust flies everywhere!
The three were in a sorry state, their eyes behind their masks filled with horror and disbelief.
Who is it that can so forcefully seal off the entire area with a counter-curse?!
"Who used the anti-spell! Step forward!" Fenrir roared in shock and anger, pointing his silver dagger at the entrance to the passage from which the voice came.
All the werewolves and dark wizards' gazes, as if drawn by invisible threads, were directed toward the entrance to the settlement.
There, the heavy shadows and polluted air seemed to be separated by an invisible barrier.
Albus Dumbledore was the first to step into the firelight. He was still wearing a black suit, and his auburn hair and beard seemed to burn with a gentle yet undeniable flame in the flickering firelight.
His face was expressionless, his azure eyes calmly sweeping over the chaotic scene. His gaze lingered on Lux for a moment, a hint of understanding flashing in his eyes, before settling on the masked man struggling on the high platform and the dying Vera.
His steps were steady, as if he were walking on his own corridor, but with each step he took, the atmosphere in the open space became solemn.
Immediately following him were seven or eight Aurors who were dressed in dark blue Auror uniforms, with grim expressions and wands gripped tightly. They moved swiftly, spreading out in a fan shape in an instant, their sharp eyes and the magical tips of their wands locking onto every werewolf and dark wizard present.
Beside Dumbledore stood two figures with strikingly different demeanors.
On the left is the collector, Eamon, still wearing his elegant blue robe, his deep brown eyes calm and unwavering, as if everything before him was within his expectations.
His gaze swept over Lux, then fell on the "Magic Stone" emitting a dim red light at the edge of the platform, his brows furrowing almost imperceptibly.
On the right is an old man who looks much older than Dumbledore, as if he has stepped out of a historical painting. His hair and beard are all white, but his face is surprisingly gentle, with a kind of peace that comes from understanding the ways of the world.
It was the legendary alchemist, Nicolas Flamel.
Albus Dumbledore (Level 28), Nicolas Flamel (Level 24), Amon Rosier (Level 18)
"Holy crap! Old Deng!" Lux almost couldn't hold back when she saw the system notification. "This lineup can even beat Grindelwald. Fenrir is lucky. Three great wizards are here to serve you."
"Dumbledore?!" The masked leader's voice, coming through the mask, carried for the first time an uncontrollable shock and a hint of panic. He struggled to get up, but Dumbledore's calm gaze swept over him, making him feel his magic flow become incredibly sluggish.
"And... Nicolas Flamel?!" Another masked man's voice trembled, as if he had encountered his nemesis.
Fenrir's face was ashen, and his hand holding the dagger was trembling.
"It seems the farce has come to an end." Dumbledore's voice remained gentle, yet carried an undeniable air of judgment.
He didn't even draw his wand; he simply raised his right index finger, which was adorned with a ring, slightly.
Three silent, staffless beams of red light instantly struck the three masked figures struggling on the platform, who were still trying to put up a fight.
The speed was so fast that it was impossible for the naked eye to catch it! The three dark wizards didn't even utter a sound. As if struck by an invisible hammer, their bodies stiffened abruptly, and then they collapsed to the ground, their wands flying out of their hands.
"Aurors! Take control of the scene! Resistants are considered accomplices of the Muscats, and the use of necessary force is permitted!" Emon's booming voice rang out.
"Immediately imprison them!"
The Aurors sprang into action immediately, their spell beams shooting out like precise fishing nets, instantly targeting Fenrir's fanatical loyalists!
The werewolf wizard, who was just moments ago incredibly fierce, was like a lamb to the slaughter in front of a professional Auror. He couldn't even muster a decent resistance and was instantly petrified and bound like a dumpling with ropes!
"Fenrir Greyback!" Amon's wand pointed directly at Fenrir, who was trying to slip into the shadows. "You are suspected of colluding with the Mughal Party, planning and participating in multiple murders, kidnappings, and illegal human transmutation experiments! Azkaban will be your home!"
A look of desperate despair and madness flashed in Fenrir's eyes. He suddenly threw the silver dagger in his hand at the nearest Auror, attempting a final struggle.
"Fenrir! Die!" Just as Fenrir was distracted by attacking the Auror, Lux, who had been holding back her anger, finally got her chance!
She didn't even use a wand; it was a standard running start and jump, typical of Lux, the orphanage demon queen!
"Take this Demacian Justice Kick!"
With the movement speed boost from her [Shoes], Lux moved so fast she left a trail of afterimages. She leaped high into the air, completely ignoring Fenrir's intimidation, and fueled by the rage she'd built up all night, unleashed a standard Knight's Kick.
Boom! ! !
A dull thud, solid and real!
Lux's boot soles landed precisely on Fenrir's contorted face, and the sound of his nose breaking was clearly audible!
Fenrir could only let out a half-scream before he was sent flying backward like he'd been hit by a battering ram, crashing into a pile of wooden crates behind him, kicking up a cloud of dust and sawdust, and instantly losing consciousness!
You delivered a critical hit to Fenrir Greyback.
"Phew..." Lux landed gracefully, flicking her disheveled blonde hair, and gave the unconscious Fenrir the middle finger. "Pah! Scum! Daring to experiment on children? Lux, acting on justice!"
The chaos was completely suppressed in a very short time.
Most of the werewolves, seeing Fenrir knocked unconscious with a kick, the saints of the Sorcerer Party instantly killed, and the Aurors looking like wolves and tigers, were already so frightened that they covered their heads and squatted down, completely losing their will to resist. Only a few die-hards were firmly bound.
The dust has settled.
