Chapter 79 Peaceful Times and Bearing Heavy Burdens
Chapter 79 Peaceful Times and Bearing Heavy Burdens
In mid-January, the castle was hit by another heavy snowfall.
More than half a month after returning to Hogwarts, Andy's life returned to its previous tranquility.
Attending classes, reading books, practicing magic, and teasing the little witch.
This is the daily routine.
However, unlike before the Christmas holidays, Andy would occasionally visit the Ravenclaw library to read books—just for leisure.
Whether or not I can trigger a serendipitous encounter doesn't matter; the key is that I love reading.
Unfortunately, Andy went again and again, but he was never able to achieve the feat of "reading through all the books in one night".
Last week, Andy finally saved up five potential points again and upgraded his [Transfiguration] talent to level 5.
Andy's enhanced talent made him even more adept at Transfiguration. Even Professor McGonagall said that Andy was ready to study higher-level courses.
In fact, Andy had already done this a long time ago.
Professor McGonagall also gave Andy a notebook on biomorphosis, allowing Andy to study biomorphosis on his own in private.
Andy was overjoyed.
……
However, people's circumstances are often different.
While Andy was enjoying a peaceful life, Harry and Ron were carrying a heavy burden.
Since discovering Snape's "plot" and learning about Nicolas Flamel and the Philosopher's Stone from Andy, Harry felt a great responsibility on his shoulders.
He had to do something.
This story begins a few days ago.
The day after Harry and Ron wrote to Dumbledore, they received a reply from him.
It must be said that Dumbledore went to great lengths to nurture Harry.
After learning that Harry didn't even know the Lockpicking Charm, Dumbledore changed his approach to training Harry.
Harry is actually quite talented in magic, but he doesn't like studying.
Since magic won't work, let's cultivate courage!
Harry certainly deserves praise in this regard.
This kid looks thin and weak, but he is extremely courageous.
However, courage alone is not enough to fight Voldemort; wisdom and strength are also essential.
Therefore, Dumbledore always wanted to find some assistants for Harry.
however……
Look at Harry's roommates!
Ron is as reckless as Harry, Seamus is a demolition genius, Neville suffers from amnesia, and the remaining one, Dean Thomas, doesn't get along very well with Harry.
Needless to say, the situation is even more dire for the girls.
Despite its vast size, Gryffindor's first year couldn't produce a single decent young wizard.
Ron's older brothers are alright, but the older and younger students don't get along.
As for Ron's other friend—Andy Collins.
Dumbledore tried, but Andy just wouldn't have it!
In recent days, Dumbledore had hesitated several times, wondering if he should just... terminate the plan.
As for this savior... well, that's up to fate from now on!
But Harry didn't think that way. He felt he had a great responsibility and an obligation to protect the Philosopher's Stone.
After class on Friday, Harry grabbed Ron and ran quickly out of the castle.
"Harry, where are you going?" Ron asked quickly.
"Go find Hagrid. Something came to mind."
Harry said with a serious expression, "Although the Ministry of Magic sent people to investigate the fourth floor of the castle, Professor Dumbledore did not move the Philosopher's Stone."
"You mean..." Ron suddenly realized.
"That's right!"
Harry nodded excitedly. "Hagrid said last time that he was also in charge of protecting the Philosopher's Stone, and no one could get past Fluffy. If Snape wants to steal the Philosopher's Stone, the easiest way is to get the solution from Hagrid."
Ron hesitated, "But Professor Dumbledore said that Snape wasn't the one who wanted to steal the Philosopher's Stone."
In his reply to Harry and Ron, Dumbledore wrote that someone did indeed want to steal the Philosopher's Stone, and that the Stone's owner, Nicolas Flamel, had personally entrusted him with protecting it for a period of time.
Moreover, it was not Snape who attempted to steal the Philosopher's Stone.
"Whoever it is, if they want to steal the Philosopher's Stone, they'll have to get past Luwei."
Harry said confidently, "And his only way is to get information out of Hagrid."
Ron nodded in agreement, then asked with a curious look, "Harry, what exactly is Fluffy?"
Poor Harry and Ron, ever since they were caught sneaking out at night and lost a hundred points, they've been traumatized by the corridors on the fourth floor of the castle and haven't dared to step into them since.
They've never even seen three hairs, let alone a three-headed dog.
"I'll ask Hagrid later!" Harry said.
The two quickly arrived at Hagrid's hut. Harry stepped forward and knocked on the door. A few barks came from inside, and soon the door was opened, and a huge figure walked out.
"Oh, it's you, Harry and Ron!"
Hagrid comforted the big dog Tooth while warmly inviting the two inside, "Come in quickly, it's cold outside."
Hagrid's cabin has only one room, and the layout is somewhat messy. There are many dried meats and hams hanging by the window, a stove inside, and a patched bed placed against the right wall.
"Come and sit down," Hagrid greeted them warmly, offering some rock cakes to Harry and Ron.
Harry and Ron's lips twitched.
They tried the rock-skin cake on their first visit, and that one time, it almost broke their teeth.
"Thank you!" Harry said politely, but declined to taste it.
"How's your studies going lately?" Hagrid asked.
Ron said with a bitter face, "It's the same as before. Snape has gone completely mad lately. He's deducted more than twenty points from us."
Hagrid snorted twice upon hearing this; he didn't want to comment on the Hogwarts professors.
"Hagrid!"
Harry asked, "Has anyone been in contact with you recently?"
"What?" Hagrid asked, puzzled.
Harry explained his doubts, then said with certainty, "If anyone wants to get through the fourth-floor corridor, the best way is to ask you how to get past Fluffy's gate."
"This has nothing to do with you!"
Hagrid was a little angry. "I shouldn't have revealed Nicolas Flamel's information. Harry, Hogwarts is safe. No one can steal the Philosopher's Stone, and no one can get past Fluffy."
Ron looked at Harry; he also believed that the Philosopher's Stone was safe at Hogwarts.
"Hagrid, Professor Dumbledore has admitted that someone is trying to steal the Philosopher's Stone."
Harry looked at Hagrid with a serious expression. "Hagrid, have you encountered any strange things lately?"
Something strange?
Hagrid stared at Harry with wide eyes.
He felt that Harry shouldn't be involved, but then he wondered if he had encountered anything strange recently.
"No! Nothing strange!"
Hagrid, somewhat annoyed by the persistent questioning, waved his hand dismissively. "Speaking of strange things, the Forbidden Forest has been acting strangely lately, but that has nothing to do with the Philosopher's Stone."
Forest ban!?
Harry and Ron exchanged a glance, as if they had discovered something.
