Chapter 47 Good Girl

At the Osborne home, after seeing Mary Jane off, Harry returned home somewhat disgruntled, looking at his father Norman Osborne, who was coldly processing documents, with dissatisfaction.

"You've been urging me to find a girl to marry and have kids, and now that I've brought one home, you've given her the cold shoulder the whole time?"

"You're talking nonsense! Mary was just curious since it was her first time visiting our house!" Harry angrily slapped Norman's hand away and roared.

"Besides, what right do you have to judge me? We're not even sure if Mary is a gold digger, but that Emma you're seeing, she's clearly after your money. Don't tell me you didn't know that!"

"Of course I know!" Norman Osborn retorted angrily. "Do you think I'm as stupid as you to not be able to tell if she's after the money? I've already taken precautions to protect my assets! I only take one dollar a year; if we divorce, she won't get a single penny!"

"Then why are you stopping me!" Harry shouted, clearly annoyed. "If you're so worried, I can just protect my belongings!"

"I'm afraid you'll fall for her!" Norman trembled with anger. "If you're completely infatuated with her, all your protection will be in vain. More importantly, once you take it seriously, even if she can't harm your wealth, she will hurt your heart! You're not me; you can't handle this kind of girl. Wouldn't it be better to marry a gentle and virtuous woman?!"

"Are you saying I'm not as good as you?! And Mary is the gentle and virtuous girl I'm looking for!" Harry became even more agitated upon hearing this, shouting, "Anyway, I've chosen her, you have to agree or not!"

"Mind your own business! If there's nothing else, I'm hanging up!" Harry retorted, dissatisfied.

"You!! Don't hang up, I have something to tell you!" Furious, but powerless to do anything about it, Norman Osborn snapped, "You said your girlfriend dreams of becoming a star, right?"

"That's right, old man, you're willing to help?!" Harry said in disbelief. Although he was the successor of the Osborn Group and had some connections, no one would give him face if the old man spoke up.

"I can help, but I have a condition." Norman Osborn knew from his son's excited tone that his son was deeply involved, but this only strengthened his resolve. It was better to end things quickly than to suffer for a long time; he had to make his move before his son got any deeper into trouble.

"Dad, what do you want to say?" Harry immediately changed his form of address and ran to the relatively quiet bathroom passage.
