Chapter 318 Forgiveness

Deadpool lay in bed, the television playing in his ears. He tried to concentrate, trying to hear the plot:

The TV show was showing the female lead having an affair with the male lead behind her husband's back, the two secretly meeting. Meanwhile, her husband, bedridden, knew nothing of it.

Deadpool's heart sank. This plot made him think of Vanessa and Xiao Xian. The more he listened, the more uneasy he felt, and his anxiety and jealousy surged within him. He began to wonder if Vanessa was really just cooking.

As the effects of the anesthetic wore off, Deadpool began to regain some sensation in his body. He gritted his teeth and struggled to get out of bed to see what was happening outside. However, the anesthetic hadn't completely worn off, and his legs were still weak; he collapsed heavily to the ground as soon as he stood up.

Deadpool groaned in pain, but he didn't give up. He decided to crawl forward, his body weak but his will unwavering. With all his might, he supported himself with his hands and slowly and laboriously crawled out of the room.

Every movement was torture; the cold touch of the floor against his palms made him feel powerless and vulnerable. Deadpool gritted his teeth, his mind focused on only one thought: I need to see what they're doing.

Deadpool moved step by step and finally crawled to the doorway.

Deadpool crawled to the door and peeked through the crack to see Xiao Xian leaning against the sofa watching TV. His back looked relaxed and at ease, but Deadpool didn't see Vanessa. Feeling even more uneasy, he continued crawling out of the room.

Just then, Xiao Xian turned around and saw Deadpool struggling to crawl on the ground. He asked with a puzzled look, "Wade, why are you out here? And why are you crawling on the ground?"

Deadpool's face showed a hint of embarrassment, but he forced a smile and replied, "I came out to get a drink of water."

Deadpool looked around as he spoke, but still couldn't see Vanessa. He became even more puzzled and asked, "Xiao Xian, where is my wife Vanessa? I can't see her." Deadpool emphasized the words "my wife."

Xiao Xian smiled slightly and glanced at the sofa in front of him. Vanessa was kneeling on the floor, elegantly eating a banana.

Vanessa wore a tight-fitting, low-cut black dress, black stockings that encased her long, slender legs, and red high heels. Her hair was slightly disheveled, her face flushed, and her lips parted slightly, revealing an alluring smile.

However, due to the sofa's obstruction, Vanessa was positioned in Deadpool's blind spot. Xiao Xian chuckled softly and casually remarked, "Oh, Vanessa went out to buy groceries. She wants to make something lavish."

Xiao Xian watched as Deadpool struggled to crawl towards the kitchen and asked with concern, "Do you need help getting some water?"

Deadpool shook his head, gritted his teeth, and said, "No need, I can do it myself." He persevered and crawled to the corner of the kitchen, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, and then slowly crawled back to the room.

Back in her room, Vanessa looked up and asked Xiao Xian with a smile, "How did you know he would come out?"

Xiao Xian smiled slightly, a hint of mystery in his eyes: "I know much more than you think."

Vanessa licked her lips, a smile of excitement spreading across her face: "You were right before, it's definitely better to keep my relationship with Wade intact. When Wade came out just now, I felt even more excited."

Xiao Xian nodded slightly, a hint of mockery flashing in his eyes.

By dinnertime, Deadpool was able to move around reasonably well. He stepped out of his room and glanced at the table, noticing that Vanessa had prepared an unusually lavish meal. He went into the kitchen, pretending to help out, and started talking to Vanessa.

"Vanessa, you never usually cook this much for me," Deadpool said, sounding a little jealous.

Vanessa smiled and explained, "Xiao Xian saved us, and I want to repay him properly."

Deadpool said sourly, "I've saved you many times before, too."

Vanessa glanced at Deadpool and said gently, "Wade, what I really want to repay is Xiao Xian for saving you, who is also my most important husband."

Deadpool forced a smile, but his displeasure lingered. He glanced at Vanessa's low-cut dress; every time she got up to get food, she was likely to expose herself. He swallowed hard, trying his best to ignore the details.

The atmosphere at dinner was somewhat delicate due to Vanessa's attentiveness. She kept getting up to serve Xiao Xian food, barely paying attention to Deadpool. Deadpool silently ate his meal, his mind filled with complex emotions. He knew Vanessa was doing this to repay Xiao Xian, but he still couldn't suppress his jealousy and unease.

After a few times, Deadpool couldn't resist gently kicking Vanessa to get her attention. Vanessa looked at Deadpool with a puzzled expression, seemingly not understanding the meaning behind his gaze.

Deadpool gestured to Vanessa with his eyes that she was exposed, but Vanessa pretended not to understand. She smiled and scooped up a spoonful of seafood soup, saying to Xiao Xian, "Try my seafood soup." With that, Vanessa handed the spoon to Xiao Xian and fed him herself.

After taking half a spoonful, Xiao Xian praised, "Vanessa, your cooking is amazing. Deadpool is so lucky to have married you."

Deadpool forced a smile and replied, "Yeah, I'm lucky."

Vanessa smiled, took back the spoon, drank the remaining half spoonful of seafood soup, and said, "I think there's still room for improvement."

Upon seeing Vanessa indirectly kissing him, Deadpool's smile vanished instantly. Unable to bear it any longer, Deadpool stood up, looked at Vanessa, and said, "Vanessa, I have something I want to talk to you about alone." His voice was deep, with a hint of suppressed anger in his tone.

After Deadpool finished speaking, he walked towards the bedroom. Vanessa gave Xiao Xian an apologetic look, and then followed Deadpool into the bedroom.

Deadpool looked at Vanessa, tears welling in his eyes, and said, "Thank you, Vanessa. I promise I won't let you down again."
