Chapter 91, Section 90: Unlimited Food
Chapter 91, Section 90: Unlimited Food
Ira spoke nervously, and Sheehan gained a new understanding of Sir Cadogan's past.
This knight, due to his prolonged boredom, even appears in the small painting in the back kitchen; in his words:
"You can't eat it and you won't even let me see it? King Arthur! You might as well just burn me."
Over time, he got to know most of the little elves.
Long ago, there were young wizards who bullied the elves here. The most common way they did this was to make them keep hitting their heads to see if they would stop.
The furious knight chased and berated the young wizard for a whole week. Headmistress Delis de Winter praised the knight's behavior, which made the elves like him a lot—although the knight didn't care at all.
Later, quite naturally, that goodwill was transferred to Sheehan.
Lord Cadogan said, "If anyone can become a noble knight, it is Lord Grin..."
Ira continued speaking in a soft voice, but her eyes lit up when she mentioned Kadoganjue.
Sheen conjured up a soft cushion, a rare occurrence, and sat in the kitchen listening to Ira recount some of Sir Cadogan's past.
How did he manage to defeat a giant monster all by himself, and hold his own against three?
Justin was busy making desserts, and the notebook in his hand was Professor Sprout's notes on the magic of food.
Hermione was still excitedly talking to the house-elves, even though they were all a little frightened and could only stammer and stutter as they spoke.
Justin called the Hogwarts kitchen the best place, and Sheehan witnessed just how many dishes Justin could make in a short time when he was at full power—even the house-elves were only slightly faster than him.
Naturally, Sheen ate too much.
So when the lazy afternoon arrived once again, a few more young wizards appeared on the edge of the Forbidden Forest.
The gentle sunlight seemed exceptionally mild.
Sheen and the others stopped a dozen paces away in the dark forest. The towering trees formed a dark green wall, but generously gave way to a gentle slope covered with soft moss.
Sunlight filtered through the high branches and leaves, casting dappled golden spots. In the area where these spots were most concentrated, an ancient beech tree stretched out its massive branches.
The air was damp, filled with the scent of earth, and carried a faint, almost imperceptible fragrance of wildflowers.
"On the train, the elves helped us carry our luggage to Hogwarts, including washing our clothes and cooking our food—it was all their work."
Justin was speaking slowly to Hermione, his voice mingling with the ethereal chirping of birds from the depths of the Forbidden Forest, and the soft rustling of some small animal moving through the bushes.
"Because they can Apparate at any time, and also use the Disillusionment Charm—"
Hermione asked questions and added details while taking notes.
This reminded Sheen of Ira's words:
"Ira wants to help Sheen Green. If Sheen Green needs food or supplies, Ira will provide them."
Green came, saying that all Sean Green had to do was call Ira.
Sheen looked at the tense little elves around him and nodded silently.
Then Ira was seen being surrounded by a group of little elves.
In short, Sheen gained the privilege of unlimited pumpkin juice, well, or maybe unlimited food—
After some time, Hermione and Justin suddenly started talking about the Forbidden Forest.
"So many Gryffindors want to explore the Forbidden Forest, I simply can't believe how stupid they could be!"
Hermione spoke of those reckless Gryffindors with barely suppressed impatience.
"At least they only think about it, right? Mr. Scamander was fired outright."
Justin offered words of comfort, almost as if joking.
There are many legends about this famous magizoologist at Hogwarts, such as how he broke several school rules by keeping magical creatures.
One of them was going to the Forbidden Forest with Ms. Leta Lestrange.
In reality, apart from a few Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students rarely break school rules.
This isn't the era when Blake was teaching: the Forbidden Forest isn't something you have to browse every day, and students greet each other by waving, not by gossiping.
Justin and Hermione seemed to be focused on the discussion, but in reality, they had been secretly glancing at Sheehan many times.
A damp breeze blew from the Black Lake, and the shadows of the three young wizards gradually tilted, soon merging together. "Ira?"
Nighttime, in the Ravenclaw dormitory.
Sheen called out softly, and after less than two seconds, a small figure slowly appeared.
"Mr. Sheen Green, it's an honor to be of assistance."
Ira clutched the tattered hem of her clothes, making Zhixin appear uneasy.
"I need a glass of hot milk. Oh, and this is for you."
Sheen handed a piece of candied crabapple to Ira's palm. He had tried to make it in the kitchen according to his memory. Logically, candied crabapple shouldn't be made so quickly, but magic is unreasonable.
"No, no! How could Ira accept a gift from Sheen Green—serving Sheen Green is what Ira should do!"
Ira seemed extremely frightened, until finally something glittered in her eyes.
Please accept this.
Sheen said.
Soon, the room was empty of a stunned little elf, and filled with a cup of hot milk and some cookies.
Sheen took a sip silently. He knew that his body had improved a lot. After all, Hogwarts provided plenty of food and drink, and the nutrition was rich and comprehensive.
Of course, Professor Snape's potions also played a significant role. Sheen felt that his body had recovered at least half of its original size. The remaining part would require a longer period of recuperation, but it wouldn't be too slow, given the powerful effects of the professor's potions.
By the window of his dormitory, Sheen held the Light Wheel 2000, feeling its structure and surging magic. Sheen knew that this was clearly a talent, an outstanding talent in alchemical creation.
So his notes contained some more things, not just about learning Transfiguration and the flight test tomorrow afternoon.
Late at night.
At the same windowsill, Hermione was still reading by candlelight. To keep those guys quiet, she cast a silence spell and moved to the windowsill.
She was still somewhat surprised that Justin could get Sheen to take a day off, and wondered what the knight's portrait had said to him that made him do it.
"Okay, let's just pretend it's a house with the doors and windows closed, but that's okay, I'll keep ringing the doorbell—"
Hermione seemed to hear Justin's relaxed yet firm words again.
