Chapter 68 Dumbledore Fishing, Those Who Are Willing to Take the Bait

Andy rubbed his temples; his head was throbbing!

So you think you're the best student?

"I'm talking about Quirrell!"

Andy lowered his voice and said, "If he really wanted revenge on me, he would definitely find a way to sneak back into Hogwarts... But what would he do?"

"Perhaps through a secret passage!"

Hermione tensed up upon hearing this. "Like that secret passage leading to Honeydukes's Sweets House...maybe there are other secret passages in the castle?"

Andy nodded, "That's a possibility."

But Dumbledore should know the location of those secret passages, right?

"Phew—" Andy exhaled.

Whether Dumbledore knew it or not, it's a possibility.

So far, Andy has come up with at least three ways to infiltrate Hogwarts.

"He could also be hiding in the Forbidden Forest," Hermione guessed.

Andy thought for a moment, then said, "Four."

"If Quirrell learns Animagus, he can impersonate a minor wizard's pet," Hermione continued her analysis.

Andy: "..."

Great, that makes five now.

"The Spatial Extension Charm is indeed a good idea. He can put himself in a small bag and then have an owl deliver it to Hogwarts." Hermione glanced at Andy.

Andy vowed that if anyone ever said Hogwarts was the safest place in the wizarding world again, he would hang them up and beat them.

Safety my foot!

Look, just two first-year wizards have already come up with so many ways to sneak into Hogwarts.

"If that's the case, then we can only respond to all changes by remaining unchanged."

Andy had a bit of a headache; it seemed he really needed to be more careful in the future.

Hermione looked at Andy with a worried expression; she couldn't think of any way to prevent Quirrell's revenge.

After their History of Magic get out of class, the little witch grabbed Andy and ran quickly to the library. She decided to read as many books as possible to see if she could find a way to deal with Quirrell.

"Andy, you really are here."

Andy had only been at the library for a short while when Harry and Ron came looking for him.

"Shh!"

Andy gestured for them to be quiet, indicating that they should look at Mrs. Pince, then stood up and said, "Let's talk outside."

"Hermione, I'll be right back."

Once outside the library, Andy asked curiously, "Is something wrong between you two?"

Harry glanced at Ron first, then asked with a serious expression, "Andy, do you know Nicolas Flamel?"

Andy: "..."

Did these two still manage to find the Philosopher's Stone?

It seems they had a very fulfilling Christmas!

"Nico Flamel, full name Nicolas Flamel, was a Frenchman and the most famous alchemist of the fourteenth century. His greatest achievement was creating the Philosopher's Stone."

Andy explained slowly, "The Philosopher's Stone can not only turn metal into gold, but it can also be used to make elixirs of immortality. If I remember correctly, Mr. Nicolas Flamel is 662 years old this year."

Harry and Ron exchanged a glance upon hearing this.

"Snape must be trying to steal the Philosopher's Stone!"

Ron confidently guessed, "Think about it, the Philosopher's Stone can not only grant immortality, but it can also turn metal into gold. Possessing the Philosopher's Stone is equivalent to possessing immeasurable wealth."

By the end, Ron's face was full of envy.

Nicolas Flamel is so lucky!

"That must be it!"

Harry's expression was grave. "If Snape gets the Philosopher's Stone, everything will be over!"

Andy: "..."

Shouldn't the most important function of the Philosopher's Stone be that it can grant immortality?

Also, how come everything ended after Snape got the Philosopher's Stone?

Does he have some kind of conspiracy?

"Uh... what are you guys talking about?" Andy looked confused.

It's time to show off my acting skills.

"You're saying Snape wanted to steal the Philosopher's Stone?"

Andy asked doubtfully, "But as far as I know, the Philosopher's Stone should be in the hands of Mr. Nicolas Flamel, and no one in the wizarding world knows where he is living in seclusion now."

Harry and Ron exchanged another glance. Ron nodded slightly, and Harry said solemnly, "Andy, the Philosopher's Stone is at Hogwarts right now, and Snape wants to steal it."

Why?

Andy still looked puzzled. "If Mr. Flamel gave the Philosopher's Stone to Headmaster Dumbledore, Headmaster Dumbledore should have carried it with him at all times."

"No one in the wizarding world can steal anything from Headmaster Dumbledore."

Harry said mysteriously, "Andy, come with me."

The three walked to a corner of the castle. Harry looked around warily, and seeing that no one was around, he breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Someone gave me an invisibility cloak for Christmas this year."

"That's really cool!" Ron chimed in.

Harry continued, "Because of the attack on Malfoy, the Ministry of Magic sent people to Hogwarts to investigate. When Ron and I were out for a walk at night... we saw Snape sneaking off to the fourth-floor corridor."

"Andy, you should also know about the Gringotts invasion, right? The Gringotts invasion happened on the same day that Hagrid and I went to Gringotts to withdraw money."

Hagrid took something from Gringotts!

Ron then added, "Harry and I went to see Hagrid, and Hagrid inadvertently revealed the name Nicolas Flamel."

Dumbledore really went to great lengths!

Andy couldn't help but sigh!

For something as important as the Philosopher's Stone, he actually sent Hagrid to Gringotts to retrieve it—couldn't he have gone himself?

During Hogwarts holidays, the headmaster shouldn't be too busy, right?

Even if Dumbledore had personal matters to attend to, going to Gringotts to retrieve something would only take two Apparitions.

Surely Dumbledore can't even spare this little bit of time?

Clearly, Dumbledore's goal was to let Harry see the Philosopher's Stone firsthand, so that he could reasonably deduce all of this.

Then they voluntarily joined the game.

It must be said that Dumbledore really has some of the style of Jiang Ziya, letting those who are willing take the bait!

Andy couldn't help but think to himself, "Could Dumbledore have tricked me too?"

It's not impossible!

Harry and Ron are both academically challenged; even if they knew the name Nicolas Flamel, they probably wouldn't know who he was.

Andy and Ron knew each other before they enrolled in school.

Andy is a top student, so Harry and Ron will definitely ask him for advice about Nicolas Flamel.

Moreover, Snape had warned Andy before Christmas, telling him to be careful of Quirrell.

If Andy's guess is correct, then Dumbledore's plan is already quite clear.

He informed Andy through Snape that Quirrell was a bad guy and that he was the one who attacked Malfoy.

On the other hand, he used Andy's friendship with Ron to tell Andy about the Philosopher's Stone.

In order to protect himself, Andy will definitely join forces with Harry to fight Quirrell.
